He who forgets the prayer should say it when he remembers it, there is no explation for it, except this. Qatada said: (Allah says)" And observe prayer for remembrance of Me"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا لاَ كَفَّارَةَ لَهَا إِلاَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي

He who forgets the prayer, or he slept (and it was omitted), its expiation is (only) that he should observe it when he remembers it.

نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَكَفَّارَتُهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا

When any one of you omits the prayer due to sleep or he forgets it, he should observe it when he remembers it, for Allah has said:" Observe prayer for remembrance of Me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَقَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ أَوْ غَفَلَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي

Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution.

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

If any one forgets a prayer or oversleeps, he should observe it when he remembers it ; there is no expiation for it except that.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا لاَ كَفَّارَةَ لَهَا إِلاَّ ذَلِكَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone oversleeps and misses the witr, or forgets it, he should pray when he remembers.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ وِتْرِهِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّهِ إِذَا ذَكَرَهُ

Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever forgets a Salat then he is to pray it when he remembers it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ وَأَبِي قَتَادَةَ

Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever sleeps past Al-Witr or forgets it, then let him pray it when he remembers it or when he awakens."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَامَ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا ذَكَرَ وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ

the Prophet said: "Whoever sleeps past his Al-Witr then let him pray it in the morning."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ وِتْرِهِ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever touches his private part, let him perform Wudu'.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If you forget a prayer, pray it when you remember it, for Allah says: "and perform the Salah for My remembrance." [1] [1] Ta-Ha 20:14.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا نَسِيتَ الصَّلاَةَ فَصَلِّ إِذَا ذَكَرْتَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي } قَالَ عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ يَعْلَى مُخْتَصَرًا

"Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it, for Allah says: and perform the Salah for My remembrance." [1] [1] Ta-Ha 20:14.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَالَ { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي }

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers it, for Allah says: "and perform prayer when you remember (li dhikra).'" I said to Az-Zuhri: "Is that how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it?" He said: "Yes."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةِ لِلذِّكْرَى } قُلْتُ لِلزُّهْرِيِّ هَكَذَا قَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If anyone of you touches his penis, let him perform ablution.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاَةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever sleeps and misses Witr, or forgets it, let him pray it when morning comes, or when he remembers.’”

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَامَ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ أَوْ ذَكَرَهُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي} [طه 14]

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever is silent, he is saved.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَمَتَ نَجَا»

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone invokes blessings on me once, Allah will bless him ten times. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1530)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ صَلَاةً وَاحِدَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever oversleeps or forgets to perform the Witr prayer, should offer it whenever they remember it or wake up."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ نَامَ عَنِ الْوَتْرِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُوتِرْ إِذَا ذَكَرَهُ أَوْ اسْتَيْقَظَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone oversleeps and misses the witr, or forgets it, he should pray when he remembers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1431)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ الْوَتْرَ أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا أَوْ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ

[AI] If you missed a prayer or slept through it, then its expiation is to pray it when you remember it. Yazid said: And its expiation is to repent for it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَإِنَّمَا كَفَّارَتُهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا قَالَيَزِيدُ فَكَفَّارَتُهَا أَنْ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا رَقَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ أَوْ غَفَلَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَقُولُ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي} [طه 14]

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever forgets a prayer or sleeps through it, then the atonement for it is to pray it when they remember it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَإِنَّ كَفَّارَتَهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever prays upon me a prayer, Allah mentions him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى علَيَّ صَلَاةً فَذَكَرَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever starts hostility."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] I consider that one who forgets a prayer should perform it once they remember, even if it is after the time for it has passed.

أَحْسَبُهُ مَرْفُوعًا مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا حِينَ يَذْكُرُهَا وَمِنَ الْغَدِ لِلْوَقْتِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever touches his sexual organ then let him perform ablution." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 481)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever sits in the mosque waiting for the prayer, then he is considered in prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ جَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ

"When the Messenger of Allah wanted to sleep and he was sexually impure, he would perform ablution as for prayer." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 584)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone oversleeps and misses the witr, or forgets it, he should pray when he remembers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1431)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ وِتْرِهِ أَوْ نَسِيَهُ فَلْيُصَلِّهِ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ أَوْ ذَكَرَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever Allah dislikes from you, do not do it when you are alone."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا كَرِهَ اللَّهُ مِنْكَ شَيْئًا فَلَا تَفْعَلْهُ إِذَا خَلَوْتَ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever touches his private part, let him perform Wudu'.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 444)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches his private parts should perform ablution (wudu) for prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If anyone forgets a prayer he should pray that prayer when he remembers it. There is no expiation except to pray the same." Then he recited: "Establish prayer for My (i.e. Allah's) remembrance." (20.14). (Using translation from Bukhārī 597)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever forgets a prayer or oversleeps it should perform it as soon as they remember."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever is in the mosque waiting for the prayer is considered to be in the prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ كَانَ فِي مَسْجِدٍ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "Whoever waits for prayer is considered to be in prayer as long as he does not do anything to nullify it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنِ انْتَظَرَ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 696)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever sits in the mosque waiting for prayer, he is in prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ جَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever forgets a prayer, let them pray it as soon as they remember it, even if it is the next day, within its prescribed time."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا مِنَ الْغَدِ لِلْوَقْتِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches his private parts, let him perform ablution."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 696)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»
