24. Book of History of the Prophets and Messengers ؑ
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "The Prophet of Allah, Dawud (David), said, 'Oh Lord, I hear people saying that Isaac has invoked You, but indeed, Isaac has invoked You for himself.'"
[Machine] About Ibrahim ar-Ru'a, the glad tidings of Ishaq came to him and he felt safe from what he feared. He said, "Praise be to Allah who granted me Isma'il and Ishaq in my old age. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication." Then Jibril (Gabriel) came to Sarah with the glad tidings and said, "Rejoice in a son named Ishaq, and after Ishaq, there will be Ya'qub (Jacob)." She hit her forehead in amazement, and that is what Allah says in the Quran, "So she struck her face and exclaimed, 'A barren old woman!'" (Surah adh-Dhariyat, 51:29). She said, "Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is a strange thing." They said, "Do you wonder at the decree of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable." Bukhari narrated it with 'Ikrama, and Muslim narrated it with As-Suddi, and the hadith is authentic in its chain of narration, and they did not exclude it.

[Machine] "Then there was Ishmael, son of Ibrahim, whom Allah made a light, a radiance, and a source of delight for his parents. He was among the best of people in appearance and most beautiful, and his speech was excellent. His hair and beard were curly and resembled the creation and character of Ibrahim. He was born to Ishmael who had two sons: Jacob and Essa. Jacob was better than both of them in appearance, speech, and beauty. Essa had abundant hair on his head, body, and face, and he resided in Rome." As narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub with this chain of narration.
[Machine] "Glad tidings of Prophethood were given twice, once at the time of his birth and once at the time of his appointment." The chain of narration is authentic and it was not mentioned in Sahih.
