The Prophet said: "When one of you is invited to eat then let him respond, if he is fasting then let him pray." Meaning: supplicate. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 780)

If any one of you is invited to a meal when he is fasting, he should say:" I am fasting."
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَقَالَ زُهَيْرٌ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ
If any one of you is invited, he should accept (the invitation). In case he is fasting, he should pray (in order to bless the inmates of the house), and if he is not fasting he should eat.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِنْ كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيُصَلِّ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُفْطِرًا فَلْيَطْعَمْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِنْ شَاءَ طَعِمَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ

that the Messenger of Allah said: “If anyone of you is invited to a wedding feast, let him accept.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1914)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِنْ كَانَ مُفْطِرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ وَإِنْ كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيَدْعُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ»

When any one of you is invited to a feast, he should accept it. He may eat if he likes, or he may abandon (eating) if he likes. Ibn Mathanni did not make mention of the word" feast". (Using translation from Muslim 1430a)
لا إِذا دُعِيَ أحدُكُمْ إلى طعامٍ فليُجبْ، فإِنْ شاءَ طَعِمَ وإنْ شَاءَ لمْ يَطعَمْ" .
