[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have woken up and have not performed the Witr prayer." The Prophet replied, "Verily, Witr is performed at night." [Machine] He (the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) was called by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from behind the chambers, and he said, "O Muhammad, indeed my praise is good and my criticism is bad." He (the Prophet) said, "That is for Allah ﷻ (to judge)."
[Machine] He informed me that Al-Agharr, who was a man from the tribe of Muzaynah, had companionship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He had more auspicious dates than a man from the Banu Amr ibn Awf, and they had a dispute over it. He said, "So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he sent Abu Bakr As-Siddiq with me." He said, "And whenever we met someone, they greeted us, so Abu Bakr would say, 'Shouldn't I see people initiating the greeting of peace to you so that they would receive the reward? Therefore, initiate the greeting of peace to them and you will have the reward.'"
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to get some dates from a man among the Ansar, so I went to him and requested them. I spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, 'Go with him, O Abu Bakr, and take his dates.' Abu Bakr promised me at the mosque after Fajr prayer, and I found him where he had promised. We set off, and whenever Abu Bakr saw a man from a distance, he would greet him. Abu Bakr said, 'Do you not see how the people show their respect for you? None precedes you in greeting with peace.' So, whenever a person appeared, we would greet him with peace before he greeted us."

Verily, my salah, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the all that exists. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am one of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the Sovereign and there is none worthy of worship but You. I am Your slave, I have wronged myself and I acknowledge my sin. Forgive me all my sins for no one forgives sins but You. Guide me to the best of manners for none can guide to the best of them but You. Protect me from bad manners for none can protect against them but You. I am at Your service, all goodness is in Your hands, and evil is not attributed to You. I rely on You and turn to You, blessed and exalted are You, I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You." [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever washes a deceased person and keeps it a secret, forty major sins will be forgiven for him. And whoever digs a grave for his brother until he has finished it, it is as if he has provided a dwelling place for him once, until he is resurrected."

٢۔٣٧۔٢ وَمَا رَوَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ
[Machine] Narrated by Abu Rafi, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ : I was a servant to Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib and I had already embraced Islam, along with Umm al-Fadl. Abbas also embraced Islam but he kept his conversion a secret due to fear of his people. Abu Lahab, on the other hand, had turned away from the Battle of Badr and sent Akhtab ibn Hisham in his place. Akhtab owed a debt to Abbas, so he asked him to cover his debt in return for joining the battle. Abbas agreed, and when news of the battle arrived, Allah inflicted punishment upon Abu Lahab. I was weak at that time and I used to carve these (stone) vessels in a small room. Abu Lahab passed by me and, by Allah, I was sitting in the room carving the vessels while Umm al-Fadl was by me. Abu Lahab saw her and started dragging her by her legs. I said to him, "This is Umm al-Fadl, the sinner, the wife of Abbas, and you see her dragging on the ground?" He replied, "O nephew! Go away and mind your own business." So, Abu Lahab went away and sat next to the pillar in front of the room, with his back towards me. People said, "This is Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith." Then Abu Lahab called me saying, "O nephew! Come here." I went to him and he said, "O nephew! Look at the people. How did they react?" I said, "By Allah, they did not move except when we met them and they attacked us and we defended ourselves. They killed us as they pleased and captured us as they pleased."
By Allah, when I saw the people, I could not bear it. I took the pillar of the room and said, "By Allah, these are the angels." Abu Lahab raised his hand to slap me, but I ducked and his blow struck my face instead. Umm al-Fadl witnessed this and she held him back. I then picked up a piece of the pillar and hit him with it, causing a deep wound on his head. She said, "You enemy of Allah, have you oppressed him when you see his master absent?" Abu Lahab became submissive and, by Allah, he did not live for more than seven nights before Allah struck him with a disease that killed him. His sons left him for two or three nights until they buried him. A man from Quraish said to his sons, "Aren't you ashamed? Your father has died and you have left him in his house." They replied, "We fear this disease." Quraish used to avoid the disease like they would avoid the plague. The man said, "I will go with you." They replied, "By Allah, they only washed him by throwing water at him from distant places and then they carried him and threw him on top of a wall. They stoned him to death."
