Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is guileless and generous while the corrupt is a swindler and miserly."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمُؤْمِنُ غِرٌّ كَرِيمٌ وَالْفَاجِرُ خَبٌّ لَئِيمٌ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمُؤْمِنُ غِرٌّ كَرِيمٌ وَالْفَاجِرُ خِبٌّ لَئِيمٌ

tirmidhi:1964 – Muḥammad b. Rāfiʿ > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Bishr b. Rāfiʿ > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

"The believer is naively noble and the stingy person is deceitfully treacherous."

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Gharīb and we do not know of any other Ḥadīth except through this particular context.

الترمذي:١٩٦٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمُؤْمِنُ غِرٌّ كَرِيمٌ وَالْفَاجِرُ خِبٌّ لَئِيمٌ

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

ibnmajah:607 – Muḥammad b. al-Ṣabbāḥ > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > ʿAmr b. Dīnār > Ibn al-Sāʾib > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Suʿād > Abū Ayyūb

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Water (of bath) is for water (of seminal discharge).'"
