God tests those for whom He wills goodness

bukhari:5645ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf > Mālik > Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Ṣaʿṣaʿah > Saʿīd b. Yasār Abū al-Ḥubāb > Abū Hurayrah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials."

Patiently give the rights due upon you and ask Allah for yours regardless of the condition

bukhari:3603Muḥammad b. Kathīr > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Zayd b. Wahb > Ibn Masʿūd

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Soon others will be preferred to you, and there will be things which you will not like." The companions of the Prophet ﷺ asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What do you order us to do (in this case)? " He said, "(I order you) to give the rights that are on you and to ask your rights from Allah."

Jannah is the reward for the blind when they show patience

bukhari:5653ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf > al-Layth > Ibn al-Hād > ʿAmr a freed slave of al-Muṭṭalib > Anas b. Mālik

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Allah said, 'If I deprive my slave of his two beloved things (i.e., his eyes) and he remains patient, I will let him enter Paradise in compensation for them.'"

Patience during a plague and submission to Will of Allah reaps the reward of martyrdom

bukhari:3474Mūsá b. Ismāʿīl > Dāwud b. Abū al-Furāt > ʿAbdullāh b. Buraydah > Yaḥyá b. Yaʿmar > ʿĀʾishah

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the plague. He told me that: "It is a Punishment sent by Allah on whom he wills, and Allah made it a source of mercy for the believers, for if one in the time of an epidemic plague stays in his country patiently hoping for Allah's Reward and believing that nothing will befall him except what Allah has written for him, he will get the reward of a martyr."

A believer is patient in trial and grateful in ease

muslim:2999Haddāb b. Khālid al-Azdī And Shaybān b. Farrūkh > Sulaymān b. al-Mughīrah Wa-al-Lafẓ Lishaybān > Sulaymān > Thābit > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Laylá > Ṣuhayb

the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "˹How˺ wondrous is the affair of a believer: for there is good in every affair of his, while that is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer: ˹i.e.,˺ if times of ease strike him, he is grateful which is good for him; and if times of distress strike him, he is patient, which is ˹also˺ good for him."

Trials will never end for believers

tirmidhi:2399Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Aʿlá > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > Muḥammad b. ʿAmr > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

"Trials will not cease afflicting the believing man and the believing woman in their self, children, and wealth, until they meet Allah without having any sin."

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

Whoever shows patience with a trial from daughters will be protected from Hellfire

tirmidhi:1913al-ʿAlāʾ b. Maslamah al-Baghdādī > ʿAbd al-Majīd b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever is tried with something from daughters, and he is patient with them, they will be a barrier from the Fire for him."

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan.

Allah puts his servants through in this world to cleanse them before their final accounting

tirmidhi:2396Qutaybah > al-Layth > Yazīd b. Abū Ḥabīb > Saʿd b. Sinān > Anas

"When Allah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He withholds his sins from him until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement."

And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath."

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Gharīb in this particular context.
