ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ قَتْلِ الْقُرَشِيِّ فِي حَرَمِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا دُونَ ارْتِكَابِهِ مَا يُوجِبُ الْإِسْلَامُ قَتَلَهُ

ibnhibban:3718 – Abū Khalīfah > Musaddad > Yaḥyá > Zakariyyā > ʿĀmir > ʿAbdullāh b. Muṭīʿ > Muṭīʿ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "No Qurayshite shall be killed after this day except for one who resists until the Day of Resurrection." The Muslims did not find anyone from the Quraysh who was not obedient, except for one man named Al-As, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him as a resistant.  

ابن حبّان:٣٧١٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُطِيعًا يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ «لَا يُقْتَلُ قُرَشِيٌّ صَبْرًا بَعْدَ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ» وَلَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ أَحَدًا مِنْ كُفَّارِ قُرَيْشً غَيْرَ مُطِيعٍ وَكَانَ اسْمَهُ الْعَاصِ فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُطِيعًا

ahmad:15409 – Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Zakariyyā > ʿĀmir > ʿAbdullāh b. Muṭīʿ from his father

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest of Mecca saying, "No Quraishi will be killed after today and Islam has not reached any of the disobedient Quraish except that they became obedient." And his name was Aasi, so he was called Muti' which means the Prophet ﷺ has a saying regarding Qudamah ibn Abdullah ibn Ammar.  

أحمد:١٥٤٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ يَقُولُ لَا يُقْتَلُ قُرَشِيٌّ صَبْرًا بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْإِسْلَامُ أَحَدًا مِنْ عُصَاةِقُرَيْشٍ غَيْرَ مُطِيعٍ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ عَاصِي فَسَمَّاهُ مُطِيعًا يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺحَدِيثُ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the conquest of Mecca saying, "No Quraish shall be killed after today, and no one from the rebellious Quraish has embraced Islam except in obedience." And his name was As'a, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him Muti'a.  

أحمد:١٧٨٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ يَقُولُ لَا يُقْتَلُ قُرَشِيٌّ صَبْرًا بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْإِسْلَامَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ عُصَاةِ قُرَيْشٍ غَيْرُ مُطِيعٍ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ عَاصِيًا فَسَمَّاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُطِيعًا

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest saying, "No Quraishi shall be killed after this day with patience until the Day of Judgment." He said, "And no one from the disobedient Quraish embraced Islam except my father." He said, "His name was Al-Aas, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named him obedient."  

الحاكم:٧٧٢٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطِيعِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ يَقُولُ «لَا يُقْتَلَنَّ قُرَشِيٌّ بَعْدَ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ صَبْرًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ» قَالَ «وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ عُصَاةِ قُرَيْشٍ الْإِسْلَامَ غَيْرَ أَبِي» قَالَ «وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ الْعَاصِ فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُطِيعًا»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

And no one from the disobedient Quraysh embraced Islam except in obedience, and his name was Al-Aas. So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , named him Mu'ti'.  

الطبراني:١٧٨٩١a – حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ثنا عَامِرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُطِيعًا يَقُولُ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on the day of the conquest of Makkah: "After this day, no Quraishi will be killed unjustly until the Day of Judgment." No one from the rebellious Quraish was accepted as a Muslim except for a man named Al-'As, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ renamed him as Mu'ti' (the obedient one).
