9. Book of Ṣalāh
“Safwan bin Mu’attal asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: ‘O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you about something of which you have knowledge and I know nothing.’ He said: ‘What is it?’ He said: ‘Is there any time of the night or day when it is disliked to perform prayer? He said: ‘Yes, when you have prayed the Subh, then do not pray until the sun has risen, for it rises between the two horns of Satan. Then pray, for the prayer is attended (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until the sun is right overhead like a spear. For at that time Hell is heated up and its gates are opened. (Then refrain from prayer) until the sun passes the zenith. Then when it has passed the zenith, the prayer is attended (by the angels) and is acceptable (to Allah) until you pray the ‘Asr. Then stop praying until the sun has set.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1252)

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ forbade praying after 'Asr until the sun had set, and after Subh until the sun had risen. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 561)
[Machine] Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the prayer after Asr until the sun sets, and the prayer after Fajr until the sun rises.

[Machine] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "When the sun's eyebrow rises, do not pray until it is fully visible, then pray. And when the sun's eyebrow sets, do not pray until it has fully set, then pray. Do not hasten your prayers at sunrise or sunset, as it rises between the horns of Satan."
There were three times at which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid us to pray or bury our dead - when the sun begins to rise till it is fully up, when the sun is at its height midway till it passes the meridian, and when the sun draws near to setting till it sets, or as he said. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3192)
“Do not pray after ‘Asr unless you pray when the sun is still high.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 1073)
"No one of you should deliberately try to pray when the sun is rising, or when it is setting." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 563)
Some reliable people testified before me, and among them was Umar ibn al-Khattab, and most reliable in my eyes was Umar: The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: There is no prayer after the dawn prayer until the sun rises; and there is no prayer after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1276)
[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, are there any specific times during the day and night when I should not pray?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If you pray Fajr (before sunrise), then shorten your prayers until the sun has risen, for it rises between the horns of Satan. After that, the prayer is witnessed but prohibited until midday. When midday has passed, shorten your prayers until the sun starts to decline, for at that time Hellfire is kindled and its heat intensifies. When the sun has set, the prayer is witnessed but prohibited until you have performed Asr prayer. Once you have performed Asr prayer, shorten your prayers until the sun has set between the horns of Satan. After that, the prayer is witnessed but prohibited until you have performed Fajr prayer again."

The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not prevent anyone from going round this House (the Ka'bah) and from praying any moment he desires by day or by night. The narrator Fadl (ibn Ya'qub) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Banu Abdu Munaf, do not stop anyone. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1894)

I attended Fajr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Masjid al-Khayf. When he finished praying, he saw two men at the back of the people who had not prayed with him. He said: “Bring them here.” So they were brought to him, trembling. He said: “What kept you from praying with us?” They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ we had already prayed in our homes.' He said: “Do not do that. If you have already prayed in your homes, then you come to a masjid in which there is a congregation, then pray with them, and it will be a voluntary prayer for you." Bilal replied, "I was overwhelmed by sleep the likes of which I have never slept before." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Get up and call the people to prayer."
