[Machine] He informed me, he said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to speak to him about a prisoner that we captured during the pre-Islamic era. So I found him sitting with a group of people surrounding him. He was wearing a garment made of thick cotton cloth. Piety is here, piety is here" - he pointed to his chest.

ahmad:23218Sufyān

[Machine] "O people, do not kill one another when you throw the pebbles (at the Jamrah during Hajj). Throw them in a way similar to the stones of the throwing and recite its Isnad (chain of narrators) which exceeds that of Sulaiman bin Amr bin al-Ahwas from his mother, meaning from the Prophet ﷺ."

When he entered the house, completed the task, and returned, he found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ there. He said, "I saw a horn in the house, so hide it." Mansur said: Abdullah bin Musafi' narrated this hadith to me from my mother, who heard it from Umm Uthman bint Sufyan. The Prophet ﷺ said to him in the hadith, "It is not appropriate to have anything in the house that distracts the worshippers."

He said, 'I had seen the horns of the ram when I entered the house but forgot to tell you to tie them up. So go and tie them up, as there should not be anything in the house that distracts the worshipper.' Sufyan said, 'The horns of the ram remained in the house until the house burned down, and they burned with it.'

ahmad:23223ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Mālik > Sumay > Abū Bakr b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman

[Machine] Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ narrated that the Prophet ﷺ saw in a dream a man pouring water on his head while he was fasting, either due to heat or thirst.

ahmad:23224Ismāʿīl / Ibn Ibrāhīm > Ḥusayn b. Dhakwān > Isḥāq b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Ṭalḥah > ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad > Āmraʾah Minhum

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon me while I was eating with my left hand, and I was a left-handed woman. He struck my hand and the morsel fell. He said, "Do not eat with your left hand when Allah has made your right hand available for you." or he said, "When Allah has freed your right hand." She said, "So I switched my left hand to my right hand, and I did not eat with it afterward."

[Machine] It is said that he is called "Mih'rash" or "Mukharresh". Sufyan did not stand on his name, and perhaps he said "Mukharresh" and I did not hear it. I heard that the Prophet ﷺ left Al-Ji'ranah at night and performed Umrah, then he returned and in the morning he had red spots on his back. I looked at his back and it looked like a silver slab.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to a gathering where each one of us had a nickname or two. When he called a person by their nickname, we would say, "O Messenger of Allah, this nickname bothers this person." He replied, "And you have descended {And do not insult one another by nicknames}" [Al-Hujurat: 11].

Then he spoke to the people about being rich. He said: 'There is nothing wrong with being rich for one who has piety, but good health for one who has piety is better than riches, and being of good cheer is a blessing." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2141)

ahmad:23230Muʿāwiyah b. ʿAmr > Zāʾidah > al-Rukayn b. al-Rabīʿ b. ʿUmaylah > Abū ʿAmr al-Shaybānī > a man from al-Anṣār

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Horses are of three types: a horse that a man uses for the cause of Allah the Almighty, so its cost is a reward, its riding is a reward, its grooming is a reward, and its feeding is a reward. And a horse that a man restrains and uses for gambling, so its cost is a sin, its grooming is a sin, its riding is a sin, and a horse meant for vanity. "The Messenger of Allah {s.a.w} narrated two narrations to us, one of which I have seen {happening} and I am waiting for the other. He narrated that (in the beginning) trust was preserved in the roots of the hearts of men, then the Qur'an was revealed, and they learned it from the Qur'an, and then they learned it from the Sunnah. Then he narrated to us about the disappearance of trust, saying, 'A man will go to sleep whereupon trust will be taken away from his heart, and only its trace will remain, like speckles. He then will sleep, whereupon the remainder of the trust will also be taken away and trace will remain like a blister, like an ember that you roll on your feet, it causes pain and you see it swollen while it contains nothing.' Then he took a pebble and rolled it over his leg. He said: 'So there will come a day when people will deal in business with each other, but there will hardly be any trustworthy persons among them, such that it would be said that in such and such a tribe, there is such and such person, who is honest, and until a man will be admired for his strength, intelligence, and good manners, although indeed he will not have faith equal to a mustard seed in his heart."' He (Hudhaifah) added: "There came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing with anyone of you, for if he was a Muslim, his religion would prevent him from cheating me, and if was a Jew or a Christian, his Muslim ruler would prevent him from cheating me; but today I cannot deal except with so-and-so and so-and-so." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2179)

[Machine] Hudhayfah entered the mosque and found a man praying near the windows of Kindah. He noticed that the man did not complete his bowing or prostration. After the man finished, Hudhayfah asked him, "How long have you been performing this prayer?" The man replied, "For forty years." Hudhayfah then said, "You have not prayed for forty years. If you were to die, your prayer would not be valid unless you prayed in the manner that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed." Then Hudhayfah approached him and taught him the correct way to perform the prayer and said, "Indeed, a person may cheat in their prayer, and yet they still complete the bowing and prostration."

We were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said. Count for me those who profess al-Islam. We said: Messenger of Allah, do you entertain any fear concerning us and we are (at this time) between six hundred and seven hundred (in strength). He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: You don't perceive; you may be put to some trial, He (the narrator) said: We actually suffered trial so much so that some of our men were constrained to offer their prayers in concealment. (Using translation from Muslim 149)

[Machine] I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night, and he began reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. He recited until he reached the verse of one hundred, at which point I thought he would bow. However, he continued reciting until he reached the verse of two hundred, and again I thought he would bow. But he continued reciting until he completed the Surah. I then thought he would bow, but he said: "Then he began reciting Surah An-Nisa. He recited it, then he bowed. In his bowing, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great." His bowing was the same length as his standing. Then he prostrated and his prostration was as long as his bowing. In his prostration, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." Whenever he passed by a verse of mercy, he would ask for mercy, and whenever he passed by a verse of punishment, he sought refuge (with Allah), and whenever he passed by a verse in which Allah was glorified, he would glorify (Allah).
