9. Book of Ṣalāh
AbuThumamah al-Hannat said that Ka'b ibn Ujrah met him while he was going to the mosque; one of the two (companions) met his companion (on his way to the mosque) And he met crossing the fingers of my both hands. He prohibited me to do so, and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: If any of you performs ablution, and performs his ablution perfectly, and then goes out intending for the mosque, he should not cross the fingers of his hand because he is already in prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 562)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or in the evening, Allah prepares for him a place in Paradise every time he goes or returns."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who remains seated after prayer is like the one who is constantly worshipping, and his deeds are recorded as long as he is present in the mosque, from the time he leaves his house until he returns to it."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever goes to the masjid (mosque) for congregational prayer, every step he takes will erase a bad deed and write a good deed in its place, while returning from the masjid."
[Machine] There was a man in Medina whom I did not know, who used to pray facing the qibla and would witness the prayer with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from a distance further than the nearest neighbor to the mosque. It was said to him, "If only you would buy a donkey to ride during the hot or dark nights." He replied, "It does not please me that my house is far from the mosque." This was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and he said, "May Allah grant you all of that or give you what you have expected."
[Machine] "There was a man whom I did not know, who was from the people of the city, and who lived farther from the mosque than that man [referring to himself]. I said to him, 'If you were to buy a donkey to ride it in the darkness or in the heat?' He replied, 'Then the conversation reached the Prophet ﷺ, so I asked him. I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, I wanted my coming to the mosque to be recorded and my return when I go back.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Allah has granted you all that you have asked for.'"
[Machine] "We wanted to move to the mosque, and the areas surrounding the mosque were vacant. So, the Prophet ﷺ was informed about it, and he came to our house and said, 'O children of Salimah, I have been informed that you want to move to the mosque.' They replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, the mosque and its surroundings are far from us and vacant.' He said, 'O children of Salimah, your houses are your houses, and your traces will be recorded.' We did not wish to be in the presence of the mosque when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said what he said."
Prayer said by a man in congregation is twenty five degrees more excellent than prayer said by him alone in his house or in the market. This is because when any of you performs ablution and does it perfectly, and goes out to the mosque having no intention except praying, and nothing moves him except prayer, then at every step which he takes his rank is elevated by one degree on account of this (walking), and one sin is remitted from him for this (walking), till he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque, he will be reckoned as praying as long as he will be detained by the prayer. The angels keep on invoking blessing on any of you so long as he remains seated in the place he prayer, saying: O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him; O Allah, accept his repentance so long as he does not harm anyone, or breaks his ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 559)
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be' upon him) said: He who purified himself in his house, and then he walked to one of the houses of Allah for the sake of performing a Fard (obligatory act) out of the Fara'id (obligatory acts) of Allah, both his steps (would be significant) as one of them would obliterate his sin and the second one would raise his status. (Using translation from Muslim 666)
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "When a person purifies themselves and then comes to the mosque to perform the prayer, for every step he takes towards the mosque, a good deed is written for him."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Whoever walks in the darkness of the night to the mosques, Allah will grant him light on the Day of Resurrection."
The Mesenger of Allah said: "When anyone of enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the Prophet, then let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy).' And when he leaves, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: 'Allahumma- simni minash-shaitanir-rajim (O Allah, protect me from the accursed Shaitan).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 773)

when any of you enters the mosque he should invoke blessing on the prophet ﷺ and then he should say: O Allah, open to me the gates of thy mercy. And when he goes out, he should say: O Allah, I ask thee out of Thine abundance. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 465)
"I heard Abu Humaid and Abu Usaid say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When any one of you enters the Masjid, let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of your mercy).
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer one day. And he said: Is so and so present? They said: No. He (again) asked: Is so and so present? They replied: No. He then said: These two prayers are the ones which are most burdensome to hypocrites. If you knew what they contain (i.e. blessings), you would come to them, even though you had to crawl on your knees. The first row is like that of the angels, and if you knew the nature of its excellence, you would race to join it. A man's prayer said along with another is purer than his prayer said alone, and his prayer with two men is purer than his prayer with one, but if there are more it is more pleasing to Allah, the Almighty, the Majestic. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 554)

'Uthman b. 'Affan (narrated the mosque after evening prayer and sat alone. I also sat alone with him, so he said: 0, son of my brother, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who observed the 'Isha' prayer in congregation, it was as if he prayed up to midnight, and he who prayed the morning prayer in congregation, it was as if he prayed the whole night. (Using translation from Muslim 656a)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The angels of the day and the angels of the night come down amongst you when the Fajr prayer is established. They witness the prayer with you and the angels of the night remain with you until the angels of the day come. Then Allah asks them, while He is most knowledgeable about what you have left behind, 'What did My servants leave behind while they were engaged in prayer?' They reply, 'We found them praying and we left them praying.' So, I assumed that they were saying, 'O Allah! Forgive them their sins on the Day of Reckoning.'"
