A similar report was narrated from Abu Al-Ala bin Ash-Shikhkhir, from a man.

عَنْ رَجُلٍ نَحْوَهُ

[Machine] "I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, 'Recite the Quran from four people - Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa, Mu'adh ibn Jabal, and Ubay ibn Ka'b.'"

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ»

[Machine] "From a man amongst the companions of the Prophet ﷺ with the like of him."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِمِثْلِهِ

[Machine] Regarding the man who is recommended to another man, they said, "We choose for him to accept."

عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُوصِي إِلَى الرَّجُلِ قَالَا «نَخْتَارُ أَنْ يَقْبَلَ»

[Machine] He said about a man who had not performed Hajj: if he intends a voluntary pilgrimage or performs Hajj on behalf of someone else or performs Hajj in fulfillment of a vow, then this is the evidence of Islam. After that, he can perform Hajj on behalf of the man if he wishes, or on behalf of his vow.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي رَجُلٍ لَمْ يَحُجَّ فَحَجَّ يَنْوِي النَّافِلَةَ أَوْ حَجَّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَوْ حَجَّ عَنْ نَذْرِهِ قَالَ هَذِهِ حَجَّةُ الْإِسْلَامِ ثُمَّ يَحُجُّ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ بَعْدُ

[Machine] About a man who made a vow but did not mention anything? He said, "He will free a slave."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا وَلَمْ يُسَمِّ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ «يَعْتِقُ نَسَمَةً»

"عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: نُهِى عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَقُولُ لِلرَّجُلِ: قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ [تَعَالَى] وَجْهَكَ".

Muʿadh bin Jabal came to us in Yemen as a tutor and a ruler, and we (the people of Yemen) asked him about (the distribution of the property of ) a man who had died leaving a daughter and a sister. Muʿadh gave the daughter one-half of the property and gave the sister the other half.

عَنْ رَجُلٍ تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ ابْنَتَهُ وَأُخْتَهُ فَأَعْطَى الاِبْنَةَ النِّصْفَ وَالأُخْتَ النِّصْفَ

"عَنْ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ مَزْينةَ: أَنَّ النبيَّ ﷺ ضَحَّى فِي السَّفرِ".

"Tawaf of the House is a form of Salah, so speak little." (Sahih Mawquf)

عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ صَلاَةٌ فَأَقِلُّوا مِنَ الْكَلاَمِ۔»

"عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيّا يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، قَالَ: سَبَقَ الْكِتَابُ الْخُفَّيْنِ".

The Prophet [SAW] forbade (mixtures of) Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5547)

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الْبَلَحِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ

The Prophet [SAW] forbade (mixtures of) Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5547)

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الْبَلَحِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ

[Machine] About a man from the people of As-Sawad, whenever he converted to Islam under the guidance of a man, he said, "He understands him and inherits from him."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ السَّوَادِ إِذَا أَسْلَمَ عَلَى يَدَيْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ «يَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَيَرِثُهُ»

I asked Abu'l-'Aliyah whether a person who is sexually defiled and has no water with him, but he has only nabidh, can wash with it? He replied in the negative.

عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَاءٌ وَعِنْدَهُ نَبِيذٌ أَيَغْتَسِلُ بِهِ قَالَ لاَ

[Machine] About the man who harms the woman and then wears the garment, and sweats in it, and she does not see any harm in it.

عَنْ «الرَّجُلِ يُصِيبُ الْمَرْأَةَ ثُمَّ يَلْبَسُ الثَّوْبَ فَيَعْرَقُ فِيهِ فَلَمْ تَرَ بِهِ بَأْسًا»

[Machine] About a man who died and left his daughter with no known heir; he said, "She inherits all his wealth."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ ابْنَتَهُ لَا يُعْلَمُ وَارِثٌ غَيْرُهَا قَالَ «لَهَا الْمَالُ كُلُّهُ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who prayed alone behind the rows, so he said: "He should repeat the prayer."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ رَجُلٍ صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصُّفُوفِ وَحْدَهُ فَقَالَ يُعِيدُ الصَّلَاةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who prays alone behind the row. He said, "He should repeat it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ؟ قَالَ «يُعِيدُ»

عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَاءٌ وَعِنْدَهُ نَبِيذٌ أَيَغْتَسِلُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ لَا

"عَنْ رجل قال: عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الخَطَّابِ أَنْ لَا نَقْرَأَ مَعَ الإِمَامِ".

[Machine] I asked Abu Darda about a man from the people of Egypt, and he mentioned something from the Prophet ﷺ and something similar to it.

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ فَذَكَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

[Machine] About a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who was asked about the stray animal, and he said, "Know its watering places and its footsteps."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الضَّالَّةِ فَقَالَ «اعْرِفْ عِفَاصَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا»

[Machine] About a man who divorced his wife, then she had two menstruations, and then her menstruation ceased. How long should she wait before remarrying? He said, "Her waiting period is one year."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ طلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَحَاضَتْ حَيْضَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ ارْتَفَعَتْ حَيْضَتُهَا كَمْ تَرَبَّصُ؟ قَالَ «عِدَّتُهَا سَنَةٌ»

[Machine] About a man who left behind two sons and he advised to give an equal share to one of them if they were three, he said, "Advise to give a quarter."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ تَرَكَ ابْنَيْنِ وَأَوْصَى بِمِثْلِ نَصِيبِ أَحَدِهِمْ لَوْ كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً قَالَ «أَوْصَى بِالرُّبُعِ»

[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ and was asked about a man who fasts continuously, he said, "He neither fasts nor breaks his fast."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ قَالَ لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ

Malik related to me that he asked Ibn Shihab about a man who hired an animal, and then re-hired it out for more than what he hired it for. He said, "There is no harm in that."

عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَتَكَارَى الدَّابَّةَ ثُمَّ يُكْرِيهَا بِأَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَكَارَاهَا بِهِ فَقَالَ لاَ بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ

[Machine] About a man who puts his side near the two rak'ahs of the Dhuha prayer. He said, "Why does one of you roll like a donkey rolls?"

عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَضَعُ جَنْبَهُ عِنْدَ رَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى؟ قَالَ «مَا بَالُ أَحَدِكُمْ يَتَمَرَّغُ كَتَمَرُّغِ الْحِمَارِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who kissed his wife while they were both fasting, he said, "They have broken their fast."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَبَّلَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهُمَا صَائِمَانِ قَالَ «قَدْ أَفْطَرَا»

[Machine] That a peacock stayed with his companion until he became sick and missed the Hajj, and he once said about a man...

أَنَّ طَاوُسًا أَقَامَ عَلَى رَفِيقٍ لَهُ مَرِضَ حَتَّى فَاتَهُ الْحَجُّ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً عَنْ رَجُلٍ

"سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَطَأُ فِي نَعْلَيْهِ الأَذَى قَالَ: التُّرَابُ لَهُ طَهُورٌ".

"عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُعَذَّبُ فِى قَبْرِهِ مِنْ أَجْلِ النَّمِيمَةِ، وَآخَر يُعَذَّبُ فِى قَبْرِهِ مِنَ الْغِيبَةِ".

[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who greets another man by shaking hands, so he said, "He is more deserving of his life and death."

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيِ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ «هُوَ أَوْلَى بِمَحْيَاهُ وَمَمَاتِهِ»

[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ said, "The Prophet ﷺ addressed the people in Mina and ordered them to descend to their designated places. He said, 'Let the emigrants (Muhajirun) descend here,' and he pointed to the right of the Qibla. He then said, 'Let the Ansar (Helpers) descend here,' and he pointed to the left of the Qibla. Then the people descended around them, just as I have recorded in my book from a man who was present."

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَطَبَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ النَّاسَ بِمِنًى وَأَنْزَلَهُمْ مَنَازِلَهُمْ فَقَالَ لِيَنْزِلِ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ هَا هُنَا وَأَشَارَ إِلَى مَيْمَنَةِ ... الْقِبْلَةِ وَالْأَنْصَارُ هَا هُنَا وَأَشَارَ إِلَى مَيْسَرَةِ الْقِبْلَةِ ثُمَّ يَنْزِلُ النَّاسُ حَوْلَهُمْ كَذَا وَجَدْتُهُ فِي كِتَابِي عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَقَدْ

'The Prophet was asked about a man who forgets prayer or sleeps and misses it. He said: 'he performs it when he remembers it.'"

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَغْفُلُ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ أَوْ يَرْقُدُ عَنْهَا قَالَ يُصَلِّيهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about a man who died while having a pending fast of one month. He said that someone should be fed on his behalf every day.

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صَوْمُ شَهْرٍ قَالَ يُطْعَمُ عَنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِسْكِينٌ

"عَنْ وَهْبِ بن كيسانَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وعُمَرَ كانا يُصَلِّيَانِ الْعِيدَ قَبْلَ الخُطْبَةِ".

عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَإِنَّمَا يُقَالُ فِي الْإَخْبَارِ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ وَعَنْ رَجُلٍ إِذَا كَانَ غَيْرَ مَشْهُورٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قال حدثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ... عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَدَّثَنَا ... مُحَمَّدٌ حدثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ while he was on the pulpit preaching to the people about a man who divorced his wife thrice. So, he mentioned its meaning.

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ فَارَقَ امْرَأَتَهُ بِثَلَاثٍ؟ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who greets another man with a handshake. He replied, "He is the most deserving of people to have his life and death preserved."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيِ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِمَحْيَاهُ وَمَمَاتِهِ

The Messenger of Allah forbade men to perform ablution with the left over water by a woman. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 373)

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ وُضُوءِ الْمَرْأَةِ

AbuSallam said on the authority of a man who served the Holy Prophet ﷺ that whenever he talked, he repeated it three times.

عَنْ رَجُلٍ خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ حَدِيثًا أَعَادَهُ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ

[Machine] About the man who buys a young girl who has not yet reached puberty or become pregnant, for how long can he keep her? He said, "For three months."

عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَبْتَاعُ الْجَارِيَةَ لَمْ تَبْلُغِ الْمَحِيضَ وَلَا تَحْمِلُ مِثْلُهَا بِكَمْ يَسْتَبْرِئُهَا؟ قَالَ «بِثَلَاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ»
