[Machine] Narrated to us Al-Hakim Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah Al-Hafiz, dictating on the month of Rabial-Akhir in the year 401: The Book of the Histories of the ancient prophets and messengers, and mentioning their virtues and stories along with the nations, as narrated by our master, the chosen one, peace be upon him, and upon them all. Verily, the Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail compiled it in this place from the authentic collection before the beginning of the legislation and mentioned the Companions, so I followed him. It mentions what has been narrated through authentic chains of narration regarding the mention of Adam, the father of mankind, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his wife Hawwa when they descended to the earth, which has not been mentioned by the two Sheikhs.

[Machine] About Ibrahim ar-Ru'a, the glad tidings of Ishaq came to him and he felt safe from what he feared. He said, "Praise be to Allah who granted me Isma'il and Ishaq in my old age. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication." Then Jibril (Gabriel) came to Sarah with the glad tidings and said, "Rejoice in a son named Ishaq, and after Ishaq, there will be Ya'qub (Jacob)." She hit her forehead in amazement, and that is what Allah says in the Quran, "So she struck her face and exclaimed, 'A barren old woman!'" (Surah adh-Dhariyat, 51:29). She said, "Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is a strange thing." They said, "Do you wonder at the decree of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable." Bukhari narrated it with 'Ikrama, and Muslim narrated it with As-Suddi, and the hadith is authentic in its chain of narration, and they did not exclude it.

[Machine] "Then there was Ishmael, son of Ibrahim, whom Allah made a light, a radiance, and a source of delight for his parents. He was among the best of people in appearance and most beautiful, and his speech was excellent. His hair and beard were curly and resembled the creation and character of Ibrahim. He was born to Ishmael who had two sons: Jacob and Essa. Jacob was better than both of them in appearance, speech, and beauty. Essa had abundant hair on his head, body, and face, and he resided in Rome." As narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub with this chain of narration.

24.7 [Machine] The mention of the one who said, "Indeed, the sacrifice is Isaac, son of Abraham, peace be upon them.

[Machine] About Ishaq bin Ibrahim the Prophet? Abu Hurayrah said, "Yes." Ka'b, when he saw Ibrahim about to sacrifice Ishaq, said, "By Allah! If Ibrahim does not disobey Allah during this, then I will never mislead any of them." So, Shaytan took the form of a man they knew and entered upon Sarah, Ibrahim's wife, and said to her, "Where is Ibrahim going with Ishaq?" Sarah said, "He went to fulfill some of his needs." Shaytan said, "No, by Allah! He did not go for that reason." Sarah said, "Then why did he go?" Shaytan said, "He went to sacrifice him." Sarah said, "But that cannot be! He would never sacrifice his own son." Shaytan said, "Indeed, he would, by Allah." Sarah said, "And why would he do that?" Shaytan said, "He claimed that Allah commanded him to do so." Sarah said, "Well, if Allah has commanded him, then he should obey Him." So Shaytan left Sarah's presence and went after Ibrahim. When he caught up to Ishaq as he was walking in the footsteps of his father, he said, "Where did your father go with you?" Ishaq said, "He went out for some of his needs." Shaytan said, "No, by Allah! He did not go with you for that reason. He went with you to sacrifice you." Ishaq said, "But my father would never sacrifice me." Shaytan said, "Indeed, he would, by Allah." Ishaq said, "But why would he sacrifice me?" Shaytan said, "He claimed that Allah commanded him to do so." Ishaq said, "By Allah! If Allah has commanded him, then he must obey Him." So Shaytan left Ishaq and hurried to Ibrahim. He asked him, "Where did you go with your son?" Ibrahim said, "I went out for some of my needs." Shaytan said, "No, by Allah! You did not go with him for that reason. You went with him to sacrifice him." Ibrahim said, "And why would I sacrifice him?" Shaytan said, "You claimed that Allah commanded you to do so." Ibrahim said, "By Allah! If Allah has commanded me, then I will do it." So when Ibrahim took Ishaq to sacrifice him, and Ishaq surrendered himself to Allah, Allah pardoned him and redeemed him with a great sacrifice. Ibrahim said to Ishaq, "My son, get up, for Allah has pardoned you." And Allah revealed to Ishaq, "I have granted you a supplication that I will answer for you." Ishaq said, "Then I supplicate to you that you answer the supplication of any of your servants who meets you, from the first to the last, and does not associate anything with you." So admit him to Paradise.

[Machine] Indeed, the rock at the root of Thabeer, on which Ibrahim slaughtered (his son) Ishaq, a white ram descended on it. It had a bleating from Thabeer, which bleating he remembered. So he narrated a lengthy story. Al-Waqidi said: Muhammad ibn Amr al-Uwaysi informed us on the authority of Abu al-Zubayr who narrated from Jabir, he said: When Ibrahim saw in a dream that he is slaughtering Ishaq, he took him by his hand and mentioned him regarding his length.

[Machine] The story of Isaac when Allah commanded Abraham to sacrifice him, and Allah bestowed Isaac upon Abraham on the night the angels departed from him. When Isaac was seven years old, Allah revealed to Abraham to sacrifice him and make him a sacrificial offering. On that day, the offering was accepted and raised, so Abraham kept it a secret from Isaac and all the people and confided in his beloved friend. Al-Ghazir As-Siddiq, who was the first to believe in Abraham's words, said to him, "Indeed, Allah does not test anyone like He tested you. But He wants to test you and examine you. So do not have any doubts about Allah, for He will make you a leader among the people. There is no power or strength for Abraham and Isaac except through Allah, the Merciful."
Then Wahb recalled a long narration until he said, "And Wahb informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Isaac will precede the people in a supplication that no one before him had received. And he will intercede for the people on the Day of Resurrection, so that they may be forgiven. And Allah blessed Abraham in that situation, saying, 'Listen to me, O Abraham, the most truthful of the truthful ones.' And He said to Isaac, 'Listen to me, O Isaac, the most patient of the patient ones.' Indeed, I have tested you today with a great test. No one from my creation has been tested as you have been. O Abraham, I tested you with fire, and you showed great patience that no one from the worlds could match. And I tested you, O Isaac, with sacrifice, and you did not hesitate to offer yourself. And you did not consider it of great significance in obeying your father. And you saw that as a small favor from Allah, as you hoped for the best reward and an easy meeting with Him. And today, I make a covenant with both of you, a covenant that I will not break, and I entrust you with yourself. O Abraham, Paradise has become obligatory for you, as you are my friend among the people of the earth, surpassing the men of the worlds. This is a virtue that no one before you has attained, nor will anyone after you. Abraham bowed down in prostration, showing great respect for what he had heard from Allah, expressing gratitude to Him. And as for you, O Isaac, wish for whatever you desire and ask of me, and I will fulfill your request.' Isaac said, 'I ask you, O my God, to choose me for yourself and intercede for me among your monotheistic worshippers. And let no servant meet you who associates anything with you except that I will save him from the Fire.' His Lord said to him, 'I have granted you what you asked for, and I guarantee you my protection and promise you my sovereignty. I will not go back on my word, and I will not withhold any favor from you. You will receive abundant blessings that will not be withdrawn.'"
This is the end of the narration mentioned by Abdul Moneim Ibn Idris.

[Machine] Lot was a prophet of Allah, and he was the nephew of Ibrahim. He was a fair-skinned man with a beautiful face, a slender nose, small ears, and long fingers. He had good manners and was the best of people in making others laugh. He was kind, intelligent, wise, and he caused the least harm to his people. When he was informed about the great harm that his people intended for him, he said, "If only I had strength [to defend myself] or could take refuge in a strong support!" (Surah Hud, 11:80). Al-Dhahabi remained silent about him in his summary.

[Machine] That Ibrahim, when he migrated to the land of Sham and they expelled him from there, he departed and with him was Sarah. She said to him, "Indeed, I have gifted myself to you." Then Allah inspired to him to marry her, and it was the first revelation that was sent to him, and Lot believed in it, as did his people in his lineage. He said, "Indeed, I am migrating to my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." So they expelled him from Babylonia to the sacred land until he reached Harran, and they expelled him from there until they brought him to the Jordan River, which contained a strong giant among the giants, but Allah destroyed him. Then Ibrahim returned to Sham, and with him was Lot. Allah informed Lot and sent him as a messenger and a caller to Allah in the cities known as the "mou'tafaqat", with Sodom being the greatest among them, followed by Amoud, Aram, Sa'our, and Sabour. The people of these cities numbered four thousand thousand men. Lot stayed in Sodom for twenty-five years, commanding them, forbidding them, and inviting them to Allah and to worship Him, and he left what they were engaged in of immorality and abominations. It was obligatory on Lot to offer hospitality to his guests, just as it was obligatory on Ibrahim and Ismael. But his people did not host anyone, rather, they only approached the men from the worlds and called the women. Allah denounced them for this through the tongue of their Prophet in the Quran, saying, "Do you approach men among the worlds and leave what your Lord has created for you as wives?" Then Wahb and Abdullah bin Abbas mentioned that which led them to have relations with men without women. They had gardens and fruits in their homes, as well as gardens and fruits on the outskirts of the road. Then they were afflicted with severe drought and hunger. So some of them said to others, "If you refrain from giving away your fruits to the travelers, you will have provisions for yourselves." They asked how they could do that, so some of them suggested to abduct any stranger they found in their land and marry him, claiming him as their own. They would take him and grab him. Thus, whenever people came upon them, they did this to them. This became their practice until Iblis went to those mountains in the form of a beautiful and radiant young boy. The people saw him and admired him, so they adored him, married him, took him, and grabbed him. Then he left. People would not come to them except that they would do the same to them. This became their practice until Allah sent Lot to them, forbidding them from doing this and warning them of punishment. They sought his forgiveness, and he said, "O my people, you have committed the obscenity that no one in the worlds has committed before you." Then the rest of the narration continues as narrated by Ibn Abbas, but it was not mentioned by Al-Dhahabi in his summary.

[Machine] "And about some of the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, it is narrated: When the angels came out from Ibrahim, peace be upon him, towards the city of Lut and reached the river of Sodom, they met the daughter of Lut, who was fetching water for her family. Lut's daughters were two in number. They said to her, 'O girl, is there any house nearby? She replied, 'Yes, your place is not far, but do not enter until I bring you what you need.' Then she went to her father and said, 'O my father, there are young men standing at the gate of the city. I have never seen such beautiful faces before. Your people should not see them, as they may harm them. Your people have been forbidden from hosting anyone until they said, 'Give us your guests so that we can harass them.' Nobody here, except the household of Lut, knows where they are. His wife went out and informed her people, saying, 'Indeed, there are men inside Lut's house whose faces I have never seen before.' So, Lut's people hurried towards him. When they came to him, he said, 'O my people, fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a single reasonable man? These are my daughters, they are purer for you. So, fear Allah and do not humiliate me in front of my guests.' They said, 'You know that we have no right in your daughters, and indeed, you know what we want.' When they failed to persuade him, he said, 'If only I had power against you or could take refuge in a strong support.' Then Jibril extended his wings, covering the sight of their eyes, and they went out stumbling, unable to see one another. They were saying, 'This is their plan. Verily, in the house of Lut, there is magic.' This is the saying of Allah, the Almighty, 'And indeed, they sought to tempt him away from his guests, but We blinded their eyes.' And they said, 'O Lut, indeed, we are messengers of your Lord. They will never reach you, so travel with your family in the cover of the night, and let not any among you look back except your wife. Indeed, she will be struck by what strikes them. So, proceed as you are commanded.' Then Allah led them to safety towards the land of Shaam. Lut said, 'Destroying them will take only a moment.' They replied, 'We have not been commanded to destroy them except at the break of dawn. Is not the morning near?' When morning came, Lut and his family left, except for his wife. This is the saying of Allah, the Almighty, 'Except the family of Lut; We will save them all, except his wife, who will be among those who remain.'

[Machine] "Regarding Hud, was Abu Al-Yaman the one who was born to them?" So Wahb said, "No, but he is the brother of Al-Yaman, and in the Torah, he is attributed to Noah. When tribalism arose among the Arabs and Muzar claimed that Ismail was the father of Yemen, so that he could be considered among the prophets and his offspring among them, even though he was not their actual father but their brother, and he was only sent to Aad. Wahb did not consider Muzar to be from Aad nor did he attribute their tribes to him, nor did he command their poets. On Earth, there was no nation that exceeded them in number, size, or strength. So when they saw the approaching wind, they said to Hud, "You frighten us with the wind." So they gathered their children, wealth, and livestock in a valley and stood at the entrance of that valley to protect their belongings and families from the wind. But the wind entered under their feet and swept them away." Wahb said, "When Allah sent Hud, son of Abdullah, son of Rabah, son of Harith, son of Aad, son of Awas, son of Iram, son of Sam, son of Noah, Allah scattered every particle of their sand and made it a part of the land. The dwellings of Aad were in its sands, and the land of Aad was the most fertile and abundant with fields, rivers, and gardens among the lands of the Arabs. But when Allah became angry with them and they transgressed against Him, as they were worshipping idols besides Allah, Allah sent upon them the barren wind." 24.10 [Machine] The Mention of the Prophet's Goodness PBUH
[Machine] That the Prophet Saleh ﷺ , from the Arabs, after Allah destroyed 'Ad and their affairs ended, Thamud succeeded them and they populated the land. Then they spread and transgressed against Allah. When their corruption became apparent and they worshipped other than Allah, Allah sent Saleh to them. They were an Arab people, and he was among their middle in lineage and the best of them in position. Their dwellings were made of rocks, in a valley called Al-Qura, eighteen miles between Al-Hijr and Al-Hijaz. Allah sent a young boy to them, and Saleh called them to Allah until he became a grown man. Only a few of the weak-hearted among them followed him. 'Ad and Thamud and those who were from those nations were destroyed. They were from the offspring of Luwaih, the son of Sam, the son of Nuh, and there was no prophet between Nuh and Ibrahim, except for Hud and Saleh." Al-Dhahabi did not mention this in his summary.
[Machine] Then there was Prophet Saleh, peace be upon him, and he resembled Jesus son of Mary in complexion, being reddish until white, and he had lustrous hair.

[Machine] The camel was wounded and had a mark on her right hand. He stayed with them for forty years, calling them to Allah from the time he was a young boy until he became old. They did not increase in anything except tyranny." - Narrated by Wahb with a chain of narration.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, when he arrived at Al-Hijr, he praised and glorified Allah. Then he said, "As for what follows, do not ask your Messenger for miracles. A righteous people requested a miracle from their messenger, so Allah sent them a she-camel. It used to come to them from this rock and would go out from that rock, and they would drink its water on the day it came." - According to Sahih Muslim.

24.11 [Machine] The mention of Prophet Shu'aib ﷺ
[Machine] "And Shu'ayb, the son of Mika'il the Prophet ﷺ , was sent by Allah as a prophet. He conveyed the message of Allah to his people and mentioned what Allah had revealed in the Quran. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "He is the eloquent speaker among the prophets" when mentioning him. Al-Dhahabi did not mention him in his summary."
[Machine] Indeed, Allah sent Shuayb to the people of Madyan, who were the inhabitants of Al-Aika. Al-Aika was a tree-covered area, and they were a people who disbelieved in Allah and were dishonest in their dealings with others in terms of measuring and weighing, as well as corrupting their wealth. However, Allah provided for them abundantly in terms of sustenance and granted them a comfortable life, drawing them closer to Him despite their disbelief. Shuayb said to them, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the balance. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day." This was part of what Shuayb said to his people, and their response to him was not mentioned by Al-Dhahabi in his summary.

[Machine] About the destruction of the people of Shuayb and the saying of Allah to them, "So the punishment seized them at sunrise. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day." Abdullah ibn Abbas said, "Allah sent upon them a scorching wind that took away their breaths and entered the cracks of their homes. Then, it entered the interior of their homes and took away their breaths again, so they fled from their houses towards the open area. Allah sent a cloud that provided shade from the sun, and they found it to be cold and pleasant. They called out to each other until they gathered under it, then Allah sent upon them fire." [Machine] He (Qatadah) heard that Allah sent the Prophet Shuayb ﷺ to two tribes - the people of Madyan and the people of Aikah. Aikah was a valley with twisted trees. When Allah intended to punish them, He sent upon them a severe heat and raised over them a cloud of punishment, like a thundercloud. When it approached them, they came out, hoping for its coolness. However, when they were underneath it, it rained upon them. This is the saying of Allah Almighty: "So He seized them with punishment of the Day of the Overhanging Cloud" [Surah Ash-Shu'ara, 189]. Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about summarizing this.

[Machine] "To do as we wish with our wealth" [Surah Hud 87]. He (Prophet Hud) said: It was one of the things they were forbidden from, which was withholding or cutting off coins. So they were punished on the day of the eclipse, for it was a great punishment. He said: Allah sent a shade from the cloud to them and Allah sent the Sun towards the Earth, so they all gathered under that shade. When they all gathered, Allah removed the shade and the Sun burned them, like how locusts burn in a fire. Goldziher remained silent on summarizing this.

[Machine] To put in context, this passage appears to be a sentence from a longer text or story. It seems to describe a situation involving two boys named Ya'qub and 'Isa (Jacob and Isaac), their mother, and possibly their father, named Ishaq (Isaac). Without additional information, it is challenging to provide a complete and accurate translation. However, based on the provided excerpt, a rough translation would be:
"She placed the two boys inside her stomach, and Ya'qub (Jacob) intended to come out before 'Isa (Isaac). 'Isa said, 'By Allah, if you come out before me, I will object in our mother's womb and I will kill her.' So, Ya'qub hesitated, and 'Isa came out before him. Then, Ya'qub took 'Isa's heel and came out, and 'Isa was named 'Isa because he was holding a staff, and Ya'qub was named Ya'qub because he came out holding 'Isa's heel. They were both in the womb, but 'Isa disobeyed and came out first. The two boys cried after their birth. 'Isa was more beloved to their father, and Ya'qub was more beloved to their mother. 'Isa was fond of hunting. When their uncle Ishaq grew older, he mentioned a long conversation or narration."
It's important to note that this translation might not be entirely accurate due to the possibility of misinterpretation or lack of context.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once encountered a Bedouin and treated him with respect. He said to him, "O Bedouin, ask for what you need." The Bedouin replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I want a female camel with her saddle, as my family relies on her for milk." The Prophet ﷺ repeated this request twice, then he said to him, "Are you unable to be like the old man of the Children of Israel?" His companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the old man of the Children of Israel?" He replied, "When Moses wanted to escort the Children of Israel, they took with them the oath that Allah had taken from them, to not leave Egypt until they took Joseph's bones with them. Moses asked them, 'Who among you knows where Joseph's grave is?' They replied, 'None of us knows except the old man of the Children of Israel.' So he sent for him and said, 'Guide me to Joseph's grave.' The old man replied, 'I will not do so unless you promise me a place in Paradise.' The Messenger of Allah disliked what she said, so it was said to him, 'Grant her her request.' He granted her request and she brought a lake and said, 'Let this water drain.' When it drained, she said, 'Dig here.' When they dug, they found the bones of Joseph, and as they brought them up from the ground, the path was lit up like daylight."
