Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Muzabana; and Muzabana is the selling of fresh dates for dried old dates by measure, and the selling of fresh grapes for dried grapes by measure.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الزَّبِيبِ بِالْكَرْمِ كَيْلاً

Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Muzabana; and Muzabana means the selling of fresh dates (on the trees) for dried dates by measure and also the selling of fresh grapes for dried grapes by measure.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلاً

Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Muzabana and Muhaqala; and Muzabana means the selling of ripe dates for dates still on the trees.

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ forbade Muzabana and Muhaqala.

نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased them) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ having forbidden Muzabana, and Muzabana implies the selling of fresh dates for dry dates by measuring them out and the selling of raisins by measure for grapes.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلاً

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ having forbidden Muzabana, and Muzabana is the selling of dry dates by measure for fresh dates and the selling of raisins by measure for grapes and selling of all Ports of fruits on the basis of calculation.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ ثَمَرِ النَّخْلِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الزَّبِيبِ بِالْعِنَبِ كَيْلاً وَعَنْ كُلِّ ثَمَرٍ بِخَرْصِهِ

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding Muhaqala and Muzabana.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ having forbidden Mazabana and Muhaqala. Muzibana means the buying of fruits on the trees and Muhaqala is the renting of land.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ كِرَاءُ الأَرْضِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muzabanah, muhaqalah and thunya except it is known.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَعَنِ الثُّنْيَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يُعْلَمَ

the messenger of Allah forbade Muzabana, and Muzabanah means selling fresh dates still on tree for dried dates by measure, and selling fresh grapes for raisins by measure.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلاً

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ

Rafi bin Khadij and Sahl Bi Abi Hathamah narrated that the Messenger of Allah forbade Muzabanah, which means selling fresh dates still on the tree for dried dates, except in cases of 'Araya, for which he gave permission. (Sahih

"The Messenger of Allah forbade Muhaqalah, Muzahanah, Mukhabarah, Mu'awamah, and selling with an exception unless it is defined but he gave concession allowing 'Araya.

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ اسْتِكْرَاءُ الأَرْضِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited muhaqalah and muzabanah." Abdullah said, "Muhaqalah is the selling of crops for crops, and they say that Ibn Muzayyab also said the same."

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ» قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ الْمُحَاقَلَةُ بَيْعُ الزَّرْعِ بِالْبُرِّ وَقَالُوا كَذَلِكَ يَقُولُ ابْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَبِعْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ وَنَهَى عَنِ النَّجْشِ وَنَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ حَبَلِ الْحَبَلَةِ وَنَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلًا وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلًا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the Muhaqalah and the Muzabanah." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2267)

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ الْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited muzabanah, muhaqalah, and muzabanah. Muzabanah is buying the fruit at the top of the palm tree with dates as weight, and muhaqalah is renting the land.

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the practice of "muzabana" and "muhakala," and "muzabana" is the act of buying fruit with dates at the top of palm trees, and "muhakala" is the act of renting land in exchange for wheat.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِوَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ اسْتِكْرَاءُ الْأَرْضِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muzabana. Muzabana was selling fresh dates for dried dates by measure, and selling grapes for raisins by measure.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ بَيْعُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلاً وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلاً

Yahya related to me from Malik from Da'ud ibn al-Husayn from Abu Sufyan, the mawla of Ibn Abi Ahmad, from Abu Said al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muzabana and muhaqala. Muzabana was selling fresh dates for dried dates while they were still on the trees. Muhaqala was renting land in exchange for wheat.

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid mutual deception and spying, and he permitted the sale of non-mature fruits. He also allowed renting land for one-third or one-fourth of its yield, and acquiring the wheat in exchange for the ears of corn. I said to Sufyan, "Is this the interpretation of Ibn Juraij's hadith?" He said, "Yes."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُخَابَرَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ وَرَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا وَالْمُخَابَرَةُ كِرَاءُ الْأَرْضِ بِالثُّلُثِ وَالرُّبُعِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ السُّنْبُلَةِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ هَذَا التَّفْسِيرُ فِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade engaging in "muzabana" and "muhaqala". Muzabana is the act of buying fruit by exchanging dates at the top of palm trees, and muhaqala is the act of seizing land forcefully.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بالتمر فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ اسْتِكْرَاءُ الْأَرْضِ

"نَهَى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ عَنِ المُزَابَنَةِ، وَالمُزَابَنَةُ بَيع الثَّمَرِ بِالثَّمْرِ كيْلًا، وَبَيع الكَرْم بِالزبيبِ كيْلًا".

"عَن ابن المُسَيَّب قَال: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عن المُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحاقَلَة. والمُزَابَنَةُ: اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمر، وَالْمحَاقَلَةُ اشْتِراء الزَّرْع بِالحنطَة، وَاسْتِكْراء الأَرْضِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ قَال الزُّهْرِىُّ: فَسَأَلْتُ ابن المُسَيَّب عَنْ كِرائِهَا بِالذَّهَب وَالْوَرِقِ، فَقَال: لَا بَأسَ بِهِ".
