[Machine] A man was killed during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so the Prophet ﷺ set his blood money at twelve thousand. This is indicated by his statement in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 74: "And they do not seek vengeance." Abu Abdur Rahman As-Sulami and Abu Bakr ibn Al-Harith Al-Faqih informed us that Ali ibn Umar Al-Hafiz narrated to us, who informed us that Abu Muhammad ibn Sa'id narrated to us, who narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Maymun Al-Khayyat Al-Makki, who narrated to us from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, who narrated from Amr ibn Dinar, who narrated from Ikrimah, who narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ decided on twelve thousand for the blood money. Muhammad ibn Maymun said: "He only said this to us once, and he would often say this about Ikrimah from the Prophet ﷺ ."  

قُتِلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ دِيَتَهُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا وَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {وَمَا نَقَمُوا} [التوبة 74] الْآيَةَ 16178 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ قَالَا أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْخَيَّاطُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِاثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا فِي الدِّيَةِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ وَإِنَّمَا قَالَ لَنَا فِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَكْثَرُ ذَلِكَ كَانَ يَقُولُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ in the book he wrote concerning the debts and upon the people of gold, one thousand dinars.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْكِتَابِ الَّذِي كَتَبَهُ فِي الدِّيَاتِ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الذَّهَبِ أَلْفُ دِينَارٍ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "To sit with a group of people who remember Allah from the morning prayer until the rising of the sun is dearer to me than the sun rising upon them. And to sit with a group of people who remember Allah from the afternoon prayer until the evening prayer is dearer to me than freeing eight of the offspring of Isma'il, whose ransom is twelve thousand each."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَأَنْ أَجْلِسَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ إِلَى أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ أَحَبُّ إِلِيَّ مِمَّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ وَلَأَنْ أَجْلِسَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ أَحَبُّ إِلِيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ ثَمَانِيَةً مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ دِيَةُ كُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا  

[Machine] Ali paid a blood money of twelve thousand.  

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ؓ قَضَى بِالدِّيَةِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا  

[Machine] Once, while she was praying, she noticed a snake near her, so she commanded it to be killed and it was killed. Then she saw in her dream that she had killed a Muslim man who came to listen to the Qur'an. She asked for his blood money, and it was mentioned that she received twelve thousand. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that this indicates that the blood money is twelve thousand.  

ؓ بَيْنَمَا هِيَ مَرَّةً تُصَلِّي إِذَا بِحَيَّةٍ قَرِيبَةٍ مِنْهَا فَأَمَرَتْ بِهَا فَقُتِلَتْ فَأُتِيَتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا أَقَتَلْتِ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا جَاءَ يَسْمَعُ الْقُرْآنَ؟ فَدِيهِ قَالَ فَأَخْرَجَتْ دِيَتَهُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا ورُوِّينَا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَنَّ الدِّيَةَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا  

[Machine] I glorify my Lord every day according to the number of my twelve thousand.  

إِنِّي لَأُسَبِّحُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قَدْرَ دِيَتَيِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا
