Allah puts mercy in the hearts of who He wills; Only the merciful will be shown Mercy

bukhari:5655Ḥajjāj b. Minhāl > Shuʿbah > ʿĀṣim > Abū ʿUthmān > Usāmah b. Zayd

a daughter of the Prophet ﷺ sent a message to him while he, along with Saʿd and Ubay, were with the Prophet ﷺ saying: My daughter is dying; please come." The Prophet ﷺ sent her his greetings and said, "It is for Allah what He takes, and what He gives; everything before Him has an appointed time, so you should hope for the reward and remain patient." She again sent a message, beseeching him by Allah, ˹to come˺. So the Prophet ﷺ got up. and so did we.

The child was placed on the lap of the Prophet ﷺ while his breath was irregular. Tears flowed from the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ. Saʿd said to him, "What is this, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said. "This Is Mercy which Allah has embedded in the hearts of whomever He wills of His servants. Allah does not bestow His Mercy on anyone other than the ones who are merciful."

Patience during a plague and submission to Will of Allah reaps the reward of martyrdom

bukhari:3474Mūsá b. Ismāʿīl > Dāwud b. Abū al-Furāt > ʿAbdullāh b. Buraydah > Yaḥyá b. Yaʿmar > ʿĀʾishah

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the plague. He told me that: "It is a Punishment sent by Allah on whom he wills, and Allah made it a source of mercy for the believers, for if one in the time of an epidemic plague stays in his country patiently hoping for Allah's Reward and believing that nothing will befall him except what Allah has written for him, he will get the reward of a martyr."

Reward for benevolence toward your parents is greater than the reward for Jihād

muslim:2549dSaʿīd b. Manṣūr > ʿAbdullāh b. Wahb > ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith > Yazīd b. Abū Ḥabīb > Nāʿim a freed slave of Um Salamah > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀṣ

There came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ a person and said: I owe allegiance to you for migration and Jihad seeking reward only from Allah. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Is one from amongst your parents living? He said: Yes, of course, both are living. He further asked: Do you want to seek reward from Allah? He said: Yes. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Go back to your parents and accord them benevolent treatment.

Rewards for those who help others in adversity and teach the Quran

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "(1) He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of this world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, (2) and he who makes things easy for the hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, (3) and he who conceals ˹the faults˺ of a Muslim, Allah would conceal ˹his faults˺ in the world and in the Hereafter. (4) Allah is at the aid of a servant so long as the servant is at the aid of his brother."

"(5) and he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah will make the path to Paradise easy for him through it, (6) and those who assemble in a house among the houses of Allah (mosques), and recite the Book of Allah and they learn and teach the Quran to each other, there would descend upon them sakīnah (tranquility) and mercy would envelop them, and the angels would surround them, and Allah mentions them in the presence of those near Him, (7) and one who is held back in doing ˹good˺ deeds, his ˹noble˺ lineage will not make him go ahead."

Virtues of those who gather in the masājid for the remembrance of Allah

abudawud:1455ʿUthmān b. Abū Shaybah > Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

from the Prophet ﷺ who said, "No people get together in a house of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah, and learning it together among themselves, but sakīnah (tranquility) comes down upon them, Mercy envelops them, angels surround them, and Allah makes a mention of them among those who are with Him."

Duʿāʾ of forgiveness for the one who passed away

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in a ˹funeral˺ prayer of a Muslim and I heard him say, allāhuma inna [name of person] fī dhimmatik, faqihī fitnat al-qabr (O Allah, so and so, son of so and so, is under Your custodianship, so protect him from the trial in the grave.)” ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ˹in his version˺ said, “fī dhimmatik, wa-ḥabli jiwārik, faqihī min fitnat al-qabr, wa-ʿadhāb al-nār, wa-ʾanta ahl al-wafāʾ, wa-al-ḥamd; allāhuma fa-ighfir lahu wa-irḥamhu, innaka anta al-ghafūr al-raḥīm (under Your custodianship and ˹holding on to˺ the rope of Your security, so protect him from the trial in the grave and the torment of Hellfire. For You are most capable of fulfilling ˹duʿāʾ˺ and deserving of praise. O Allah, forgive him and show him mercy for You are the forgiving and the Most Merciful.)"

In one sitting we would count the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying a hundred times: "rabbi ighfir lī wa-tub ʿalayya, innaka anta al-ttawwābu al-raḥīmu (My Lord, forgive me and pardon me for You are the Most Accepting of Repentance and the Most Merciful.)"

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the ten of Dhū al-Ḥijjah." A man asked: O Messenger of Allah, are they more virtuous or the count of days fighting in the cause of Allah? He said, "They are more virtuous than the count of days fighting in cause of Allah,"

"... and there is no day more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the Day of ʿArafah: for He descends to the worldly sky and boasts about the people of earth to those in the sky and He says: 'Look at My servants appearing disheveled and dusty. They have come from every far corner ˹of earth˺ seeking my Mercy and they do not see my punishment.' You will not see more ˹people˺ having salvation from the Hellfire than the Day of ʿArafah.'"
