ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ جَوَازِ تَقْدِيمِ النِّسَاءِ مِنَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ إِلَى مِنًى بِاللَّيْلِ

ibnhibban:3861Ibn Salm > Ḥarmalah b. Yaḥyá > Ibn Wahb > ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Qāsim > al-Qāsim

[Machine] "Aisha asked permission from the Prophet ﷺ for Sawda to go ahead of the group. Sawda was a heavy woman who used to walk slowly. The Prophet granted her permission and I also wanted to ask his permission."  

ابن حبّان:٣٨٦١أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ قَالَ قَالَتْ

عَائِشَةُ «اسْتَأْذَنَتْ سَوْدَةُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنْ تَتَقَدَّمَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةً ثَقِيلَةً ثَبِطَةً فَأَذِنَ لَهَا وَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي اسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ»

Sauda asked the permission of the Prophet ﷺ to leave earlier at the night of Jam', and she was a fat and very slow woman. The Prophet ﷺ gave her permission.

قَالَتِ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ سَوْدَةُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ وَكَانَتْ ثَقِيلَةً ثَبْطَةً فَأَذِنَ لَهَا

I wish I had also sought permission from Messenger of Allah ﷺ as Sauda had. sought permission from him. 'A'isha did not proceed but with the Imam.

كَانَتْ سَوْدَةُ امْرَأَةً ضَخْمَةً ثَبِطَةً فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُفِيضَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ سَوْدَةُ وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ لاَ تُفِيضُ إِلاَّ مَعَ الإِمَامِ

[Machine] Sawda was a reserved and heavy woman. She sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ to relieve herself from the gathering before it even ended. And I wish I had sought permission from him and he had granted it to me. Al-Qasim disliked relieving oneself before the gathering had ended.  

أحمد:٢٥٠١٧حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَتْ سَوْدَةُ امْرَأَةً ثَبِطَةً ثَقِيلَةً فَاسْتَأْذَنَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْ تُفِيضَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقِفَ وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي كُنْتُ اسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ وَأَذِنَ لِي وَكَانَ الْقَاسِمُ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُفِيضَ حَتَّى يَقِفَ

[Machine] Translation: "That Soudah was a strong and heavy woman; she sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ to push ahead before his departure from a gathering, so he granted her permission. Aisha said, 'I wish I had sought permission just like her.'"

[Machine] Sawdah was a heavy-set woman, so she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to leave from a gathering before it ended. He granted her permission. Aisha said, "I wished that I had asked for his permission first, and he would have granted it to me." Qasim disliked leaving before the gathering ended.  

أحمد:٢٤٦٣٥حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

[Machine] She said, "I wish I had sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like Sawda did, so I could pray Fajr in Mina and return before the people come." They said to Aisha, "Did Sawda seek permission from him?" She said, "Indeed, she was a heavy-set woman who was slow, so he granted her permission."  

أحمد:٢٤٦٧٣حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي كُنْتُ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ سَوْدَةُ فَأُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ بِمِنًى وَأُوَافِي قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجِيءَ النَّاسُ فَقَالُوا لِعَائِشَةَ وَاسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ سَوْدَةُ؟ قَالَتْ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ امْرَأَةً ثَقِيلَةً ثَبِطَةً فَأَذِنَ لَهَا

[Machine] Sawdah was a large, timid woman, so she sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to spend the night with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted her permission. Aisha used to say, "I wish I had sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like Sawdah did."

«كَانَتْ سَوْدَةُ امْرَأَةً ضَخْمَةً ثَبِطَةً فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُفِيضَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ» وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَقُولُ «وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي كُنْتُ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ سَوْدَةُ»
