[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed Itikaf in the last ten days of the month of Ramadan in a dome made of palm leaves.  

الطبراني:٦٤٢٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ عَنْ أَبِي فَزَارَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ

«اعْتَكَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ خُوصٍ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to practice Iʿtikaf in the last ten days of the month of Ramadan.  

البخاري:٢٠٢٥ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ أَنَّ نَافِعًا أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ  

muslim:1171a – Muḥammad b. Mihrān al-Rāzī > Ḥātim b. Ismāʿīl > Mūsá b. ʿUqbah > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe i'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan.  

مسلم:١١٧١a – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الرَّازِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ  

muslim:1172a – Sahl b. ʿUthmān > ʿUqbah b. Khālid al-Sakūnī > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Qāsim from his father > ʿĀʾishah

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe i'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan.  

مسلم:١١٧٢a – وَحَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّكُونِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ  

muslim:1172b – [Chain 1] Yaḥyá b. Yaḥyá > Abū Muʿāwiyah [Chain 2] Sahl b. ʿUthmān > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth > Hishām [Chain 3] Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah And ʾAbū Kurayb Wa-al-Lafẓ Lahumā > Ibn Numayr > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

This hadith has been narrated by 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) through another chain of transmitters.  

مسلم:١١٧٢b – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ هِشَامٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُمَا قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ  

ahmad:26380 – ʿĀmir b. Ṣāliḥ > Yūnus b. Yazīd > Ibn Shihāb > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed i'tikaf in a small hut made of palm leaves, with a door made of matting, while people were in the mosque.  

الطبراني:١٨٠٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ الْكَاتِبُ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ النَّهْرَتِيرِيُّ ثنا مُبَشِّرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ قَالَ

«اعْتَكَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ خُوصٍ بَابُهَا مِنْ حَصِيرٍ وَالنَّاسُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ»
