If any one of you is invited to a meal when he is fasting, he should say:" I am fasting."

tirmidhi:780 – Azhar b. Marwān al-Baṣrī > Muḥammad b. Sawāʾ > Saʿīd b. Abū ʿArūbah > Ayyūb > Muḥammad b. Sīrīn > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet said: "When one of you is invited to eat then let him respond, if he is fasting then let him pray." Meaning: supplicate.  

الترمذي:٧٨٠ – حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِنْ كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيُصَلِّ يَعْنِي الدُّعَاءَ  

tirmidhi:781 – Naṣr b. ʿAlī > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > Abū al-Zinād > al-Aʿraj > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet said: "When one of you is invited (to a meal) and he is fasting, then let him said: 'Indeed I am fasting.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ  

tabarani:9578 – Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > al-Thawrī > Abū Isḥāq > Qays b. Abū Ḥāzim > Ibn Masʿūd

[Machine] If anyone of you is offered food or drink while fasting, they should say, "I am fasting."  

الطبراني:٩٥٧٨ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

إِذَا عُرِضَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ طَعَامٌ أَوْ شَرَابٌ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ  

suyuti:1805a –

When one of you is invited (to a meal), and he is fasting, he should say that he is fasting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2461)   

السيوطي:١٨٠٥a –

"إِذَا دُعِيَ أحدُكُمْ إلى طعامِ وهو صائِمُ فليقلْ إني صَائمُ" .

suyuti:1808a –
