13.5 [Machine] Sheikh from Bani Salit
[Machine] He informed me, he said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to speak to him about a prisoner that we captured during the pre-Islamic era. So I found him sitting with a group of people surrounding him. He was wearing a garment made of thick cotton cloth. The first thing I heard him say while pointing with his fingers was, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, he does not oppress him, nor does he abandon him. Piety is here, piety is here" - he pointed to his chest.

[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "I fear for the Quraysh nothing but themselves." I said, "What is wrong with them?" He replied, "They are obsessed with worldly gains. They will continue to deceive people until you see people amongst them like sheep between two watering places. This will happen time and time again."

while a man was praying letting his lower garment trail, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Go and perform ablution. He, therefore, went and performed ablution and then returned. He (the prophet) again said: Go and perform ablution. He again went, performed ablution and returned. A man said to him (the prophet): Messenger of Allah, why did you order him to perform ablution? He said: he was praying with lower garment trailing, and does not accept the prayer of a man who lets his lower garment trail. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 638)

[Machine] "O people, do not kill one another when you throw the pebbles (at the Jamrah during Hajj). Throw them in a way similar to the stones of the throwing and recite its Isnad (chain of narrators) which exceeds that of Sulaiman bin Amr bin al-Ahwas from his mother, meaning from the Prophet ﷺ."

When he entered the house, completed the task, and returned, he found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ there. He said, "I saw a horn in the house, so hide it." Mansur said: Abdullah bin Musafi' narrated this hadith to me from my mother, who heard it from Umm Uthman bint Sufyan. The Prophet ﷺ said to him in the hadith, "It is not appropriate to have anything in the house that distracts the worshippers."

[Machine] A woman from the Banu Sulaim told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a message to Uthman ibn Talhah and said, "She asked Uthman, 'Why did the Prophet ﷺ call you?' He said, 'I had seen the horns of the ram when I entered the house but forgot to tell you to tie them up. So go and tie them up, as there should not be anything in the house that distracts the worshipper.' Sufyan said, 'The horns of the ram remained in the house until the house burned down, and they burned with it.'

She said, "So I switched my left hand to my right hand, and I did not eat with it afterward."

Then he spoke to the people about being rich. He said: 'There is nothing wrong with being rich for one who has piety, but good health for one who has piety is better than riches, and being of good cheer is a blessing." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2141)

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Horses are of three types: a horse that a man uses for the cause of Allah the Almighty, so its cost is a reward, its riding is a reward, its grooming is a reward, and its feeding is a reward. And a horse that a man restrains and uses for gambling, so its cost is a sin, its grooming is a sin, its riding is a sin, and a horse meant for vanity. Perhaps it may be a means of payment for poverty, if Allah wills."

[Machine] Abu Musa used to urinate in a bottle and say, "When one of the children of Israel used to experience the need to urinate, he would dig a hole and urinate in it." Hudhaifah said, "I wish that your companion would not enforce this strictness. I have seen myself following the Prophet ﷺ until we reached a place called Subata, and he stood up to urinate just as any of you would. So I moved away from him, and he said, 'Come closer.'" So I approached him until I was by his side.

The devil considers the food when Allah’s name is not mentioned over it, and he brought his nomad Arab that it might be lawful by means of him, so I seized his hand: then he brought this girl that it might be lawful by means of her, so I seized her hand. By Him in Whose hand my soul is, His hand is in my hand along with their hands. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3766)

The ending of Sūrat al-Baqarah was revealed from underneath the Throne of Allah
This Ummah has been given preference over all other nations with three ˹things˺: (1) For them, this earth has been made purifying and a masjid (place of prayer), (2) its rows in prayer are like of the rows of angels, and (3) the Prophet ﷺ used to say, "I have been given these last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah from the treasures beneath the Throne. No prophet has been given the likes of them before me."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There was a man from among those before you who used to commit sins. When death approached him, he said to his family: "If I die, burn me, then grind me into powder and scatter me in the sea on a stormy day." When he died, his family did as he had instructed. Then Allah gathered him in His hand and asked him: "What made you do what you did?" He replied: "Out of fear of You." Allah said: "Indeed, I have forgiven you."

"The Messenger of Allah {s.a.w} narrated two narrations to us, one of which I have seen {happening} and I am waiting for the other. He narrated that (in the beginning) trust was preserved in the roots of the hearts of men, then the Qur'an was revealed, and they learned it from the Qur'an, and then they learned it from the Sunnah. Then he narrated to us about the disappearance of trust, saying, 'A man will go to sleep whereupon trust will be taken away from his heart, and only its trace will remain, like speckles. He then will sleep, whereupon the remainder of the trust will also be taken away and trace will remain like a blister, like an ember that you roll on your feet, it causes pain and you see it swollen while it contains nothing.' Then he took a pebble and rolled it over his leg. He said: 'So there will come a day when people will deal in business with each other, but there will hardly be any trustworthy persons among them, such that it would be said that in such and such a tribe, there is such and such person, who is honest, and until a man will be admired for his strength, intelligence, and good manners, although indeed he will not have faith equal to a mustard seed in his heart."' He (Hudhaifah) added: "There came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing with anyone of you, for if he was a Muslim, his religion would prevent him from cheating me, and if was a Jew or a Christian, his Muslim ruler would prevent him from cheating me; but today I cannot deal except with so-and-so and so-and-so." [Machine] Hudhayfah entered the mosque and found a man praying near the windows of Kindah. He noticed that the man did not complete his bowing or prostration. After the man finished, Hudhayfah asked him, "How long have you been performing this prayer?" The man replied, "For forty years." Hudhayfah then said, "You have not prayed for forty years. If you were to die, your prayer would not be valid unless you prayed in the manner that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed." Then Hudhayfah approached him and taught him the correct way to perform the prayer and said, "Indeed, a person may cheat in their prayer, and yet they still complete the bowing and prostration."

We were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said. Count for me those who profess al-Islam. We said: Messenger of Allah, do you entertain any fear concerning us and we are (at this time) between six hundred and seven hundred (in strength). He (the Holy Prophet) remarked: You don't perceive; you may be put to some trial, He (the narrator) said: We actually suffered trial so much so that some of our men were constrained to offer their prayers in concealment. (Using translation from Muslim 149)

He said; 'After me there will be rulers, whoever believes in their lies and helps them in their wrongdoing is not of me, and I am not of him, and he will not come to me at the Cistern. Whoever does not believe their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me, and I am of hi, and he will come to me at the Cistern."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4207)

[Machine] I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night, and he began reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. He recited until he reached the verse of one hundred, at which point I thought he would bow. However, he continued reciting until he reached the verse of two hundred, and again I thought he would bow. But he continued reciting until he completed the Surah. I then thought he would bow, but he said: "Then he began reciting Surah An-Nisa. He recited it, then he bowed. In his bowing, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great." His bowing was the same length as his standing. Then he prostrated and his prostration was as long as his bowing. In his prostration, he said: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." Whenever he passed by a verse of mercy, he would ask for mercy, and whenever he passed by a verse of punishment, he sought refuge (with Allah), and whenever he passed by a verse in which Allah was glorified, he would glorify (Allah).
