From his father who said that he saw the Prophet ﷺ making incisions (with a knife) into a piece of a lamb shoulder which he ate from, then he went to perform Salat without performing Wudu'.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ احْتَزَّ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ مَضَى إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

It was reported that Ibn 'Abbas said "I witnessed (that) the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate bread and meat, then stood for prayer and did not perform ablution. "

شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ ate a shoulder, then prayed without performing ablution.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate meat or a tendon, then he prayed without touching water.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا أَوْ عَرْقًا فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating a piece of lamb's meat, then he prayed without rinsing his mouth or touching water.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ عَرْقًا مِنْ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يُمَضْمِضْ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً

[AI] Ibn Abbas said, "I don't care about how you performed ablution. I bear witness that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat meat from the shoulder and then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution again." Sulaiman said, "This is accepted from both of them."

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَا أُبَالِي مِمَّا تَوَضَّأْتَ أَشْهَدُ لَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ لَحْمٍ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَمَا تَوَضَّأَ قَالَ وَسُلَيْمَانُ حَاضِرٌ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا

[AI] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ used to eat meat and then he would stand up for prayer without touching water.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَا يَمَسُّ مَاءً

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating meat, then he stood up for prayer without touching a drop of water.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَمَا يَمَسُّ قَطْرَةَ مَاءٍ

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ eating meat, then he would stand up for prayer without touching a single drop of water.

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَمَا يَمَسُّ قَطْرَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution, wiped over his socks, then stood up for prayer.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَوَمَسَحَ عَلَى نَعْلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating from the shoulder of a sheep, then he was invited to prayer and he prayed without performing ablution.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ دُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ eating meat or something similar without rinsing his mouth or touching water, then he performed the prayer.

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا أَوْ عَرْقًا فَلَمْ يُمَضْمِضْ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً فَصَلَّى

[AI] "He saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , taking a piece of meat from his shoulder and eating it. Then the mu'adhin came to him and handed him a knife, and the Messenger of Allah stood up for prayer without performing ablution."

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ احْتَزَّ مِنْ كَتِفٍ فَأَكَلَ فَأَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَأَلْقَى السِّكِّينَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat a piece of meat, then he stood up and rinsed his mouth, then he performed prayer without performing ablution."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَمَضْمَضَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating with his right hand from a shoulder (of meat), then he was called to prayer, so he prayed without performing ablution.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ كَتِفٍ ثُمَّ دُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] Narrated by Abu Rafi`, the slave of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and a shoulder of mutton was brought to him, so he ate it, then he stood up for the prayer without touching a drop of water.

عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأُتِيَ بِكَتِفِ شَاةٍ فَأَكَلَهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ قَطْرَةَ مَاءٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar from Abdullah Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate a shoulder of lamb and then prayed without doing wudu.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate from a shoulder, or he said, "Sweated from a rib," then he prayed without performing ablution.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ مِنْ كَتِفٍ أَوْ قَالَ «تَعَرَّقَ مِنْ ضِلَعٍ» ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] Jabir said, "Then I witnessed Abu Bakr eating some food, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution."

جَابِرٌ «ثُمَّ شَهِدْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took (the meat of) a (goat's) shoulder and offered prayer and did not perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 187)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفًا فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

[AI] Jabir said, "Then I witnessed Abu Bakr eating food, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution."

جَابِرٌ «ثُمَّ شَهِدْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍأَكَلَ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took (the meat of) a (goat's) shoulder and offered prayer and did not perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 187)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then he stood up for prayer and prayed without performing ablution or rinsing his mouth."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ وَلَمْ يَتَمَضْمَضْ»

[AI] He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat a shoulder of a sheep and then pray without touching water."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took (the meat of) a (goat's) shoulder and offered prayer and did not perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 187)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

[AI] Ibn Abbas said, "I do not care about what you have done with your ablution. I bear witness that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat a shoulder of meat, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution." He said, "And Sulaiman was present at that time."

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَا أُبَالِي مِمَّا تَوَضَّأْتَ أَشْهَدُ لَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ لَحْمٍ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَمَا تَوَضَّأَ قَالَ وَكَانَ سُلَيْمَانُ حَاضِرًا ذَلِكَ مِنْهُمَا

[AI] She saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating a shoulder and then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution.

أَنَّهَا «رَأَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

It was reported that Ibn 'Abbas said "I witnessed (that) the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate bread and meat, then stood for prayer and did not perform ablution. " (Using translation from Nasāʾī 184)

شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «أَكَلَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»

[AI] Ibn Abbas: I do not care about what you have performed ablution for, by Allah, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat bread and meat, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution.

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَا أُبَالِي مِمَّا تَوَضَّأْتَ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

"عَن ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَأكُلُ اللَّحْمَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَمَسُّ قَطْرَةً منْ مَاءٍ".

"عَنْ أَبِى رَافِع رَأيْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ أَكَلَ كتفًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلِى الصَّلَاةِ وَلم يمَسَّ مَاءً".

"أن امرأة لرسول الله ﷺ (*) جَنْبًا مَشْويًا فأكل منه، ثم قام إلى الصلاة ولم يتوضأ".
