[Machine] Ibn Qurayzah's sons told me that they were presented to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the time of Qurayzah. Whoever had reached puberty was killed, and whoever had not was left (alive).

ahmad:23163Abū Kāmil > Zuhayr > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > al-Aḥnaf b. Qays > ʿAm Lah

[Machine] He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Tell me a word that will benefit me and keep it brief so that I can remember it." He ﷺ said, "Do not get angry." He repeated this request several times, and every time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded with the same advice, "Do not get angry."

ahmad:23164Abū Qaṭan > Yūnus > al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbdullāh > And al-Idī > Ghadawt Liḥājah Faʾidhā

[Machine] I went out of necessity and found myself with a group in the marketplace. I joined them and there was a man talking to them, describing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and describing his physical characteristics. I presented myself to him on the road between Arafat and Mina, and he lifted me onto his ride, and I recognized him by his description. Then a man called out to me, "O rider, move away from the faces of the travelers!" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave the rider alone, for he has done nothing wrong." So I came closer until I took hold of the reins or bridle of the she-camel and said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me or instruct me to do an action that will bring me close to Jannah and take me far from the Hellfire." He said, "Is that what you want from me, or are you asking me sincerely?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then be mindful or understand that worshiping Allah without associating anything with Him, establishing prayer, paying Zakat, fasting in Ramadan, performing Hajj, and treating people the way you want to be treated and avoiding what you dislike. Let go of the reins or bridle of the she-camel." Abu Qatadah said, "So I said to him, "Did you hear this directly from him or did you hear it from Al-Mughirah?" He said, "Yes."

[Machine] I said, "I only want that for myself." He said, "Redeem it with your wealth." I said, "Indeed, it is not accepted from me." He said, "I was a servant attending the Prophet ﷺ and so-and-so informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The murdered person will come on the Day of Resurrection hanging onto his killer, and he will say, 'O Lord, ask him why he killed me.' And He will reply, 'Because of the wealth of so-and-so.' So, fear Allah, and do not be that person."

The man greeted the Prophet ﷺ and then said, "O Prophet of Allah, I made a vow that if Allah granted the Prophet and the believers victory in Makkah, I would pray in the Masjid al-Aqsa. And I found a man from the people of Syria here in Quraysh, who has come with me and will stay with me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "He is here, so pray. This is what he said four times." Then the man repeated his statement a fifth time, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Go and pray there. A man who had come with him came to me while I was irrigating the crops, and in his hand he had a walnut. He sat on a water canal, breaking the walnut and eating it. Then he pointed to a place and said, "Persian, come here." I approached him, and the man said to me, "Persian, will you guarantee me and plant a tree from this walnut on this water canal?" I asked him, "What good will that do for me?" He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever plants a tree and takes care of it, patiently waiting for it to bear fruit, will have a reward from Allah for every fruit that is eaten from it.'" I asked him, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He replied, "Yes." So I said to him, "I guarantee it."

And if you are afflicted with a year of drought, you call upon Him to bring forth crops for you. And if you are in a barren land and you go astray, you call upon Him to guide you back. He said: So the man embraced Islam. Then he said: Advise me, O Messenger of Allah! He said: Do not revile anything or anyone, for the judge may become doubtful. He said: I have never reviled a camel or a sheep since the Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised me. And do not disdain good deeds, even if it is just by extending your face towards your brother while speaking to him. And empty your bucket into the container of the one seeking water. And tie your garment below the halfway point of your leg. And if you refuse, then below the calves. And be wary of dragging your garment, for it is a sign of arrogance. And Allah does not love arrogance.

So we said, "O Prophet of Allah, we see that you are in a good mood and your face is radiant." He said, 'What are the disputing angels disputing about?' I said, 'I do not know, my Lord.' He said, 'That was twice or thrice.' He said, 'Then He placed His hand between my shoulders and I felt its coolness between my chest until I saw what is in the heavens and the earth.' Then he recited this verse, 'And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth' [Quran 6:75]. He said, 'O Muhammad, what were the disputing angels disputing about?' He said, 'I said, 'About the expiations.' He said, 'And what are the expiations?' I said, 'Walking to the congregational prayer, sitting in the mosques after the prayers, and the extra ablution in disliked times.' He said, 'Whoever does that, lives and dies in goodness, and he will be rewarded for his sins as the day his mother gave birth to him.' And among the levels of goodness are speaking kindly, spreading peace, feeding others, praying at night while people are asleep.' He said, 'O Muhammad, when you pray, say, 'O Allah, I ask You for goodness, abandoning evil, love for the poor, and that You may forgive me. And when you wish to afflict the people with a trial, take me unto You before that.'
