13. Book of Pilgrimage (Ḥajj)
[Machine] Narrated by Abu Bakrah, the Prophet ﷺ stood on his camel and a man held its reins or bridle. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Which day is this?" We remained silent until we thought that he would name it other than its name. He then said, "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?" We said, "Yes." He then asked, "Which month is this?" Again, we remained silent until we thought that he would name it other than its name. He then said, "Is it not the month of Dhul-Hijjah?" We said, "Yes." He then asked, "Which city is this?" Again, we remained silent until we thought that he would name it other than its name. He then said, "Is it not the sacred city?" We said, "Yes." He then said, "Verily, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred among you like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours. Let the one who is present convey to the one who is absent. Verily, the one who is present is more likely to convey than the one who is absent."
[Machine] "I lost my camel, so I went to search for it in Arafah. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing with the people in Arafah, so I said, 'By Allah, this is from the blessings, so what is the reason for him standing here?'"
"I came to the Prophet in Jam (Al-Muzdalifah) and said: 'Is there Hajj for me?' He said: 'Whoever offers this prayer with us and observed this standing until he departed, and he departed before that from Arafat by night or by day, then his Hajj is complete. And he has completed the prescribed duties.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3042)
"I saw the Messenger of Allah stading in Al-Muzdalifah and he said: 'Whoever offers this prayer whith us here then stands with us and stood before that in Arafat by nightor by day, his Hajj is complete. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3039)
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "Verily, Allah brags to the angels of the inhabitants of Arafat and says, 'Look at My servants, they have come to Me disheveled and covered in dust.'"
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the ten of Dhū al-Ḥijjah." A man asked: O Messenger of Allah, are they more virtuous or the count of days fighting in the cause of Allah? He said, "They are more virtuous than the count of days fighting in cause of Allah,"
"... and there is no day more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the Day of ʿArafah: for He descends to the worldly sky and boasts about the people of earth to those in the sky and He says: 'Look at My servants appearing disheveled and dusty. They have come from every far corner ˹of earth˺ seeking my Mercy and they do not see my punishment.' You will not see more ˹people˺ having salvation from the Hellfire than the Day of ʿArafah.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every Arafah is a standing, so elevate from Al-Uranah. And every Muzdalifah is a standing, so elevate from Al-Muhassir. And every stone throwing in Mina is a sacrifice. And on every day of Tashreeq, there is sacrifice."

[Machine] He was one of the row of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he stood and praised Allah and invoked Him. When the polytheists dispersed, he pushed the people and shouted, "Peace be upon you." When he reached the valley, he poured water and performed ablution, then he mounted. When he reached Muzdalifah, he combined between Maghrib and Isha prayers. When he prayed Fajr, he stood and when the polytheists dispersed, he pushed the people and said, "Peace be upon you." He continued his journey until he entered the belly of Mina and said, "Collect pebbles for stoning the Jamarat." He continued to chant until he threw the pebbles.
[Machine] "Quraysh used to be in charge of the Kaaba, and they used to overflow from Mina, while the people overflowed from Arafat. Then Allah revealed, 'Then depart from where [all] the people depart'."
The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ returned from ‘Arafah. When he came to the mountain path , he alighted, urinated and performed the ablution, but he did not perform it completely. I said to him Prayer? He said “The prayer will be offered ahead of you.” He then mounted. When he reached Al Muzdalifah he alighted performed the ablution, performed it well. Thereafter iqamah for the prayer was called and he offered the sunset prayer. Then everyone made his Camel kneel down at his place. Iqamah was then called for night prayer and he offered it but he did not pray between them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1925)
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Yazid that Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari told him, that during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers together at Al-Muzdalifah. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 605)
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ prayed with them in that place, just like that."
The Arabs in the pre-Islamic period did not return from al-Muzdalifah till they saw sunlight at the mountain Thabir. The Prophet ﷺ opposed them and returned before the sunrise. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1938)
[Machine] "Aisha asked permission from the Prophet ﷺ for Sawda to go ahead of the group. Sawda was a heavy woman who used to walk slowly. The Prophet granted her permission and I also wanted to ask his permission."

[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on a mission at night."
I wish I had sought permission from Messenger of Allah ﷺ as Sauda had sought, and observed the dawn prayer at Mina and stoned at al-Jamra before the people had come there. It was said to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her): Did Sauda seek permission from him (the Holy Prophet)? She said: Yes. She was a bulky lady and so she sought permission from Messenger of Allah ﷺ (to proceed to mina from Muzdalifa ahead of him), and he granted her permission. (Using translation from Muslim 1290c)

Ibn ‘Abbas said I was among the weak members of his family whom the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ sent ahead on the night of Al Muzdalifah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1939)

[Machine] Sawdah was a large, timid woman, so she sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to spend the night with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted her permission. Aisha used to say, "I wish I had sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like Sawdah did."
