[Machine] A man who was not named from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ was reported as having heard a person, meaning the Prophet ﷺ , reciting "Say: O disbelievers!" The man said, "As for this, it absolves him from associating partners with Allah." He also heard another person reciting "Say: He is Allah, [who is] One." The man said, "As for this, he is forgiven."  

أحمد:٢٣٢٠٦حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ الصَّائِغِ

عَنْ رَجُلٍ لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ فَقَالَ أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَسَمِعَ آخَرَ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ

[Machine] A man, who was not mentioned by the Prophet's companions that he had heard a man, meaning the Prophet, reciting "Say, O disbelievers," said, "As for this, it means that he has been cleared of polytheism," and he heard another reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One." So he said, "As for this, he has been forgiven."

[Machine] From a sheikh who encountered the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said, "I went on a journey with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and we passed by a man who was reciting the chapter 'Say, O disbelievers.' The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'This man has been saved from polytheism.' Then, the man recited the chapter 'Say, He is Allah, the One.' The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'Paradise is guaranteed for him.'"  

أحمد:٢٣١٩٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ

عَنْ شَيْخٍ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ فَقَالَ أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ قَالَ وَإِذَا آخَرُ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِهَا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

A man from the companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ narrated: I was traveling with the Prophet ﷺ when I heard a man reciting "Say: O disbelievers!" (Kāfirūn, 109:1) until he completed it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "He has been absolved from committing shrik (associating partners with Allah.)" Then we continued our journey and heard another person reciting "Say: He is Allah, the One." (Ikhlāṣ 112:1) The Prophet ﷺ said, "As for this person, his sins have been forgiven."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٧٩٧٤أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَسِيرُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ {قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ} [الكافرون 1] حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا قَالَ «قَدْ بَرِئَ هَذَا مِنَ الشِّرْكِ» ثُمَّ سِرْنَا فَسَمِعَ آخَرَ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ»
