13. Book of Pilgrimage (Ḥajj)
“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he was on his she-camel, standing in Al-Hazwarah* saying: ‘By Allah, you are the best land of Allah, and the dearest of the land of Allah to me. By Allah, had I not been expelled from you I would never have left.’” *A place in Makkah. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3108)
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about Makkah: "How sweet of a land you are and how dear you are to me, and if it were not that my people expelled me from you, I would not have lived in other than you." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3926)
He heard the Messenger of Allah saying: "Indeed the Corner and the Maqam are two corundums from the corundum of Paradise. Allah removed their lights, and if their lights had not been removed then they would illuminate what is between east and the west." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 878)
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Verily, this stone has a tongue and lips that will bear witness for those who handle it on the Day of Judgement with sincerity."
I heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “This Stone will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be given two eyes with which to see, and a tongue with which to speak, and it will bear witness for those who touched it in sincerity.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2944)
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Verily, when Jibril dug Zamzam with his heel, the mother of Isma'il gathered the scattered sand.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'May Allah have mercy on Hajar. If she had left it, it would have become a flowing spring.'"
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "It is not permissible for anyone to carry weapons in Mecca."
[Machine] When Allah, the Most High, opened Mecca for His Messenger ﷺ , these two men from the Banu Layth tribe killed a man with pre-Islamic blood-money rights. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about it, so he stood up and said, "Verily, Allah, the Most High, has restricted the conquest of Mecca from the people and has bestowed it upon His Messenger and the believers. It is not permissible for anyone before me or after me. It was only made permissible for me for an hour during the day, and this hour has passed. Then, it is haram (forbidden), and its trees are not to be cut, its thorns are not to be broken, and its fallen branches are not to be picked up except by a reciter. And whoever is killed for it, he is the best of two options: either he is killed or he pays the blood money." Then, a man from Yemen known as Abu Shah stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, write it for me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Write it for Abu Shah." Then, Abbas stood up and said, "Except for the ithkur (a type of tree), for we make it in our graves and in our houses." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Except for the ithkur."
We have nothing except the Book of Allah, may He be exalted, and this document from the Prophet ﷺ. Madinah is a sanctuary from ʿAʿir to Thawr; whoever commits an offence in it or gives refuge to an offender, may the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people be upon him and no obligatory or nafl act of worship will be accepted from him.ʿ And he said: ʿProtection given by any Muslim is binding upon all of them. Whoever transgresses protection given by a Muslim, upon him be the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people, and Allah will not accept from him any nafl or obligatory act of worship. Whoever takes people as mawla without the permission of the ones who set him free, upon him be the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people, and Allah will not accept from him any nafl or obligatory act of worship.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1037)
‘Ali said “We wrote down nothing on the authority of the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ but the Qur’an and what this document contains.”. He reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying “ Madeenah is sacred from A’ir to Thawr so if anyone produces an innovation (in it) or gives protection to an innovator the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him. The protection granted by Muslim is one (even if) the humblest of them grants it. So if anyone breaks a covenant made by a Muslim the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him. If anyone attributes his manumission to people without the permission of his masters the curse of Allaah, angels and all men will fall upon him and no repentance or ransom will be accepted from him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2034)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "No Qurayshite shall be killed after this day except for one who resists until the Day of Resurrection." The Muslims did not find anyone from the Quraysh who was not obedient, except for one man named Al-As, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him as a resistant.
[Machine] We were informed by Al-Qa'nabi, Al-hajabi, and Abu al-Walid who said: Malik ibn Anas narrated to us from Al-Zuhri from Anas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Makkah and had a turban on his head. When he took it off, it was said, "This is the son of Khatl, hanging by the Kaaba's curtains." So he said, "Kill him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca: "Verily, this city is sacred, which Allah has made forbidden until the Day of Resurrection. Its game should not be frightened off, its thorny plants should not be uprooted, and its fallen objects should not be picked up except by the one who recognizes them. And its dwellers should not be expelled except for those who commit crimes." Al-Abbas said, "Except for the idhkhir (a type of plant) for it is used in our houses." So the Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "Except for the idhkhir and no migration (is allowed), but (there should be) jihad and intention. And when you are called for war, go forth."
The Prophet ﷺ entered (Makkah) during they year of the Conquest, and upon his head was a helmet (Mighfar). It was said to him: 'Ibn Khatal is clinging to the covering of the Ka'bah.' So he said: 'Kill him.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1693)
Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Allah's Apostle ﷺ entered on the day of Victory of Mecca wearing a black turban on his head. (Using translation from Muslim 1358b)
