16. Tribes (6/10)
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ and the wife of the Prophet, she said she heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whoever prays four units before noon prayer and four units after it, Allah will forbid him from the Hellfire."
Mu'awiyah ibn AbuSufyan asked his sister Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ: Would the apostle of Allah ﷺ pray in the clothe in which he had an intercourse? She said: Yes, when he would not see any impurity in it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 366)
[Machine] He entered the house of Umm Habibah, the daughter of Abu Sufyan, and she informed him that she was sent by the Prophet ﷺ from an assembly during the night. Ibn Bakr also said that the Prophet ﷺ sent her from an assembly during the night.
[Machine] He entered upon Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, so she offered him a drink. She then said to him, "O son of my brother, don't you want to perform ablution?" He replied, "I have not been in a state of impurity." She said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Perform ablution from what the fire touches'."
[Machine] "Some people from the people of Yemen came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he taught them prayer, Sunnah, and obligations. Then they said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we have a drink that we make from wheat and barley.' He said, 'The gabirah?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do not drink it.' Then, after two days, they mentioned it to him again and he said, 'The gabirah?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do not drink it.' Then, when they wanted to leave, they asked him about it again and he said, 'The gabirah?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do not drink it.' They said, 'But they do not leave it.' He said, 'Whoever does not leave it, then strike his neck.'"
[Machine] "Ali bin Ishaq said, 'He (referring to the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ ) traveled to Najashi (the Negus of Abyssinia) and passed away. And indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Habiba, and she was in the land of Abyssinia. The Negus married her to him and her dowry was four thousand dirhams. Then he prepared her from his side and sent her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with Sharhabeel ibn Hasana as her companion and all her belongings were from the Negus. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not send anything to her. The dowry of the Prophet's wives ﷺ was four hundred dirhams.'"
[Machine] On the authority of Al-Jarrah, the slave of Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , who said that he heard him inform Abdullah bin Umar that Umm Habibah told him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Angels do not accompany a caravan with a bell."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "I have seen what my Ummah will face after me, some of them will shed the blood of others. This was predestined by Allah the Exalted, just as it had been predestined for previous nations before them. So I asked Allah to grant me intercession for them on the Day of Resurrection, and He did." Abdullah said, "I said to my father, 'There are people here who narrate this hadith from Abu Al-Yaman, from Shuayb, from Al-Zuhri.' He replied, 'This is not from the narration of Al-Zuhri, rather it is from the narration of Ibn Abi Husayn.'"
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in a day apart from the obligatory prayers, Allah (SWT) will build for him, or there will be built for him, a house in Paradise.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1808)
“Marry my sister 'Azzah.” The Messenger of Allah said: 'Would you like that? “She said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah. I am not the only one living with you and the one who most deserves to share good thingswith me is my sister.” The Messenger of Allah said: “But that is not permissible for me.” She said: “But we throught that you wanted to marry Durrah bint Abi Salmah.” The Messenger of Allah said: The daughter of Umm Salamah?” She said: “Yes” The Messenger of Allah said: “Even if she were not my step-daughter who is under my care, she would not be permissible for me, because she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding. Tuwaibah breastfed both her father and I. So do not offer your sisters and daughters to me for marriage.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1939)

[Machine] From Habibah bint Ummi Habibah binti Abi Sufyan, from her mother Ummi Habibah, from Zainab the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , she said: "Sufyan said, 'There are four women who said, 'The Prophet ﷺ woke up from sleep with his face red and said, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. Woe to the Arabs from the evil that has approached. Today, a breach has been opened in the barrier of Gog and Magog like this (indicating with his fingers)."" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will we perish while there are righteous people among us?" He said ﷺ , "Yes, when immorality becomes widespread."
That one day Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her in a state of fear and said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah! Woe to the Arabs from the Great evil that has approached (them). Today a hole has been opened in the dam of Gog and Magog like this." The Prophet ﷺ made a circle with his index finger and thumb. Zainab bint Jahsh added: I said, "O Alllah's Apostle! Shall we be destroyed though there will be righteous people among us?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, if the (number) of evil (persons) increased." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7135)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while he was holding his index finger with his thumb and he was saying, "Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has approached. Today, a breach has been made in the wall of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) the size of a dirham." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we be destroyed while there are righteous people among us?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Verily, Allah is more merciful in fulfilling the duty of Hajj on behalf of your father."

The Messenger ﷺ said to her, "As for you, maintain your veiling from him, for he is not your brother and does not have any inheritance rights."

16.54 [Machine] Mother Salim
[Machine] She said: "O Messenger of Allah, Anas is your servant, pray to Allah for him." He said: "O Allah, increase his wealth and offspring, and bless him in what You have given him." [Machine] Zaid does not leave until the last of their affair has been settled in the house. Ibn Abbas said, "When she completes the tawaf of the Day of Sacrifice and settles with her husband, she may leave if she wishes, and she should not wait." The Ansar said to Ibn Abbas, "O Ibn Abbas, if you oppose Zaid, we will not follow you." Ibn Abbas said, "Ask Umm Sulaim." So they asked her about that, and she informed them that Safiyyah bint Huyayy bin Akhtab had experienced the same. Aisha said, "Disappointment to you, you have confined us!" This was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he commanded her to leave. Umm Sulaim was informed that she had encountered this, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded her to leave.

[Machine] Zaid will be her last pilgrimage around the Kaaba, and Ibn Abbas said, "If she wants, she can go." The Ansar (people of Medina) said, "We will not follow you, O Ibn Abbas, while you go against Zaid." He said, "Ask Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet." She said, "I had my period after circumambulating the Kaaba on the day of sacrifice, and the Messenger of Allah commanded me to leave for Mina. Safiyyah also had her period." Aisha said, "You have caused us disappointment. Indeed, you have prevented us." The Prophet was informed about this and he said, "Let her go, and let her leave."

16.55 [Machine] Durrat bint Abi Lahab
[Machine] I was with Aisha when the Prophet ﷺ entered and said, "Bring me water for ablution." So Aisha and I hurriedly brought a container of water, and I took it first and performed ablution. Then, he raised his eyes or his gaze towards me and said, "You are from me and I am from you." Aisha said, "A man was called and he was asked, 'What have I done?' He said, 'You are the most knowledgeable in matters of religion and the most compassionate towards relatives.' He mentioned two other qualities that I did not memorize."

[Machine] Marwan bin Abdullah ibn Uthbah sent a message to Subay'ah bint Al-Harith, asking her about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given her. She informed him that she was under the guardianship of Saad ibn Khwala, but he passed away during the Farewell Hajj. She said that she had given birth to her child before four and ten months had passed since his death. Abu As-Sanabil, Ibn Ba'kkak, met her when she was experiencing postpartum bleeding and had applied kohl. He told her to wait for forty menstrual periods or their equivalent before considering marriage again. She then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him about what Abu As-Sanabil had said. The Prophet ﷺ told her that she was allowed to remarry as soon as she completed her postpartum bleeding.
[Machine] Indeed, Abdullah bin Uthaba wrote to Abdullah bin al-Arqam, commanding him to enter upon Subay'ah bint al-Harith and ask her about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had taught her. She claimed that she had been under the guardianship of Saad ibn Khawla, so he mentioned the matter.
[Machine] He said about her, "So he entered upon her and mentioned the conversation."
[Machine] I entered upon Subay'ah bint Abi Barzah al-Aslamyyah and asked her about her situation. She said, "I was with Sa'd ibn Khawlah and he passed away, so I did not stay with him for more than two months until I gave birth." She said, "Abu Al-Sanabil Ibn Ba'akkak, the brother of Bani Abdul-Dar, proposed to me, and I prepared myself for marriage." She said, "My brother-in-law, Hamwi, entered upon me and I was menstruating and prepared, and he asked, 'What do you want, O Subay'ah?'" She said, "I said, 'I want to get married.'" He said, "By Allah, you cannot have a husband until you complete four months and ten days." She said, "So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him, and he said, 'You are permissible for marriage, so get married.'"

16.57 [Machine] Anisa Bint Khabib
[Machine] I heard my aunt saying, and she was arguing with the Prophet ﷺ . She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: 'If Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer at night, then eat and drink until Bilal gives the call to prayer, or if Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, then eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer.' He used to go up and down (between the two calls to prayer), so we would rely on that and say, 'As long as you are (the Messenger of Allah), we will continue until we have our pre-dawn meal.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the son of Umm Maktoom calls the Adhan, eat and drink, and when Bilal calls the Adhan, do not eat or drink." She (the woman) said, "What if the woman still has some leftover food from her Sahur (pre-dawn meal), and she says to Bilal, 'Wait until I finish my Sahur?'"
[Machine] The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If Ibn Umm Maktum or Bilal calls for the evening prayer, then continue eating and drinking until Bilal or Ibn Umm Maktum calls for the prayer. It was only that one of them would give the call to prayer while the other would ascend and we would take his hand and say, 'You are still in a state of fasting until we have finished suhoor (pre-dawn meal).' "
16.58 [Machine] Mother Ayyub
[Machine] I went to Um Ayoub's house, where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed. She told me about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that they were served food in which some of these words were mentioned. They brought it close to him, but he disliked it and said to his companions, "Eat, for I am not like any of you. I fear that my companion, meaning the angel, might be harmed."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Quran was revealed with seven Ahruf (recitations). Whichever one you recite, you have done well."
16.59 [Machine] Habiba binat Sahl
She (Habibah) was the wife of Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shimmas. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out one morning and found Habibah by his door. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who is this? She replied: I am Habibah, daughter of Sahl. He asked: What is your case? She replied: I and Thabit ibn Qays, referring to her husband, cannot live together. When Thabit ibn Qays came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: This is Habibah, daughter of Sahl, and she has mentioned (about you) what Allah wished to mention. Habibah said: Messenger of Allah, all that he gave me is with me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Thabit ibn Qays: Take it from her. So he took it from her, and she lived among her people (relatives). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2227)
16.60 [Machine] Um Habiba bint Juhsh
[Machine] She was experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding, so she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for advice. He instructed her to perform the ritual bath (ghusl) after every prayer, even if she had discharged blood from her cervix, and if the color of the blood was evident on the water. She should then proceed to offer her prayer.
[Machine] I experienced bleeding for seven years, so I complained about it to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He said, "This is not menstruation, but rather a vein. So perform ablution. She used to perform ablution for every prayer, and she used to wash herself in a vessel and see the yellow discharge of blood in it."
16.61 [Machine] Jadama Bint Wahb
[Machine] "I attended the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among a group of people, and he was saying, 'I have intended to prohibit Ghilaah (the practice of immediately divorcing a wife after she has been divorced three times). Then I looked at the Romans and Persians, and I saw that they practice this (allow their children to inherit their wealth and not divorce their wives after three divorces), and it does not harm their children. This is something.' Then they asked him about Al-Azal (coitus interrupts), and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'It is the secret genital discharge (during sexual intercourse) and it is mentioned in the verse: And when the baby girl buried alive will be asked (81:8).' "

"Respond to the one who asks even with a sheep's foot." According to the narration of Harun: "With a sheep's burned foot." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2565)
[Machine] His grandmother, Hawa, said to him, "Feed him dates." They said, "We do not have any." She said, "Then give him water." They said, "What a wonder! How can we feed him something we do not have?" She said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Do not turn away a beggar, even if it is with a burnt hoof.'"

She reported: I said Messenger of Allah, our road to the mosque has an unpleasant stench; what should we do when it is raining? He asked: Is there not a cleaner part after the filthy part of the road? She replied: Why not (there is one)! He said: It makes up for the other. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 384)
