I asked Yahya b. Yahya al-Ghassani about the word i'tabata bi qatlihi spoken by him (as mentioned in the previous tradition). He said: It means those people who fight during the period of commotion (fitnah), and one of them kills (the other people) presuming that he is in the right, so he does not beg pardon of Allah of that (sin). Abu Dawud said: And he said: The word fa'tabata means "he shed blood profusely"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Whenever a person visits a sick person in the evening, seventy thousand angels go out with him and seek forgiveness for him until morning. He will also have a garden (i.e., a reward) in Paradise. And whoever visits a sick person in the morning, seventy thousand angels go out with him and seek forgiveness for him until evening. He will also have a garden (i.e., a reward) in Paradise." This hadith has a valid chain of narrators according to the conditions set by the two sheikhs (i.e., Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not include it in their collections as a group of narrators did not include it due to the statement of Al-Hakam bin 'Utaybah and Mansur bin Al-Mu'tamir and their narrations from Ibn Abi Layla from Ali. However, I believe in the authenticity of the additional narrator.

Whenever the Prophet ﷺ became free from burying the dead, he used to stay at him (i.e. his grave) and say: Seek forgiveness for your brother, and beg steadfastness for him, for he will be questioned now. Abu Dawud said: The full name of the narrator Buhair is Buhair b. Raisan.

Kathir ibn Qays said: I was sitting with AbudDarda' in the mosque of Damascus. A man came to him and said: AbudDarda, I have come to you from the town of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a tradition that I have heard you relate from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I have come for no other purpose. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion.

The habit of doing istighfār is a way out from all grief and is a means for increase in one's rizq (provisions)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If anyone makes it a habit to seek forgiveness, Allah will make a way out for him from every constraint, and give him relief from every distress, and will provide rizq for him from where he does not expect."

[Machine] On the authority of Abu Usaid, companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who was present at the Battle of Badr and was their guardian. He said, Abu Usaid said, "While I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , a man from the Ansar came to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, is there any act of goodness that I can do for my parents after their death to benefit them?' He said, 'Yes, four characteristics: Praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their promises, and honoring their friends. And maintaining family ties that do not exist except through them. These are the acts of goodness that remain for you to do for them after their death.'"
