٤٩۔ بَابُ الْفاءِ ص ٢

عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ

[Machine] She returned to her residence and asked her what caused her to move before her waiting period ended? So, she sent a message to inform him that her aunt, Fatimah bint Qais, advised her that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave her permission to leave or move when Abu Amr ibn Hafs al-Makhzumi divorced her. So Marwan sent Qabisah bin Dhuwai'b to ask Fatimah bint Qais about that. She informed him that she was under the authority of Abu Amr ibn Hafs al-Makhzumi. She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered Ali to go to a part of Yemen, and his wife went with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent her a divorce certificate that would remain for her. He ordered Ayash bin Abi Rabiah and Harith bin Hisham to provide for her. They said by Allah, she has no provision unless she is pregnant. She sought his permission to move, and he gave her permission. She asked, "Where are you going, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "To the house of Ibn Umm Maktum," who was blind. She left her clothes with him, but he couldn't see her. She remained there until her waiting period ended, and the Prophet ﷺ married her to Usamah bin Zaid. Qabisah then returned to Marwan and informed him of this. Marwan said, "I have only heard this hadith from a woman, so we will follow the consensus that we find people upon." She said, "When I reached that point with you, it was between me and you what Allah said in his book, Allah says, 'Divorce them for their prescribed waiting period.' until his saying, 'You do not know, perhaps Allah will bring about, after that, a different matter.' And what is the different matter that comes after the third period?" She said, "It is only the re-evaluation of a woman by her husband." So how can you say that she has no provision if she is not pregnant? So, how can a woman be restricted without provision?  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩١حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ طَلَّقَ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ شَابٌّ فِي إِمَارَةِ مَرْوَانَ ابْنَةَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَأُمُّهَا بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ فَطَلَّقَهَا ألْبَتَّةَ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهَا خَالَتُهَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ فَأَمَرَتْهَا بِالِانْتِقَالِ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَسَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مَرْوَانُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا يَأْمُرُهَا

أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهَا وَسَأَلَهَا مَا حَمَلَهَا عَلَى الِانْتِقَالِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْقَضِي عِدَّتُهَا؟ فَأَرْسَلَتْ تُخْبِرُهُ أَنَّ خَالَتَهَا فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أَفْتَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَفْتَاهَا بِالْخُرُوجِ أَوِ الِانْتِقَالِ حِينَ طَلَّقَهَا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ فَأَرْسَلَ مَرْوَانُ قَبِيصَةَ بْنَ ذُؤَيْبٍ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ يَسْأَلُهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَبِي عَمْرِو بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَّرَ عَلِيًّا عَلَى بَعْضِ الْيَمَنِ فَخَرَجَ مَعَهُ زَوْجُهَا وَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا بِتَطْلِيقَةٍ بَقِيَتْ لَهَا وَأَمَرَ عَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ وَالْحَارِثَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ أَنْ يُنْفِقَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَا وَاللهِ مَا لَهَا نَفَقَةٌ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ حَامِلًا وَاسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ فِي الِانْتِقَالِ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ أَيْنَ انْتَقِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «عِنْدَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَكَانَ أَعْمَى تَضَعُ ثِيَابَهَا عِنْدَهُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُهَا فَلَمْ تَزَلْ هُنَاكَ حَتَّى مَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا فَأَنْكَحَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فَرَجَعَ قَبِيصَةُ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ فَنَأْخُذُ بِالْعِصْمَةِ الَّتِي وَجَدْنَا النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا قَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ حِينَ بَلَغَهَا ذَلِكَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ كِتَابُ اللهِ قَالَ اللهُ {فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {لَا تَدْرِي لَعَلَّ اللهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَمْرًا} قَالَتْ وَأَيُّ أَمْرٍ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ الثَّلَاثِ وإِنَّما هِيَ مُرَاجَعَةُ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ فَكَيْفَ تَقُولُونَ لَا نَفَقَةَ لَهَا إِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ حَامِلًا؟ فَكَيْفَ تُحْبَسُ امْرَأَةٌ بِغَيْرِ نَفَقَةٍ؟

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ commanded me to do so." Then she narrated her story and said, "And I dispute with you with the Book of Allah. Allah says in His book: 'When you divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed waiting period and keep count of the waiting period, and fear Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their husbands' houses, nor should they leave, unless they commit a clear immorality.' 'You do not know, perhaps Allah will bring about after that a matter.' And the confinement is not for the return. Then He said, 'So when they have reached their [term], either retain them in an acceptable manner or part with them in an acceptable manner.' And Allah did not mention confinement after the third [divorce] after the Prophet ﷺ commanded me with it." She said, "I returned to Marwan and informed him, and he said, 'The statement of a woman, the statement of a woman. Then he ordered the woman to be returned to her house until her waiting period was completed."  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩٣حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمُسْتَمْلِي ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَنَّ قَبِيصَةَ بْنَ ذُؤَيْبٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَةَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ وَكَانَتْ مَحْرَمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ خَالَتُهَا وكانت عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ فَطَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَبَعَثَتْ إِلَيْهَا خَالَتُهَا فَانْتَقَلَتْها إِلَى بَيْتِهَا وَمَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ قَبِيصَةُ بَعَثَنِي مَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ إِلَيْهَا فَسَأَلَهَا مَا حَمْلَهَا عَلَى أَنْ تُخْرِجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَيْتِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّتُهَا؟ فَقَالَتْ

«لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَنِي بِذَلِكَ» ثُمَّ قَصَّتْ حَدِيثَهَا فَقَالَتْ وَأَنَا أُخَاصِمُكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ يَقُولُ اللهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ {إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وأَحْصُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَاتَّقُوا اللهَ رَبُّكُمْ لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُبَيِّنَةٍ} {لَا تَدْرِي لَعَلَّ اللهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَمْرًا} وَلَمْ يَكُنِ الْحَبْسُ للرَّجْعَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ {فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ} الثَّالِثُ {فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ} وَاللهِ مَا ذَكَرَ اللهُ بَعْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ حَبْسًا بَعْدَمَا أَمَرَنِي بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «حَدِيثُ امْرَأَةٍ حَدِيثُ امْرَأَةٍ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِالْمَرْأَةِ فَرُدَّتْ إِلَى بَيْتِهَا حَتَّى انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا»  

أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ صُخَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ

[Machine] I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays, and her husband had divorced her three times. She said, "Satisfy me with three portions of barley and three portions of dates." She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to be with Ibn Umm Maktum, for he was blind and could not see me when I uncovered my face." He said, "So when you uncover yourself, do not let me precede you." So when I uncovered, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Have you recognized anyone?" I said, "Yes, Muawiya and Abu Jahl." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for Abu Jahl, he is harsh in his manners towards his wives, and as for Muawiya, he has no wealth. But marry Osama." So I said, "Osama lightly with the command of Osama." Then I said, "Listening and obeying Allah and His Messenger." So Allah honored me with the son of Zaid, and Allah honored me with the son of Zaid, and Allah benefited me with the son of Zaid.  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَارُودِيُّ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ الْجَهْمِ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَتْ مَتَّعَنِي بِثَلَاثَةِ آصُعٍ شَعِيرٍ وَثَلَاثَةِ آصُعٍ تَمْرٍ قَالَتْ وَأَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أَكُونَ عِنْدَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ مَكْفُوفُ الْبَصَرِ لَا يَرَانِي حِينَ اخْلَعُ خِمَارِي قَالَ «فَإِذَا حَلَلْتِ فَلَا تَسْبِقِينِي» فَلَمَّا حَلَلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَذَكَرَكِ أَحَدٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَأَبُو جَهْمٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَّا أَبُو جَهْمٍ فَشَدِيدُ الْخُلُقِ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ وَأَمَّا مُعَاوِيَةُ فَلَا مَالَ لَهُ وَلَكِنِ انْكِحِي أُسَامَةَ» فَقُلْتُ أُسَامَةُ تَهَاوُنًا بِأَمْرِ أُسَامَةَ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ سَمْعًا وَطَاعَةً لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَزَوَّجَنِي أُسَامَةَ «فَكَرَمَنِي اللهُ بِابْنِ زَيْدٍ وشَرَّفَنِي اللهُ بِابْنِ زَيْدٍ ونَفَعَنِي اللهُ بِابْنِ زَيْدٍ»  

عَبْدُ اللهِ الْبَهِيُّ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ

I was with al-Aswad b. Yazid sitting in the great mosque, and there was with us al-Sha'bi, and he narrated the narration of Fatima bint Qais (Allah be pleased with her) that Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not make any provision for lodging and maintenance allowance for her. Al-Aswad caught hold of some pebbles in his fist and he threw them towards him saying: Woe be to thee, you narrate like it, whereas Umar said: We cannot abandon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of our Apostle ﷺ for the words of a woman. We do not know whether she remembers that or she forgets. For her, there is a provision of lodging and maintenance allowance. Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, said:" Turn them not from their houses nor should they themselves go forth unless they commit an open indecency" (lxv. 1). (Using translation from Muslim 1480n)  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩٨حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ السِّرَاجُ ثنا حِبَّانُ بْنُ بُسْرٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً»  

ابْنُ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

[Machine] I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays and asked her about her divorce. She mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have no dwelling nor maintenance." She said, a caller for the congregational prayer announced and ascended the minbar, and said, "Tameem Al-Dari informed me," and he mentioned the hadith of Al-Jassasah in its entirety.  

الطبراني:٢١٤٤٨حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْخَلَّالُ التُّسْتَرِيُّ بِعَبَّادانَ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْجُنْدِيسابُورِيُّ ثنا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَطَّافٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَانِي عُمَرُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ وَأَبُو عَجْرَفَةَ وَحَاتِمٌ أَبُو عَمْرٍو التَّمَّارُ وَحَبِيبُ بْنُ جُرَيٍّ الْقَيْسِيُّ كُلُّهُمْ حَدَّثَنِي عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ طَلَاقِهَا فَذَكَرَتْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا سُكْنَى لَكِ وَلَا نَفَقَةً» قَالَتْ وَنَادَى مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَقَالَ «حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ» فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ الْجَسَّاسَةِ بِطُولِهِ  

فَاطِمَةُ الْخُزَاعِيَّةُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ visited a woman from the Ansar who was sick, and he said to her, "How are you feeling?" She said, "I am feeling fine except that I have a high fever." The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Be patient, for indeed, this fever removes the impurities of the son of Adam just as a blacksmith removes the impurities of iron."  

الطبراني:٢١٤٥٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ الْخُزَاعِيَّةُ قَالَتْ

عَادَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَهِيَ وَجِعَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا «كَيْفَ تَجِدِينَكِ؟» قَالَتْ بِخَيْرٍ إِلَّا أَنَّ أُمَّ مِلْدَمٍ قَدْ بَرِحَتْ بِي يَعْنِي الْحُمَّى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اصْبِرِي فَإِنَّهَا تُذْهِبُ خَبَثَ ابْنِ آدَمَ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ»

[Machine] He divorced her three times and went on some military expeditions. He ordered a representative to give her some financial support, so she set off to one of the Prophet's wives carrying the money. When she arrived, the Prophet ﷺ was with her. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is Fatimah bint Qays. So-and-so divorced her, and he sent her some financial support, but she returned it and claimed that he was delaying. The Prophet ﷺ said, "She is telling the truth." Then he said to her, "Go to Umm Maktoom and stay with her." Then he said, "No, Umm Maktoom is a woman who has many visitors. Rather, go to Abdullah ibn Umm Maktoom, for he is blind." So she went to him and stayed with him until her waiting period ended. Then Abu Jahm and Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan proposed to her. She came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking his advice regarding them. He said, "As for Abu Jahm, I fear for you from his roughness, so I strike his back with a stick. As for Muawiyah, he is a noble man." After that, Usamah ibn Zaid married her.  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩٤حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أُخْتَ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَتْ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا وَخَرَجَ إِلَى بَعْضِ الْمَغَازِي وَأَمَرَ وَكِيلًا لَهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَهَا بَعْضَ النَّفَقَةِ فَاسْتَقَلَّتْهَا فَانْطَلَقَتْ إِلَى إِحْدَى نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهِيَ عِنْدَهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذِهِ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ طَلَّقَهَا فُلَانٌ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا بِبَعْضِ النَّفَقَةِ فَرَدَّتْهَا وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ شَيْءٌ تَطَوَّلَ بِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «صَدَقَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهَا «انْتَقِلِي إِلَى أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَاعْتَدِّي عِنْدَهَا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «لَا إِنَّ أُمَّ مَكْتُومٍ امْرَأَةً يَكْثُرُ عُوَّادُهَا وَلَكِنِ انْتَقِلِي إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ أَعْمَى» فَانْتَقَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَاعْتَدَّتْ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا ثُمَّ خَطَبَهَا أَبُو جَهْمٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَجَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَسْتَأْمِرُهُ فِيهِمَا فَقَالَ «أَمَّا أَبُو جَهْمٍ فَأَخَافُ عَلَيْكِ فَسْقَشَتَهُ لِلْعَصَا وَأَمَّا مُعَاوِيَةُ فَرَجُلٌ أَخْلَقُ مِنَ الْمَالِ» فَتَزَوَّجَتْ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ

[Machine] My husband, Abu Hafs ibn al-Mughirah, divorced me three times through the intermediary of Ayyash ibn Abi Rabia. He also sent me five bushels of barley and five bushels of dates. I said, "But I have no means of sustenance except this." So I gathered my clothes and went to the Prophet ﷺ. He asked, "How many times did he divorce you?" I replied, "Three times." He said, "Verily, he spoke the truth. There is no sustenance for you, but go and live in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum and he will provide for you."  

الطبراني:٢١٣٩٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ وَيُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ قَالَ جِئْتُ أَنَا وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ أُخْتِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَتْ بِنْتَ أَخِيهَا ظُهْرًا فَقُلْتُ مَا حَمَلَكِ عَلَى هَذَا؟ قَالَتْ

كَانَ زَوْجِي أَبُو حَفْصِ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ مَعَ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ بِطَلَاقِي ثَلَاثًا وَبَعَثَ إِلَيَّ بِخَمْسَةِ أُصْعٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ وَخَمْسَةِ أُصْعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقُلْتُ وَمَا لِي نَفَقَةٌ إِلَّا هَذَا؟ فَجَمَعْتُ عَلِيَّ ثِيَابِي فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كَمْ طَلَّقَكِ؟» قُلْتُ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ «فَإِنَّهُ صَدَقَ لَا نَفَقَةَ لَكِ وَاعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ تَضَعِي عَنْكِ ثِيَابَكِ»

[Machine] Amir Al-Sha'bi narrated to me that Fatimah bint Qais, who was in the company of Abu Hafs bin Amr or Amr bin Hafs, came to the Prophet ﷺ asking about financial support and accommodation. He said to her, "Listen, O daughter of Qais," and pointed his hand, extending it towards part of his face as if he wanted to hide something from her, and it seemed like he was saying, "Be silent. Financial support is only the responsibility of a woman's husband, unless she has no means of recourse, then there is no financial support or accommodation for her. Go to Fulanah (a woman's name) or he said, Umm Shareek, and seek assistance from her." Then he said, "That is not a place where men gather or hold conversations, so seek assistance in the house of Ibn Um Maktum."

عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَبِي حَفْصِ بْنِ عَمْرِو أَوْ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَفْصٍ فَجَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي النَّفَقَةِ وَالسُّكْنَى فَقَالَ لَهَا «اسْمَعِي يَا ابْنَةَ قَيْسٍ» وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَمَدَّهَا عَلَى بَعْضِ وَجْهِهِ كَأَنَّهُ يَسْتَتِرُ مِنْهَا وَكَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ اسْكُتِي إِنَّمَا النَّفَقَةُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ عَلَى زَوْجِهَا مَا كَانَتْ عَلَيْهَا رَجْعَةٌ فَلَا نَفَقَةَ لَهَا وَلَا سُكْنَى ائْتِ فُلَانَةَ أَوْ قَالَ أُمَّ شَرِيكٍ فَاعْتَدِّي عِنْدَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ يُجْتَمَعُ إِلَيْهَا أَوْ قَالَ يُتَحَدَّثُ عِنْدَهَا اعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

[Machine] The people of the city disagreed with us about living in the separate house and providing for it, so they said to me: "Between us and you there is the matter of Fatimah bint Qays, so I went to her and entered upon her, so I asked her and she said: My husband divorced me. So her brother said to me: You have no right to live in or be provided for. So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "O daughter of Qays, the right of living in and being provided for only exists if your husband takes you back."

خَالَفَنَا أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ فِي سُكْنَى الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ونَفَقَتِها فَقَالُوا لِي بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ حَدِيثُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَأَتَيْتُهَا فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهَا فَسَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي فَقَالَ لِي أَخُوهُ إِنَّهُ لَا سُكْنَى لَكِ وَلَا نَفَقَةَ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا ابْنَةَ قَيْسٍ إِنَّمَا يَكُونُ السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةُ مَا كَانَ لِزَوْجِكِ عَلَيْكِ رَجْعَةٌ»

[Machine] She asked the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My husband divorced me and did not provide for me with financial support or housing." The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Indeed, your husband does not have to take you back; rather, housing and financial support are the obligations of the husband to the wife who he takes back."

[Machine] I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays in Medina and asked her about the decree of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She said, "My husband divorced me in the state of menstruation, so I disputed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding residence and maintenance. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not assign me a residence or maintenance, but instead instructed me to prepare in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ «طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ألْبَتَّةَ فَخَاصَمْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْنَاهَا عَنِ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ثَلَاثًا أَيْنَ تَعْتَدُّ؟ فَقَالَتْ «أَذِنَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ طَلَّقَنِي بِعْلِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي أَهْلِي»

«طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ثَلَاثًا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً»

[Machine] He divorced me three times while he was on his way to Yemen, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ approved of it. So I sent to the family of my husband to ask them for my maintenance, but they wanted to evict me from my house. So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "Go to the son of Umm Maktoom."

[Machine] I met Fatimah bint Qays in al-Harra, so I asked her how she was doing. She replied, "My husband divorced me, Abu 'Amr, before he left for Yemen, and he appointed 'Ayash ibn Abi Rabi'ah to provide for me. I brought the matter to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, 'You are not entitled to any financial support or housing from them.'"

لَقِيتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ بِالْحَرَّةِ فَسَأَلْتُهَا كَيْفَ كَانَ أَمْرُهَا؟ فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي أَبُو عَمْرٍو قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ وَوَكَّلَ عَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ وَأَعْطَانِي نَفَقَةً فَرَافَعْتُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «لَا نَفَقَةَ لَكِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا سُكْنَى»

[Machine] I heard Al-Sha'bi saying that Fatima bint Qais told me that she came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my husband has divorced me three times, and I wanted to have the right to live in his house and receive financial support." He replied, "Divorce once or twice, you inherit from him and he inherits from you. But divorce three times, you do not inherit from him, and he does not inherit from you. You have no right to live in his house, and he has no obligation to provide for you. Go and stay with Ibn Umm Maktum."

سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ أَنَّهَا أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ثَلَاثًا فَأَرَدْتُ السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةَ فَقَالَ «تَطْلِيقَةٌ تَطْلِيقَتَانِ تَرِثِينَهُ وَيَرِثُكِ ثَلَاثًا لَا تَرِثِينَهُ وَلَا يَرِثُكِ وَلَا سُكْنَى لَكِ وَلَا نَفَقَةَ انْزِلِي عِنْدَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[Machine] "I was with a man from the tribe of Makhzum who divorced me three times. He said, 'You have no provision with me.' So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my husband divorced me and I asked him for provision, but he said, "You have no residence or provision with me." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have a residence and provision." So he sent for him and he said, 'Indeed, I divorced her three times.' He said, 'Then prepare yourself to reside in the house of Um Sharik.' Then he said, 'Um Sharik is an old woman, but prepare yourself to reside in the house of the son of Um Maktoom, for he is a blind man.'"

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ فَطَلَّقَنِي ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ لَيْسَ لَكِ عِنْدِي نَفَقَةٌ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ زَوْجِي طَلَّقَنِي فَطَلَبْتُ مِنْهُ النَّفَقَةَ فَقَالَ لَا سُكْنَى لَكِ عِنْدِي وَلَا نَفَقَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَكِ السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةُ» فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُهَا ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ «إِذًا اعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ شَرِيكٍ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «أُمُّ شَرِيكٍ امْرَأَةٌ مَغْشِيَّةٌ وَلَكِنِ اعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَإِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ مَكْفُوفٌ»

[Machine] "My husband divorced me three times during the era of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and then I went to the Prophet ﷺ to ask him about accommodation and financial support. However, he did not allocate any accommodation or financial support for me."

«طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ثَلَاثًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةَ»

[Machine] Abu Amr ibn Hafs sent a message to me while he was leaving with an army to Yemen at the time of my divorce. I asked his guardians about financial support and living arrangements, and they said he did not send us anything in that regard nor did he give us any instructions. So, I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Amr ibn Hafs sent me a divorce message, and I asked for financial support and living arrangements." His guardians said he did not send anything to us in that regard. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Financial support and living arrangements are only for the woman if her husband has the right of taking her back. If she is not permissible for him until she marries someone else, then there is no financial support or living arrangement for her."

إِنَّ أَبَا عَمْرِو بْنِ حَفْصٍ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ وَهُوَ مُنْطَلِقٌ فِي جَيْشٍ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ بِطَلَاقِي فَسَأَلْتُ أَوْلِياءَهُ النَّفَقَةَ عَلِيَّ وَالسُّكْنَى فَقَالُوا مَا أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْنَا فِي ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ وَلَا أَوْصَانَا بِهِ فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبَا عَمْرِو بْنِ حَفْصٍ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ بِطَلَاقِي فَطَلَبْتُ السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُ لَمْ يُرْسِلْ إِلَيْنَا فِي ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا كَانَ لِزَوْجِهَا عَلَيْهَا رَجْعَةٌ فَإِذَا كَانَتْ لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ حَتَّى تَنْكِحَ زَوْجًا غَيْرَهُ فَلَا نَفَقَةَ لَهَا وَلَا سُكْنَى»

[Machine] I married Hafsah bint al-Mughirah while she was one of the best amongst the youth of the Quraysh. When I was delayed by the proposal of Abdur-Rahman bin Awf with a group of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , the Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to me for his freed slave Usamah bin Zaid. I had been informed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever loves me, should love Usamah." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke to me, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have no choice in this matter, so marry me to whomever you please." He said, "Go to Umm Sharik and Umm Sharik is a woman who possesses a great amount of wealth and contributes generously in the cause of Allah. Guests often frequent her house." I said, "That is what I will do." He said, "No, don't do that, for Umm Sharik is a woman who has frequent guests. And I dislike that your veil should be removed, or that your garment should be rent, and the people should see you in a way that you do not like. However, you may go to your cousin Abdillah bin Amr bin Umm Maktum." He belonged to the people of Bani Fihr, one of the sub-tribes of Quraysh, who were allies to each other before Islam, and he belonged to the family of Khadijah bint Khuwailid, the mother of the believers. So, I went to him.  

الطبراني:٢١٤١٥حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي الْحَجَّاجِ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ الْمُعَلِّمُ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ الشَّعْبِيُّ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ حَدَّثَتْهُ قَالَتْ

نَكَحْتُ حَفْصَ بْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَهُوَ مِنْ خِيَارِ شَبَابِ قُرَيْشٍ فَلَمَّا تَأَيَّمْتُ خَطَبَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَخَطَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى مَوْلَاهُ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَكُنْتُ قَدْ حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحَبَّنِي فَلْيُحِبَّ أُسَامَةَ» فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ أَمْرِي بِيَدِكَ فَأَنْكِحْنِي مَنْ شِئْتَ فَقَالَ «انْتَقِلِي إِلَى أُمِّ شَرِيكٍ وَأُمُّ شَرِيكٍ امْرَأَةٌ غَنِيَّةٌ عَظِيمَةُ النَّفَقَةِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ يَنْزِلُ عَلَيْهَا الضِّيفَانُ» فَقُلْتُ سَأَفْعَلُ قَالَ «لَا تَفْعَلِي فَإِنَّ أُمَّ شَرِيكٍ امْرَأَةً كَثِيرَةً الضِّيفَانِ وَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَسْقُطَ عَنْكِ خِمَارُكِ أَوْ يَنْكَشِفَ الثَّوْبُ عَنْ سَاقَيْكِ فَيَرَى الْقَوْمُ مِنْكِ بَعْضَ مَا تَكْرَهِينَ وَلَكِنِ انْتَقِلِي إِلَى ابْنِ عَمِّكِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فِهْرٍ فِهْرِ قُرَيْشٍ وَهُوَ مِنَ الْبَطْنِ الَّذِي هِيَ مِنْهُ فَانْتَقَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ

[Machine] I asked Fatimah bint Qays how she was doing. She said, "My husband divorced me three times. So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'My relatives have claimed that I have no shelter or expenditure.' He said, 'Go and prepare yourself in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.' He was blind." She said, "Abu Al-Jahm ibn Hudhayfah proposed to me, and after him Muawiyah proposed to me after the 'iddah had expired. So I consulted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, 'As for Abu Jahm, he is harsh to women, and as for Muawiyah, he is poor and has nothing. But where are you in regards to Usamah?' I said, 'Should I marry Usamah?' He said, 'Yes, marry Usamah.'"  

الطبراني:٢١٤١٦حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْخَطَّابِيُّ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ كَيْفَ كَانَ أَمْرُهَا؟ قَالَتْ طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ثَلَاثًا جَمِيعًا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ زَعَمَ أَحْمَائِي أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً قَالَ «صَدَقُوا اذْهَبِي فَاعْتَدِّي فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَكَانَ أَعْمَى قَالَتْ فَخَطَبَهَا أَبُو الْجَهْمِ بْنُ حُذَيْفَةَ وَمِنْ بَعْدِهِ مُعَاوِيَةُ بَعْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الْعِدَّةِ فَاسْتَشَارَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَمَا أَبُو جَهْمٍ فَضَرُوبٌ لِلنِّسَاءِ وَأَمَّا مُعَاوِيَةُ فَمُمَلَّقٌ يَعْنِي مُفْلِسَ لَا يَمْلِكُ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنْ أَيْنَ أَنْتِ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ؟» قُلْتُ أَنْكِحُ أُسَامَةَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمِ انْكِحِي أُسَامَةَ»

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Al Sha’bi through a different chain of narrators. This version has “The husband of Fathima daughter of Qais pronounced her triple divorce. The Prophet ﷺ did not allow her to have maintenance and dwelling.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2288)

«أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً»

[Machine] "Her husband divorced her three times and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not assign her a dwelling or provide for her." He said, "Her husband is Abu Hafs ibn 'Amr ibn al-Mughirah."  

الطبراني:٢١٤١٨حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ حَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ

«أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَكَنًا وَلَا نَفَقَةً» قَالَ وَزَوْجُهَا أَبُو حَفْصِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ

طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً»

طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ثَلَاثًا فَأَرَدْتُ النَّفَقَةَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «انْتَقِلِي إِلَى بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ ابْنِ عَمِّكِ فَاعْتَدِّي عِنْدَهُ»

[Machine] "That her husband divorced her, so she went to the Prophet ﷺ and he commanded her to observe her 'iddah (waiting period) in the house of her son from Umm Maktoom."  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَزَّانُ ثنا غَسَّانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْحَبَطِيُّ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

«أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»

[Machine] I went with a man until we entered upon Fatimah bint Qays, the sister of Dihyah bin Qays. We said, "O Fatimah, tell us a narration that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." She said, "Yes." So she gave us dates and water to drink. She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day and sat on the pulpit. The people surrounded him and took refuge with him. He said, 'O people, I have been made to sit here due to a piece of news.' She said, 'And it was not on the hour that he used to sit in. Tameem Ad-Dari entered upon me today during the migration or around Dhuhr time. He informed me that his cousins were thrown into a ship in the sea on an island that they do not know. So they went into it, walking, and they came across something that they did not recognize if it was a man or a woman, from what it was clothed with hair. So they said, 'Who are you?' It said, 'I am the Jassasah!' They said, 'Inform us.' It said, 'I do not inform you, nor do I ask you anything. But if you want the news, go to this monastery,' pointing to a monastery on the island, not far away. So we went on walking until we entered it and found a man who was bound with iron, large and heavy. His back was leaning against the side of a mountain. He said, 'Who are you?' We said, 'People from the Arabs.' He said, 'What did the unlettered Prophet ﷺ do?' We said, 'He has left.' He said, 'What did the date-palms of Bani Uman and Baysan do?' We said, 'They bear fruits and produce.' He said, 'What did the spring of Zughar do?' We said, 'It remains the same.' He said, 'What did the lake of Tabariyyah do?' We said, 'It is full.' He struck his hand upon his thigh and said, 'I have lost everything of the land except Makkah and Madinah.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Madinah will be shaken one, twice. No dajjal shall enter it. There is no spot in it that is not guarded by angels, except that they shall stand upon a rock, raising the sword.' And he pointed with his hand, 'And from the direction of Yemen is what?' We said, 'Whatever Allah wills.' Then he said, while pointing with his hand, 'And his shirt is close to thirty times the size from the direction of Iraq and it is not less than thirty times.'  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢٢حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا عَامِرٌ الشَّعْبِيُّ قَالَ

انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ أُخْتِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ فَقُلْنَا يَا فَاطِمَةُ حَدِّثِينَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتِيهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَطْعَمَتْنَا رُطَبًا وَسَقَتْنَا شَرَابًا وَقَالَتْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَجَلَسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَعَاذَ النَّاسُ بِهِ ولاذُوا بِهِ فَقَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَجْلَسَنِي خَبَرٌ» قَالَتْ وَفِي غَيْرِ السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي كَانَ يَجْلِسُ فِيهَا أَنَّ تَمِيمَ الدَّارِ دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ الْيَوْمَ فِي الْهَاجِرَةِ أَوْ فِي الظَّهِيرَةِ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ بَنِي عَمٍّ لَهُ أَلْقَتْهُمُ سَفِينَةٌ لَهُمْ فِي الْبَحْرِ عَلَى جَزِيرَةٍ وَلَا يَعْرِفُونَهَا فَخَرَجُوا فِيهَا يَمْشُونَ فَلَقُوا شَيْئًا لَا يَدْرُونَ رَجُلًا هُوَ أَوِ امْرَأَةً مِمَّا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالُوا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا أَخْبِرِينَا قَالَتْ لَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ وَلَا أَسْتَخْبِرُكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُرِيدُونَ الْخَبَرَ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الدَّيْرِ وَأَشَارَتْ إِلَى دِيرٍ فِي الْجَزِيرَةِ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ فَانْطَلَقْنَا نَمْشِي حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُوثَقٌ بِحَدِيدٍ كَبِيرٍ ثَقِيلٍ وَإِذَا هُوَ مُسْتَنِدٌ ظَهْرُهُ إِلَى سَفْحِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قُلْنَا أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ ﷺ الَّذِي يُنْتَظَرُ؟ قُلْنَا قَدْ خَرَجَ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلٌ بَيْنَ عُمَانَ وَبَيْسَانَ؟ قُلْنَا كَهَيْأَتِهِ يُطْعِمُ وَيُثْمِرُ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قُلْنَا كَمَا هِيَ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قُلْنَا مَلْأَى فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ بَطْنَ قَدَمِهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي لَوْ قَدْ خَرَجْتُ مِنْ مَجْلِسِي هَذَا لَمْ أَدَعْ فِي الْأَرْضِ بُقْعَةً إِلَّا وَطَئْتُهَا إِلَّا مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ قَالَ ثُمَّ زَفَرَ فَسَارَ فِي الْجَبَلِ ثُمَّ وَقَعَ ثُمَّ سَارَ أُخْرَى أَبْعَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ وَقَعَ ثُمَّ سَارَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَذَهَبَ فِي الْجَبَلِ ثُمَّ وَقَعَ قَالَ قُلْنَا مَا لَهُ لَا بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيهِ وَكَأَنَّهُ سَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «طَيْبَةُ مَرَّتَيْنِ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا الدَّجَّالُ لَيْسَ مِنْهَا نَقْبٌ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ شَاهِرُ السَّيْفِ وَمِنْ نَحْوِ الْيَمَنِ مَا هُوَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ بِيَدِهِ «وَكُمُّ قَمِيصِهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثِينَ مَرَّةٍ مِنْ نَحْوِ الْعِرَاقِ وَمَا هُوَ قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثِينَ مَرَّةٍ»

[Machine] I heard the Caller of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ calling for the congregational prayer, so I went out with a group of Ansari women until we reached the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Dhuhr prayer with us, then he ascended the pulpit and faced us with a smiling face. Then he said, "I swear by Allah, I did not gather you out of desire or fear, but for a matter that Tamim ad-Dari narrated to me. He came to me and embraced Islam and pledged allegiance, and he informed me that he rode with thirty men from Lakhm and Juzam, who were two tribes from the Arabians of Yemen. They embarked upon the sea and it tossed them about for a month, then it cast them near the sunset, close to an island from the islands of the sea. We saw it as the beginning of Ahlab (people of destruction) and its front is not distinguishable from its back. We said, 'What are you, O creature?' So Allah allowed it to speak and it spoke to us with a harsh, distasteful tongue, saying, 'I am the "Jassasah." We said, 'And what is the "Jassasah"?' It said, 'You will soon find out about me. Go to this monastery in the furthest part of the island, for there is a man who is eagerly awaiting your arrival and has been informing the people about you.' So we went to the monastery and found the greatest man we had ever seen, with his hands tied to his neck and his legs tied up with iron chains fastened to his ankles. We said to him, 'What are you, O man?' He replied, 'You will soon find out about me. Tell me about yourselves. How has the Arab been?' So we told him everything we had experienced. He said, 'Tell me about the spring of Tabariyah. Has it dried up?' We said, 'No.' He asked, 'Has anything strange happened there?' We said, 'No.' He said, 'Tell me about the spring of Zughar. Has it dried up?' We said, 'No.' He asked, 'Has anything strange happened there?' We said, 'No.' He said, 'Tell me about the palm trees of Bayzaan. Are they bearing fruits?' We said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Have anything strange happened to them?' We said, 'No.' He said, 'Tell me about the unlettered Prophet. What has he done?' We said, 'He has come out and fought against those who opposed him, and those who believed in him have supported him.' He asked, 'Has he still appeared among the Arabs?' We said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'What have the Arabs done to him?' So we told him everything. He said, 'If that is the case, then he will certainly appear in the Haram.' And he repeated this thrice. Then he said, 'But I am going to tell you about his dwelling in the sacred land. There is no city on Earth which is not afraid of him facing it, except for Makkah and Madinah. Whenever he intends to enter either of them, an angel with drawn sword in hand prevents him.' Abu Al-Ash'hab said, 'Amir (Jabir) said, 'Fatimah bint Qays narrated, 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands until we saw the whiteness of his armpits, and he said, 'Shall I not tell you about this city?'" And he mentioned it three times. Then he said, 'Shall I not tell you about this sea?'  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا سَيْفُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ الْإِسْوَارِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ

سَمِعْتُ مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُنَادِي الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةٌ فَخَرَجْتُ فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ ثُمَّ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا بِوَجْهِهِ ضَاحِكًا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي وَاللهِ مَا جَمَعْتُكُمْ لِرَغْبَةٍ وَلَا لِرَهْبَةٍ إِلَّا لِحَدِيثٍ حَدَّثَنِي بِهِ تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ أَتَانِي فَأَسْلَمَ وَبَايَعَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ فِي ثَلَاثِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ لَخْمٍ وَجُذَامٍ وَهُمَا حَيَّانِ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ فَصادَفُوا الْبَحْرَ حِينَ اغْتَلَمَ فَلَعِبَ بِهِمُ الْمَوْجُ شَهْرًا ثُمَّ قَذَفَهُمْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَإِذَا نَحْنُ بِدايَةُ أَهْلَبٍ لَا يُعْرَفُ قُبُلُهَا مِنْ دُبُرِهَا قُلْنَا مَا أَنْتِ أَيُّهَا الدَّابَّةُ؟ فَأَذِنَ اللهُ فَكَلَّمَتْنا بِلِسَانٍ ذَلْقٍ طَلْقٍ فَقَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قُلْنَا وَمَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ؟ قَالَتْ إِلَيْكُمْ عَنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ بِذَاكَ الدَّيْرِ فِي أَقْصَى الْجَزِيرَةِ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ رَجُلًا هُوَ إِلَى خَبَرِكُمْ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْنَا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا نَحْنُ بِرَجُلٍ أَعْظَمَ رَجُلٍ رَأَيْتُهُ قَطُّ وَأَحْسَنَهُ جِسْمًا فَإِذَا هُوَ مَمْسُوحُ الْعَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى كَأَنَّ عَيْنَهُ نُخَامَةٌ فِي جِدَارٍ مُجَصَّصٍ وَإِذْ يَدَاهُ مَغْلُولَتانِ إِلَى عُنُقَهِ وَإِذْ رِجْلَاهُ مَشْدُودَتانِ بِالْكُبُولِ مِنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ إِلَى قَدَمَيْهِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ مَا أَنْتَ أَيُّهَا الرَّجُلُ؟ فَقَالَ أَمَّا خَبَرِي فَقَدْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنْ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ خَبَرِكُمْ مَا أَوْقَعَكُمْ هَذِهِ الْجَزِيرَةَ؟ وَهَذِهِ الْجَزِيرَةُ لَمْ يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا آدَمِيٌّ مُذْ خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ فَقَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ بُحَيْرَةِ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ مَا فَعَلَتْ؟ قُلْنَا عَنْ أَيِّ أَمْرِهَا تَسْأَلُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ نَضَبَ مَاؤُهَا؟ وَهَلْ بَدَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعَجَائِبِ؟ قُلْنَا لَا قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ عَيْنِ زُغَرٍ مَا فَعَلَتْ؟ قُلْنَا عَنْ أَيِّ أَمْرِهَا تَسْأَلُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ يَحْتَرِثُ عَلَيْهَا أَهْلُهَا؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَغُورُ عَنْهَا مَاؤُهَا ثُمَّ سَكَتَ مَلِيًّا فَقَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ نَخِيلِ بَيْسَانَ مَا فَعَلَ؟ قُلْنَا لَهُ عَنْ أَيِّ أَمْرِهَا تَسْأَلُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ يُثْمِرُ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا أَنَّهُ لَا يُثْمِرُ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ مَلِيًّا فَقَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ مَا فَعَلَ؟ قُلْنَا عَنْ أَيِّ أَمْرِهِ تَسْأَلُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ ظَهَرَ بَعْدُ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا صَنَعَتْ مَعَهُ الْعَرَبُ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَاتَلَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ فَقُلْنَا أَخْبِرْنَا خَبَرَكَ أَيُّهَا الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ أَمَا تَعْرِفُونَنِي؟ قُلْنَا لَوْ عَرَفْنَاكَ مَا سَأَلْنَاكَ قَالَ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لِي فِي الْخُرُوجِ فَإِذَا خَرَجْتُ وَطْأَةُ جَزَائِرَ الْعَرَبِ كُلَّهَا غَيْرَ مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ كُلَّمَا أَرَدْتُهُما اسْتَقْبَلَنِي مَلَكٌ بِيَدِهِ السَّيْفُ مُصْلِتًا فَرَدَّنِي عَنْهُمَا قَالَ أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ قَالَ عَامِرٌ قَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَافِعًا يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ أَنَّ هَذِهِ طَيْبَةَ» ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ أَنَّهُ فِي بَحْرِ الشَّامِ» ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ اسْتَراحَ ثُمَّ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ بَلْ هُوَ فِي بَحْرِ الْعِرَاقِ إِنْ يَخْرُجُ حِينَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَلْدَةٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا أَصْبَهَانُ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ قُرَاهَا يُقَالُ لَهَا رِسْتَقَابَادُ وَيَخْرُجُ مَنْ يَخْرُجُ عَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهِ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا عَلَيْهِمُ السِّيجَانُ مَعَهُ نَهْرَانِ نَهَرٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَنَهَرٌ مِنْ نَارٍ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ادْخُلِ الْمَاءَ فَلَا يَدْخُلُهُ فَإِنَّهُ نَارٌ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ ادْخُلِ النَّارَ فَلْيَدْخُلُهَا فَإِنَّهُ مَاءٌ

I was in the back row of the women, behind the men. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he sat on the pulpit and started laughing. He said, 'Let every person perform their prayer.' Then he said, 'Do you know why I gathered you all?' They said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'By Allah, I did not gather you out of desire or fear, but I gathered you because of Tameem ad-Dari. He was a Christian man who came and pledged allegiance and embraced Islam. And he informed me about something that I had been informing you about regarding the Dajjal (Antich  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢٤حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي الْحَجَّاجِ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ الْمُعَلِّمُ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ شَرَاحِيلَ الشَّعْبِيُّ شِعْبُ هَمْدَانَ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أُخْتَ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الْأُوَلِ قَالَ

حَدِّثِينِي حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتِيهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُسْنِدِيهِ إِلَى أَحَدٍ غَيْرِكِ قَالَتْ لَئِنْ شِئْتَ لَأَفْعَلَنَّ قَالَ لَهَا أَجَلْ حَدِّثِينِي قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ نِدَاءَ مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُنَادِي الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكُنْتُ فِي صَفِّ النِّسَاءِ الَّذِي يَلِي ظُهُورَ الْقَوْمِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاتَهُ جَلَسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقَالَ «لِيَلْزَمَ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مُصَلَّاهُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ لِمَ جَمَعْتُكُمْ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ إِنِّي وَاللهِ مَا جَمَعْتُكُمْ لِرَغْبَةٍ وَلَا لِرَهْبَةٍ وَلَكِنْ جَمَعْتُكُمْ لِأَنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ كَانَ رَجُلًا نَصْرَانِيًّا فَجَاءَ فَبَايَعَ وَأَسْلَمَ وَحَدَّثَنِي حَدِيثًا وَافَقَ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْ مَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ بَحْرِيَّةٍ مَعَ ثَلَاثِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ لَخْمٍ وَجُذَامٍ فَلَعِبَ بِهِمُ الْمَوْجُ شَهْرًا فِي الْبَحْرِ ثُمَّ ارْفَضُّوا إِلَى الْجَزِيرَةِ فِي الْبَحْرِ حَيْثُ مَغْرِبَ الشَّمْسِ فَجَلَسُوا فِي قَارِبِ السَّفِينَةِ فَدَخَلُوا الْجَزِيرَةَ فَلَقِيَتْهُمْ دَابَّةٌ أَهْلَبُ كَثِيرَةُ الشَّعْرِ لَا يَدْرُونَ مَا قُبُلُهُ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالُوا وَيْلَكَ مَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا وَمَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ؟ قَالَتْ أَيُّهَا الْقَوْمُ انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ فِي الدَّيْرِ فَإِنَّهُ إِلَى خَبَرِكُمْ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا سَمَّتْ لَنَا رَجُلًا فَرِقْنَا مِنْهَا أَنْ تَكُونَ شَيْطَانَةً فَانْطَلَقْنَا سِرَاعًا حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا فِيهِ أَعْظَمُ إِنْسَانٍ رَأَيْنَاهُ قَطُّ خَلْقًا وأَشَدُّهُ وَثَاقًا مَجْمُوعَةٌ يَدَاهُ إِلَى عُنُقِهِ مَا بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ بِالْحَدِيدِ قُلْنَا وَيْلَكَ مَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ قَدْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَى خَبَرِي فَأَخْبِرُونِي مَا أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ رَكِبْنَا فِي سَفِينَةٍ بَحْرِيَّةٍ فَصَادَفْنَا الْبَحْرَ حِينَ اغْتَلَمَ فَلَعِبَ بِنَا الْمَوْجُ شَهْرًا ثُمَّ أَلْقَتْنا إِلَى جَزِيرَتِكَ هَذِهِ فَجَلَسْنَا فِي قَارِبِها فَدَخَلْنَا الْجَزِيرَةَ فَلَقِينَا دَابَّةً أَهْلَبَ كَثِيرَةَ الشَّعْرِ لَا نَدْرِي قُبُلَهُ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الشَّعْرِ فَقُلْنَا وَيْلَكِ مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قُلْنَا وَمَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ؟ قَالَتْ اعْمَدُوا إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ فَإِنَّهُ إِلَى خَبَرِكُمْ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ فَأَقْبَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ سِرَاعًا فَفَزِعْنَا مِنْهَا وَمَا أَمِنَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ شَيْطَانَةً فَقَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ نَخْلِ بَيْسَانَ؟ قُلْنَا عَنْ أَيِّ شَأْنِهَا تَسْتَخْبِرُ؟ قَالَ أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَنْ نَخْلِهَا هَلْ يُثْمِرُ؟ قُلْنَا لَهُ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا أَنَّهَا يُوشِكُ أَنْ لَا تُثْمِرَ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ بُحَيْرَةِ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قُلْنَا عَنْ أَيِّ شَأْنِهَا تَسْتَخْبِرُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ فِيهَا مَاءٌ؟ قُلْنَا هِيَ كَثِيرَةُ الْمَاءِ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ عَيْنِ زُغَرٍ قَالُوا عَنْ أَيِّ شَأْنِهَا تَسْتَخْبِرُ؟ قَالَ هَلْ فِي الْعَيْنِ مَاءٌ وَهَلْ يَزْرَعُ أَهْلُهَا بِمَاءِ الْعَيْنِ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ وَهِيَ كَثِيرَةُ الْمَاءِ وَأَهْلُهَا يَزْرَعُونَ بِمَائِهَا قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ مَا فَعَلَ؟ قَالُوا خَرَجَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ وَنَزَلَ يَثْرِبَ قَالَ أَفَقَاتَلَهُ الْعَرَبُ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ بِهِمْ؟ فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَنَّهُ ظَهْرَ عَلَى مَنْ يَلِيهِ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ فَأَطَاعُوهُ قَالَ لَهُمْ لَقَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ؟ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَصْنَعُوهُ أَنْ يُطِيعُوهُ إِنِّي مُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنِّي إِنِّي أَنَا الْمَسِيحُ وَأَنَّهُ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لِي فِي الْخُرُوجِ فَأَخْرُجُ فَأَسِيرُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَلَا أَدَعُ قَرْيَةً إِلَّا هَبَطْتُهَا فِي أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً غَيْرَ مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ وَهُمَا مُحَرَّمَتَانِ عَلِيَّ كُلَّمَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ وَاحِدَةً مِنْهُمَا اسْتَقْبَلَنِي مَلَكٌ بِيَدِهِ السَّيْفُ صَلْتًا يَصُدُّنِي عَنْهَا وَإِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ نَقْبٍ مِنْهَا مَلَائِكَةً يَحْرُسُونَهَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَضَرَبَ بِمِخْصَرَتِهِ الْمِنْبَرَ «هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ أَلَا هَلْ كُنْتُ حَدَّثْتُكُمْ ذَلِكَ؟» فَقَالَ النَّاسُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَإِنَّمَا أَعْجَبَنِي حَدِيثُ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيُّ لِأَنَّهُ وَافَقَ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْهُ وَعَنِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَكَّةَ أَلَا أَنَّهُ فِي بَحْرِ الشَّامِ أَوْ بَحْرِ الْيَمَنِ لَا بَلْ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ مَا هُوَ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ مَا هُوَ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ مَا هُوَ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ» وأَوْمَا بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ قَالَتْ حَفِظْتُ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a congregational prayer at a time when he had never done so before. People went to the mosque and the Prophet ﷺ came and ascended the pulpit. Then he said, "I warn you against the Dajjal (Antichrist) three times. He was not mentioned before, but he will soon appear among you, O nation. Tamim Ad-Dari informed me that he embarked on a sea voyage with a group of people, including Lakhm and Judham. Strong winds blew them to an island from the islands of the Sham (Greater Syria). They landed on its coast, where they found a chained woman. They asked her, 'Who are you?' She said, 'I am the Jassasah.' They asked her, 'What is the Jassasah?' She said, 'Inform me about yourselves first.' She said, 'What brought you here?' They said, 'We are Arabs, sailing on this sea, and then the wind blew us to your island. Who are you?' She said, 'I do not want to inform you.' They said, 'Inform us.' She said, 'Do you have a prophet amongst you?' They said, 'Yes.' She said, 'What has been done by the people?' They said, 'Some followed him and some abandoned him.' She said, 'I ask you whether people follow him when he enforces his commands.' They said, 'Yes.' She said, 'I believe that he is the Prophet who will come; he is the one whose description matches the person I met. If I were to go to him, I would follow him.' Then she asked them about the date-palm trees of Baysan. They replied, 'Big and good.' She asked about the spring of Zughar. They replied, 'Abundant and flowing; it quenches the thirst of the one who reaches it.' She asked, 'Is there a narrow mountain pass near it?' They replied, 'Yes.' She said, 'By Allah, this is how the mountain pass will be when he enters it, because he will be unable to pass through it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'This is Makkah and this is Al-Madinah.' Allah has made them sacred, as Abraham made Makkah sacred. There is no passage through them without an angel stationed, holding a sword, barring the way before the Dajjal until the Day of Judgment."  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْقَيْسِيِّ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَادَى «الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً» فِي سَاعَةٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُنَادِي فِيهَا فَخَرَجَ النَّاسُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَصَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أُنْذِرُكُمُ الدَّجَّالَ ثَلَاثًا إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيمَا مَضَى وَإِنَّهُ كَائِنٌ فِيكُمْ أَيَّتُهَا الْأُمَّةُ وَإِنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ بَحْرَ الشَّامِ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ لَخْمٍ وَجُذَامٍ فَأَلْقَتْهُمُ الرِّيحَ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِهِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالدَّهْمَاءِ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَهَا فَقَالُوا مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا أَخْبِرِينَا قَالَتْ مَا أَنَا بِمُخْبِرِكُمْ وَلَا اسْتَخْبَرْتُكُمْ وَلَكِنِ ائْتُوا رَجُلًا فِي هَذَا الدَّيْرِ فَإِنَّهُ إِلَى خَبَرِكُمْ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ فَأَتَوْهُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مَمْسُوحُ الْعَيْنِ مَوْثُوقٌ إِلَى سَارِيَةٍ فِي الْحَدِيدِ فَقَالَ مَا أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا نَحْنُ الْعَرَبُ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتِ الْعَرَبُ؟ قُلْنَا بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِمْ نَبِيٌّ أُمِّيٌّ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ النَّاسُ؟ قَالُوا اتَّبَعَهُ قَوْمٌ وَتَرَكَهُ قَوْمٌ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَهُ وَيُصَدِّقُونَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتِ الْعَرَبُ؟ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ لِباسُهُمْ؟ قُلْنَا صُوفٌ وَقُطْنٌ تَغْزِلُهُ نِسَاؤُهُمْ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَيْهَاتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ؟ قُلْنَا قَوِيَ ونَجِدُها فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَيْهَاتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قُلْنَا كَثِيرٌ مَاؤُهَا يَتَدَفَّقُ يَرْوِي مَنْ أَتَاهَا فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَيْهَاتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَوْ قَدْ أَطْلَقَنِي اللهُ مِنْ وَثَاقِي لَمْ يَبْقَ مَنْهَلٌ إِلَّا دَخَلْتُهُ إِلَّا مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي دُخُولُهُما قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تِلْكَ مَكَّةُ وَهَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ حَرَّمَهَا اللهُ كَمَا حَرَّمَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مَكَّةَ أَمَا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ نَقْبٌ وَلَا سِكَّةٌ إِلَّا وَعَلَيْهَا مَلَكٌ شَاهِرٌ للسَّيْفِ يَمْنَعُهَا مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[Machine] While the people in the city had no fear, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and performed the noon prayer. Then, he walked until he climbed the pulpit, which startled the people. When he saw their faces, he said, "O people, I did not come out to cause you alarm, but rather a matter came to me that brought me joy, so I wanted to inform you of the joy of your Prophet. Tamim Al-Dari informed me that his cousins, the people of Banu Amm, embarked on the sea until their ship reached an unknown island. They began to walk, and suddenly they found a man whom they did not know if it was a male or female, due to the abundance of hair on their body. They asked, 'Who are you?' The person replied, 'I am Al-Jassasah.' They demanded to be taken to the monastery, where they found a man tied up, who was extremely distressed. They asked, 'Who are you?' The man replied, 'I am from the people of Palestine, from the Arabian Peninsula.' They asked, 'Has your Prophet appeared?' He answered, 'Yes.' They asked, 'What did he do?' The man said, 'Some people pledged allegiance to him, while others opposed and fought him. I fought those who opposed him until the people of Al-Hijr and Al-Madhar gave him allegiance.' They asked, 'What happened to the lake of Tabariyah?' He replied, 'It is full and overflowing.' They asked, 'What happened to the Zughar spring?' He replied, 'Its water is also overflowing.' They asked, 'What about the date palms between 'Uman and Baysan?' He replied, 'They are abundant in fruit.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If I were not restrained by my oath, I would have walked on the Earth except into Al-Tayyibah.' 'Amr said, 'I met Muḥarrar bin Abi Hurayrah and narrated the story to him. He asked, 'Did it contain anything else?' I replied, 'No.' He said, 'You speak the truth, I bear witness on behalf of Abu Hurayrah that he narrated this to me and added more to it.' Then he said, 'What is the Mediterranean Sea?' 'What is the Euphrates River?' He pointed twenty times with his hand towards the east. I met 'Abdullah bin Abu Bakr and narrated the story to him. He asked, 'Did it contain anything else?' I replied, 'No.' He said, 'You speak the truth, I bear witness on behalf of 'Aisha that she narrated this to me, but she said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And there is nothing but good in Al-Madina".'"

بَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فَزَعٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ إِذْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ يَمْشِي حَتَّى صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَفَزِعَ لِذَلِكَ النَّاسُ فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ قَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَمْ أَخْرُجُ لِأَمْرٍ أُفْزِعُكُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ أَتَانِي أَمَرٌ فَرِحْتُ لَهُ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِفَرَحِ نَبِيِّكُمْ إِنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ بَنِي عَمٍّ لَهُ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَانْتَهَتْ بِهِمْ سَفِينَتُهُمْ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ لَا يَعْرِفُونَهَا فَخَرَجُوا يَمْشُونَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بإِنْسانٍ لَا يَدْرُونَ أَذَكَرٌ هُوَ أَمْ أُنْثَى مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الشَّعْرِ قَالُوا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا فَحَدِّثِينا قَالَتْ ائْتُوا الدَّيْرَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ رَجُلًا بِالْأَشْوَاقِ إِلَى أَنْ تُحَدِّثُوهُ فَدَخَلُوا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِرَجُلٍ مُوثَقٍ يَتَأَوَّهُ شَدِيدُ التَّأَوُّهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ فِلَسْطِينَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ نَبِيُّهُمْ بَعْدُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا صَنَعَ؟ قَالُوا بَايَعَهُ قَوْمٌ وفَارَقَهُ قَوْمٌ فَقَاتَلَ مِنْ رِفاقِهِ بِمَنْ بَايَعَهُ حَتَّى أَعْطَاهُ أَهْلَ الْحَجَرِ وَالْمَدَرِ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قَالُوا مُمْتَلِئَةٌ تَدْفُقُ جَنَبَاتُهَا قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قَالُوا تَدْفُقُ جَنَبَاتُهَا قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلٌ بَيْنَ عُمَانَ وَبَيْسَانَ؟ قَالُوا يُطْعِمُ قَالَ لَوْ قَدْ أَفْلَتُّ مِنْ وَثَاقِي هَذَا لَقَدْ وَطِئْتُ الْأَرْضَ إِلَّا طَيْبَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هِيَ طَيْبَةُ مَرَّتَيْنِ الْمَدِينَةُ مَا فِيهَا طَرِيقٌ وَلَا مَوْضِعٌ ضَيِّقٌ وَلَا وَاسِعٌ سَهْلٌ وَلَا صَعْبٌ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ شَاهِرٌ سَيْفَهُ لَوْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَهَا لَضَرَبَ وَجْهَهُ بِالسَّيْفِ» قَالَ عَامِرٌ فَلَقِيتُ مُحَرَّرُ بْنَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ زَادَتْ فِيهِ شَيْئًا؟ فَقُلْتُ لَا فَقَالَ صَدَقَتْ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَنِي وَزَادَنِي فِيهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «بَحْرُ الشَّامِ مَا هُوَ؟ بَحْرُ الْعِرَاقِ مَا هُوَ؟» ثُمَّ أَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ عِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً فَلَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ زادَتْكَ فِيهِ شَيْئًا؟ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ صَدَقَتْ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْنِي وَلَكِنَّهَا قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ مَا فِيهَا»

[Machine] Amr Al-Shabi narrated to me, Fatimah bint Qais said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day and prayed the prayer of migration, then he sat down and the people were startled. He said, "O people, I did not leave my place out of fear, but Tamim Al-Dari came to me and told me news that prevented me from taking a nap with joy and ease. So I wanted to give you the good news of your Prophet. He informed me that a group of his relatives from the Banu 'Amir rode the sea and a storm struck them, so they took refuge on an island. They sat near a ship until they boarded the island, and suddenly they saw a creature with a lot of hair, they did not know whether it was a man or a woman. They greeted him and he responded. They said, 'Will you not tell us who you are?' He replied, 'I am not informing you nor am I interrogating you, but there is someone in this monastery who is eager to inform you and to interrogate you.' They asked, 'And who are you?' He said, 'I am the spy.' So they set out until they reached the monastery, and they found a man who was tightly bound in iron chains, looking very sad and complaining a lot. They greeted him and he responded. They asked, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am from the Arabs.' They asked, 'What did the Arabs do to their Prophet after he was expelled?' They said, 'They believed in him, followed him, and confirmed him.' He said, 'That is good for them.' They asked, 'Did he have any enemies?' He said, 'Yes, and Allah supported him over them.' They asked, 'Do the Arabs have one God?' He said, 'Yes.' They asked, 'Do they have one word?' He said, 'Yes.' They asked, 'Do they have one religion?' He said, 'Yes.' They asked, 'What did 'Uyaynah bin Hisn do?' They said, 'He distributed the water of the wells to his people, and they watered their crops with it.' They asked, 'What did the palm tree between 'Umman and Bayssan do?' They said, 'It provides shade for its branches every year.' They asked, 'What did Lake Tabariyyah do?' They said, 'It is full.' He exclaimed, 'Then he sighed twice and said, 'By Allah, if I were to go out of my place here, I would not leave any land of Allah's except that I would tread it, except for Taibah, for it is not mine to tread on. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, this is one of the things that make me happy.' He said that three times. Indeed, Taibah is Al-Madinah. Then Allah has made it forbidden for the Dajjal. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ swore, 'By Allah, who there is no god but He, there is no narrow path or wide valley for it, nor any mountain, except that it has an angel standing with a drawn sword until the Day of Resurrection. The Dajjal cannot enter it with its people.' Al-Shabi said, 'So I met Al-Muharrar ibn Abi Hurairah and I narrated to him the Hadith of Fatimah, and he said, 'I bear witness that my father narrated to me as Fatimah narrated to you, except that he said, 'It is in the east.' Then I met Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad and he said, 'I bear witness that 'A'ishah narrated to me as Fatimah narrated to you, except that she said, 'The two sanctuaries are Haram for it: Makkah and Al-Madinah.' And the wording of the Hadith is according to the Hadith of Yahya bin Sa'id and the others similar to it.

حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ الشَّعْبِيُّ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ فَصَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْهَاجِرَةِ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ فَفَزِعَ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَمْ أَقُمْ مَقَامِي هَذَا للفَزَعِ وَلَكِنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَتَانِي فَأَخْبَرَنِي خَبَرًا مَنَعَ مِنِّي الْقَيْلُولَةَ مَعَ الْفَرَحِ وَقُرَّةِ الْعَيْنِ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُبَشِّرَكُمْ بِفَرَحِ نَبِيِّكُمْ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ رَهْطًا مِنْ بَنِي عَمِّهِ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَأَصَابَهُمْ عَاصِفٌ فَأَلْجَأَتْهُمْ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ فَقَعَدُوا فِي قَرَبِ سَفِينَةٍ حَتَّى خَرَجُوا إِلَى الْجَزِيرَةِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِشَيْءٍ أَهْلَبَ كَثِيرِ الشَّعْرِ لَا يَدْرُونَ رَجُلٌ هُوَ أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ فَسَلَّمُوا عَلَيْهِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا أَلَا تُخْبِرُنَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَنَا بِمُخْبِرِكُمْ وَلَا مُسْتَخْبِرِكُمْ وَلَكِنَّ هَذَا الدَّيْرَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَفِيهِ مَنْ هُوَ إِلَى خَبَرِكُمْ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ أَنْ يُخْبِرَكُمْ وَأَنْ يَسْتَخْبِرَكُمْ قُلْنَا فَمَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ فَانْطَلَقُوا حَتَّى أَتَوُا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِرَجُلٍ مُوثَقٍ فِي الْحَدِيدِ شَدِيدِ الْوَثَاقِ مُظْهِرِ الْحُزْنِ كَثِيرِ التَّشَكِّي فَسَلَّمُوا عَلَيْهِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قُلْنَا مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتِ الْعَرَبُ أَخْرَجَ نَبِيُّهُمْ بَعْدُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلُوا؟ قُلْنَا خَيْرًا آمَنُوا بِهِ وَاتَّبَعُوهُ وَصَدَّقُوهُ قَالَ ذَاكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ قَالُوا وَكَانَ لَهُ أَعْدَاءٌ فَأَظْهَرَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ فَالْعَرَبُ إِلَهُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَكَلِمَتُهُمْ وَاحِدَةٌ وَدِينُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قَالُوا هِيَ طَافِحَةٌ يَشْرَبُ أَهْلُهَا سَقْيَهُمْ وَيَسْقُونَ مِنْهَا زَرْعَهُمْ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلٌ بَيْنَ عُمَانَ وَبَيْسَانَ؟ قَالُوا يُطْعِمُ جَنَاهُ كُلَّ عَامٍ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قَالُوا هِيَ مَلْأَى قَالَ فَزَفَرَ ثُمَّ زَفَرَ ثُمَّ حَلَفَ لَوْ قَدْ خَرَجْتُ مِنْ مَكَانِي هَذَا مَا تَرَكْتُ أَرْضًا مِنْ أَرْضِ اللهِ إِلَّا وَطَأْتُها غَيْرَ طَيْبَةَ لَيْسَ لِي عَلَيْهَا سُلْطَانٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ هَذَا مِمَّا أَفَرَحَنِي قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا إِنَّ طَيْبَةَ هِيَ الْمَدِينَةُ ثُمَّ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ حَرَمَيَّ عَلَى الدَّجَّالِ» ثُمَّ حَلَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَا لَهَا طَرِيقٌ ضَيِّقٌ وَلَا وَاسِعٌ سَهْلٌ وَلَا جَبَلٌ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ شَاهِرٌ بِالسَّيْفِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا يَسْتَطِيعُ الدَّجَّالُ أَنْ يَدْخُلَهَا عَلَى أَهْلِهَا» قَالَ قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ فَلَقِيتُ الْمُحَرَّرَ بْنَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ حَدِيثَ فَاطِمَةَ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَنِي كَمَا حَدَّثَتْكَ فَاطِمَةُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «هُوَ فِي الْمَشْرِقِ» ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْنِي كَمَا حَدَّثَتْكَ فَاطِمَةُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «الْحَرَمَانِ عَلَيْهِ حَرَامٌ مَكَّةُ وَالْمَدِينَةُ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَالْآخَرُونَ نَحْوَهُ

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit and said, "O people, Tamim ad-Dari informed me that some people from his tribe were in a ship in the sea, and it broke down. Some of them boarded a plank from the ship and they reached an island in the sea. Then, they came across a black, disheveled-haired woman. They asked her who she was, and she replied, 'I am the Jassasah. Are you surprised at me?' They said yes. She said, 'Enter the palace.' So, they entered and found a tied-up old man. They informed him about themselves, and he asked them, 'What did the Dajjal do?' They told him, and he asked, 'What has happened to the lake of Tiberias and the Palm trees of Baysan?' They informed him, and he said, 'By the One who swore by him, there is no place on Earth that I have not set foot on, except for Ta'if.' Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'This is Ta'if.'"  

الطبراني:٢١٤٢٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْباعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْقَطَّانُ الْمِصْرِيُّونَ قَالُوا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِزَامِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَعِدَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ أَنَّ أُنَاسًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ كَانُوا فِي الْبَحْرِ فِي سَفِينَةٍ لَهُمْ فَانْكَسَرَتْ فَرَكِبَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى لَوْحٍ مِنَ السَّفِينَةِ فَخَرَجُوا إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِامْرَأَةٍ شَعْثَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ لَهَا شَعَرٌ مُنْكَرٌ فَقَالُوا مَا أَنْتِ؟ فَقَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ أَتَعْجَبُونَ مِنِّي؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَادْخُلُوا الْقَصْرَ فَدَخَلُوا فَإِذَا شَيْخٌ مَرْبُوطٌ بسلاسلَ فَسَأَلَهُمْ مَنْ هُمْ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ وَمَا فَعَلَتِ الْبُحَيْرَةُ ونَخَلَاتُ بَيْسَانَ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي يُحْلَفُ بِهِ لَا يَبْقَى أَرْضٌ إِلَّا وَطَأْتُها بِقَدَمِي إِلَّا طَيْبَةُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَهَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ»

[Machine] While I was sitting in the mosque, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and sat on the pulpit, and the people gathered around him. I said to myself, "I want to hear what he has to say." So, I listened to him saying, "O people, why have I not gathered you for news that has come to me from an enemy of yours? But Tameem ad-Dari informed me that his cousins boarded a ship and were struck by a wind that they did not recognize if it was east or west. They landed on an island and found a beast tied with chains. They asked, 'What is this?' It replied, 'I am al-Jassasah (the spy).' They asked, 'What is the news?' It said, 'The news is with the owner of the monastery.' So, they went to the monastery and found the Dajjal (the Antichrist) chained in iron. They asked him, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am from the nation of Muhammad ﷺ .' They asked, 'Have you been sent?' He replied, 'Yes.' They asked, 'What has al-Buhayriyyah (the lake of Tiberias) done?' He informed them about it. They asked, 'How about the date-palms of Baysan?' He informed them about it. They asked, 'How about the spring of Zughar?' He informed them about it. Then, he pointed towards his legs and said, 'You see these two feet? There will not remain on earth a land that Allah has not set foot on through them except Makkah and Madinah while he is in the sea between the East and the West, and his pronunciation of the word 'pair' was incorrect."

بَيْنَا أَنَا جَالِسَةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَعَدَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَاجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ قَالَتْ وَدَعَوْتُ لِأَسْمَعَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَمْ أَجْمَعُكُمْ عَنْ خَبَرٍ جَاءَنِي مِنْ قِبَلِ عَدُوٍّ لَكُمْ وَلَكِنْ حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ أَنَّ بَنِي عَمٍّ لَهُ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَأَصَابَتْهُمْ رِيحٌ لَا يَدْرُونَ أَشَرَّقُوا أَمْ غَرَّبُوا فَأَرْسَوْا إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ فَخَرَجُوا يَمْشُونَ فِيهَا فَإِذَا هُمْ بِدَابَّةٍ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَهَا قَالُوا مَا هَذِهِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا فَمَا الْخَبَرُ؟ قَالَتْ الْخَبَرُ عِنْدَ صَاحِبِ الدِّيرِ فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى الدِّيرِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالدَّجَّالِ يَعْرِفُونَهُ مُوثَقٌ فِي الْحَدِيدِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ وَقَدْ بُعِثَ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتِ الْبُحَيْرِيَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةُ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ مَا فَعَلَ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ عَنْهَا فَأَشَارَ إِلَى رِجْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ تَرَوْنَ رِجْلَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ لَا تَبْقَى أَرْضٌ مِنْ أَرْضِ اللهِ إِلَّا وَطَأْتُهُمَا بِهِمَا إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ وَهُوَ فِي الْبَحْرِ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَهُوَ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ أَقْرَبُ وَلَفْظُهُمَا وَاحِدٌ

[Machine] Abu 'Umar ad-Darir and Abu 'Umar al-Hawdi said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, I am Dawud ibn Abi Hind, from 'Amir ash-Sha'bi, from Fatimah bint Qays al-Fihriyah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came one day hastening until he ascended the pulpit and the call to prayer was made for the people to pray in congregation. So he delivered a sermon and said: "I did not call you out of desire or fear, but Tamim ad-Dari informed me that a group from the people of Palestine embarked on a sea voyage, and the wind cast them onto an island from among the islands of the sea. There, they found a creature with long hair, the likes of which they had never seen before. They asked, 'Who are you?' It said, 'I am the Spy.' They asked, 'Inform us about ourselves.' It said, 'I am not the one who informs you or who can be informed by you. But in this monastery, there is a man who can inform you and you can ask him out of longing.' So they entered the monastery and found a man shackled with iron. They asked, 'Who are you?' He said, 'Who are you?' They said, 'We are Arabs.' He asked, 'Has the Prophet appeared among you?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Have the Arabs followed him?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Is it better for them that they have done so?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Has it appeared in Persia?' They said, 'No.' He said, 'Indeed, it will appear among them.' Then he asked, 'What did the one-eyed do?' They said, 'He caused much harm.' He asked, 'What happened to the Lake of Tabariyah?' They said, 'It dried up, leaving behind a meadow.' He asked, 'What happened to the date palm of Bayhan?' They said, 'It has fed its early fruits and leapt as though it would escape from its restraints.' Then he said to them, 'I am the Dajjal. I am going to emerge and will not leave any land except Makkah and Madinah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Give glad tidings, for the Muslims have been given good news. This is the land of Taibah (Madinah), it will not be entered by the Dajjal.'"

ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ وَأَبُو عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ الْفِهْرِيَّةِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ مُسْرِعًا حَتَّى صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَنُودِيَ فِي النَّاسِ الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً فَخَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَدْعُكُمْ لِرَغْبَةٍ وَلَا لِرَهْبَةٍ نَزَلَتْ وَلَكِنَّ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ قَوْمًا مِنْ أَهْلِ فِلَسْطِينَ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَأَلْقَتْهُمُ الرِّيحُ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِدَابَّةٍ أَشْعُرُ لَا نَدْرِي أَذَكَرٌ هُوَ أَمْ أُنْثَى لِكَثْرَةِ شَعْرِهَا فَقَالُوا مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ قَالُوا فَأَخْبِرِينَا قَالَتْ مَا أَنَا بِمُخْبِرَتِكُمْ وَلَا مُسْتَخْبِرَتِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ فِي هَذَا الدَّيْرِ رَجُلٌ هُوَ إِلَى أَنْ يُخْبِرَكُمْ وتَسْتَخْبِرُونَهُ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ فَدَخَلُوا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالرَّجُلِ مُصَفَّدٌ بِالْحَدِيدِ فَقَالُوا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ قَالُوا نَحْنُ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ ظَهَرَ مِنْكُمُ النَّبِيُّ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاتَّبَعَتْهُ الْعَرَبُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ قَالَ هَلْ ظَهَرَ عَلَى فَارِسَ؟ قَالُوا لَا قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ سَيَظْهَرُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قَالُوا هِيَ تَتَدَفَّقُ مَلْأَى قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ؟ قَالُوا هِيَ تَتَدَفَّقُ مَلْأَى قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ؟ قَالُوا قَدْ أَطْعَمَ أَوَائِلَهُ فَوَثَبَ حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ سَيُفْلِتُ مِنْ قُيُودِهِ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ أَمَا أَنِّي سَأَطَأُ الْأَرْضَ كُلَّهَا إِلَّا مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَبْشِرُوا فَبَشَّرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا»

[Machine] We were called to pray during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so we came out and sat behind the men's rows. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit and praised Allah and extolled Him. Then he said, "Indeed, your brother Tamim Ad-Dari narrated to me about his paternal cousins, who sailed on the sea and the wind blew them until they arrived at an island among the islands of the sea. They came out asking about the path, and they met a creature from the creatures of Allah that they had never seen before. It was greater than anything woven by the Children of Adam, and it was covered in hair. They asked it about the path, and it said, 'If you want to ask about the path, then ask the one who can give you knowledge and desires your speech.' So they asked it, 'Inform us about yourself.' It said, 'I am the Dassasah.' So we knew that it was a woman. We went to the monastery and entered it, where we saw a creature that we had never seen anything greater than before. It was filled from between the edges to the ankles with iron, wiped with dust from the eye. We asked it about the path, and it said, 'I will not inform you until you inform me about what I ask you about.' We said, 'Ask about what you see.' It said, 'Inform me about the Prophet of the Arabs. Has he appeared?' We said, 'Yes.' It asked, 'Who does he invoke?' So we informed it. It asked, 'How quickly do people respond to what he calls them to?' We said, 'Swiftly.' It said, 'That is better for them.' It asked, 'Inform me about the Tabariyyah Lake. What has it done?' We said, 'It overflows.' It asked, 'Inform me about the 'Ayn Zughar.' We said, 'It overflows.' It said, 'Ask about what you see.' We said, 'What are you?' It said, 'I am the Dajjal. By Allah, I will trample every inch of Allah's land except for Madinah.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'This is Taibah,' meaning, Madinah."

نُودِيَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةً فَخَرَجْنَا فَجَلَسْنَا خَلْفَ أَكْتَافِ الرِّجَالِ قَالَتْ فَصَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمِنْبَرَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ بَنِي عَمٍّ لَهُ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَذَهَبَتْ بِهِمُ الرِّيحَ حَتَّى أَلْجَأَتْهُمْ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَخَرَجُوا يَسْأَلُونَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ فَلَقُوا خَلْقًا مِنْ خَلْقِ اللهِ لَمْ يَرَوْا قَبْلَهُ شَيْئًا أَعْظَمَ مِنْهُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ مِمَّا نَسْجَ بَنُو آدَمَ وَقَدْ كَسَاهُ الشَّعْرُ قَالَ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَسْأَلُوا عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ مَنْ يُخْبِرُكُمْ ويَشْتَهِي حَدِيثَكُمْ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الدَّيْرِ فَقُلْنَا أَخْبِرِينَا مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الدَّسَّاسَةُ فَعَرَفْنَا أَنَّهَا امْرَأَةٌ فَمَضَيْنَا إِلَى الدَّيْرِ فَدَخَلْناهُ فَإِذَا خَلَقٌ لَمْ نَرَ قَطُّ أَعْظَمَ مِنْهُ مَمْلُوءًا مَا بَيْنَ تَرَاقِيهِ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ حَدِيدًا مَمْسُوحَ الْعَيْنِ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ مَا أَنَا مُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَتَّى تُحَدِّثُونِي عَمَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا سَلْ عَمَّا بَدَا لَكَ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ نَبِيِّ الْعَرَبِ هَلْ خَرَجَ بَعْدُ؟ فَقُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ إِلَى مَ يَدْعُو؟ فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ قَالَ كَيْفَ سُرْعَةُ النَّاسِ إِلَى مَا دَعَاهُمْ إِلَيْهِ؟ قُلْنَا سِرَاعٌ قَالَ ذَاكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ بُحَيْرَةِ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ مَا فَعَلَتْ؟ قُلْنَا تَطْفَحُ قَالَ أَخْبِرُونِي عَنْ عَيْنِ زُغَرٍ؟ قُلْنَا تَطْفَحُ قَالَ سَلُوا عَمَّا بَدَا لَكُمْ قَالَ قُلْنَا لَهُ مَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا تَبْقَى أَرْضٌ مِنْ أَرْضِ اللهِ إِلَّا وَطَأْتُها بِقَدَمَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ إِلَّا طَيْبَةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ» يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ

[Machine] I entered the city and sat by the pulpit. A man approached and sat next to me. He asked if I could direct him to someone who could tell him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . So, he accompanied me to Fatimah bint Qays, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood on the pulpit and the people heard about it. The people gathered and became excited. I was among those who went to him and I heard him say, "Tameem ad-Dari informed me that his cousins boarded a ship in the sea to do trade. The wind blew them to an island. As they landed or whoever from among them went out, they found a man covered in hair who could not be identified as male or female. They asked him about news, and he said the news is with the owner of this monastery, and I am the messenger. So, they went to the monastery, and there they found a man chained with iron and asked him who he was. He told them, 'What did the Prophet of the Arabs do after he left?' They replied, 'Yes, he did.' He asked them who followed him, the common people or the elite. They replied, 'The common people.' He asked if their number increased or decreased. They replied, 'It increased.' He asked if anyone went back from among those who followed him. They replied, 'No.' He said, 'This is good for them. How is the lake of Tabariyyah?' They replied, 'It has water.' He asked, 'How about the date-palm trees of Baysan?' They replied, 'They are carrying fruit.' He asked, 'How about the spring of Zughar?' They replied, 'It has water.' He said, 'If he invited me, I would have trodden with my foot on all this land, except Taiba.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'This is Taiba, on every side of which is an angel with a drawn sword, its sword aimed at the enemy.'"

دَخَلْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَجَلَسْتُ عِنْدَ الْمِنْبَرِ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَجَلَسَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ هَلْ تَدُلُّنِي عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَقَالَتْ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَسَمِعَ النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ قَامَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَأَقْبَلَ النَّاسُ يَشْتَدُّونَ وَكُنْتُ مِمَّنْ أَتَاهُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ أَنَّ بَنِي عَمٍّ لَهُ رَكِبُوا فِي سَفِينَةٍ لَهُمْ فِي الْبَحْرِ تُجَّارًا فَضَرَبَتْ بِهِمُ الرِّيحُ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ فَخَرَجُوا أَوْ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْهُمْ هَلْ يَرَوْنَ أَحَدًا؟ حَتَّى لَقِيَهُمْ مَنْ غَطَّاهُ الشَّعْرُ مَا يَسْتَبِينُ مِنْهُ ذَاكَ أَذَكَرٌ أَمْ أُنْثَى قَالُوا الْخَبَرُ قَالَ الْخَبَرُ عِنْدَ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الدَّيْرِ فَأَنَا الْجَسَّاسُ فَأَتَوُا الدَّيْرَ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُوقَرٌ بِالْحَدِيدِ فَسَأَلَهُمْ مِمَّنْ هُمْ؟ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ مَا فَعَلَ نَبِيُّ الْعَرَبِ أَخْرَجَ بَعْدُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ مَنْ يَتْبَعُهُ السَّفَلَةُ أَمْ أَشْرَافُ النَّاسِ قَالُوا يَتْبَعُهُ السُّفَهَاءُ قَالَ يَكْثُرُونَ أَمْ يَقِلُّونَ؟ قَالُوا يَكْثُرُونَ قَالَ يَرْجِعُ أَحَدٌ مِمَّنْ أَتَاهُ؟ قَالُوا لَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ مَا فَعَلَتْ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ هَلْ فِيهَا مَاءٌ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ هَلْ تَحْمِلُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَتْ عَيْنُ زُغَرٍ هَلْ فِيهَا مَاءٌ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا أَنَّهُ لَوْ قَدْ آذَنَ لِي لَقَدْ وَطَأْتُ بِرِجْلِي هَذِهِ الْأَرْضَ كُلَّهَا غَيْرَ طَيْبَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَهَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ عَلَى كُلِّ نَقْبٍ مِنْهَا مَلَكٌ شَاهِرٌ سَيْفَهُ نَحْوَ الْعِرَاقِ مَا هُوَ نَحْوَ الْعِرَاقِ مَا هُوَ»

[Machine] We entered upon Fatimah bint Qays and she treated us to dates, filled us with barley bread, and said that they had called out to the people that prayer was to be held in congregation. So I went out with those who went out from the women and I was in the first row of women after the last row of men. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Indeed, the Banu 'Amr bin Tamim are riding in the sea and their ship has thrown them to an island from among the islands of the sea, and they saw a beast covering its hair. When the people looked at it, it said: "I am Al-Jassasah. And indeed, the one who is yearning to see you is in that monastery." So the people set out and found a man sitting in iron chains, so they were amazed by their entry. He asked them: "Did you bring out your companion?" They said: "Yes." He said: "What did Al-Bahr Al-Tubariyah do?" They said: "It has much water." He said: "So what did the date palm of Bayshan do?" They said: "It has much water." He said: "And the spring of Zughar?" They said: "It has much water." He said: "If I were to go out, I would conquer all of the lands except for Makkah and Ta'if." She said: "It is as if I can see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing with his hand, saying: 'This is Ta'if, nodding towards Al-Madinah.'"

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَأَتْحَفَتْنَا بِرُطَبٍ وَشَبَّعَتْنا سَوِيقَ سَلْتٍ وَقَالَتْ نُودِيَ فِي النَّاسِ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ جَامِعَةٌ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فِيمَنِ انْطَلَقَ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ فَكُنْتُ فِي الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مِمَّا يَلِي الصَّفَّ الْمُؤَخَّرِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ بَنِي عَمٍّ لِتَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ رَكِبُوا فِي الْبَحْرِ وَإِنَّ سَفِينَتَهُمْ قَذَفَتْهُمْ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَرَأَوْا هُنَاكَ دَابَّةً يُوَارِيهَا شَعْرُهَا فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا الْقَوْمُ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ وَإِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ الدَّيْرِ مَنْ هُوَ بِالْأَشْوَاقِ إِلَى رُؤْيَتِكُمْ فَانْطَلَقَ الْقَوْمُ فَوَجَدُوا إِنْسَانًا مُكَبَّلًا بِالْحَدِيدِ يُصادِرُونَهُ فَكَأَنَّهُ أَعْجَبَهُ دُخُولُهُمْ فَسَأَلَهُمْ أَخْرَجَ صَاحِبُكُمْ بَعْدُ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ بُحَيْرَةُ الطَّبَرِيَّةِ مَا فَعَلَ؟ قُلْنَا كَثِيرَةُ الْمَاءِ قَالَ فَمَا فَعَلَ نَخْلُ بَيْسَانَ؟ قُلْنَا قَدْ أَطْعَمَ قَالَ فَعَيْنُ زُغَرٍ؟ قُلْنَا كَثِيرَةُ الْمَاءِ قَالَ أَمَا أَنِّي لَوْ خَرَجْتُ لَوَطَأْتُ الْبِلَادَ كُلَّهَا غَيْرَ مَكَّةَ وَطَيْبَةَ قَالَتْ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَشْخَصَ يَدَهُ «هَذِهِ طَيْبَةُ يُومِئُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ»

[Machine] I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays, so she brought me some dates and I said, "Indeed, this is good." So she said, "Who are you?" I said, "Aamir." She said, "The Shu'abi?" I said, "Yes." Then I said, "Tell me a narration that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." So she said, "He stood one day on the pulpit and the people gathered. He said, 'O people, news of your enemy has not reached me. However, Tameem Ad-Dari narrated to me that a group of his people rode the sea and a strong wind blew them towards an island where they landed. Suddenly, they were faced with a beast dragging its hair. We said, 'Who are you?' It said, 'I am Al-Jassasah and Ad-Dasasah.' It said, 'Go to that monastery for there is news there.' So we set off and found the Dajjal standing there. He said, 'Who are you?' We said, 'We are from the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ .' He rejoiced and said, 'Has Muhammad ﷺ been sent as a Messenger?' Then he asked about the spring of Zughar, Tabariyyah, and the palm trees of Baysan. Then he tied one of his legs and said, 'If I were to release it, I would trample upon the earth except for Makkah and Madinah.'"  

الطبراني:٢١٤٣٥حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا كَامِلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَقَرَّبَتْ إِلَيَّ تَمْرًا فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ هَذَا لَطَيِّبٌ فَقَالَتْ مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ فَقُلْتُ عَامِرٌ فَقَالَتْ الشَّعْبِيُّ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقُلْتُ حَدِّثِينِي حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتِيهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ قَامَ يَوْمًا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْتِنِي خَبَرٌ مِنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَلَكِنْ حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ رَكِبُوا الْبَحْرَ فَعَصَفَتِ الرِّيحُ فَأَضَافَتْهُمْ إِلَى جَزِيرَةٍ فَنَزَلُوا فَإِذَا هُمْ بِدَابَّةٍ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَهَا فَقُلْنَا مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ فَقَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ وَالدَّسَّاسَةُ قَالَتْ انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى ذَاكَ الدَّيْرِ فَإِنَّ ثَمَّ الْخَبَرَ وَإِذْ دَيْرٌ قَرِيبٌ قَالُوا فَانْطَلَقْنَا فَإِذَا الدَّجَّالُ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتُمْ؟ فَقَالُوا مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَفَرِحَ وَقَالَ أَوَقَدْ بُعِثَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ؟ ثُمَّ سَأَلَهُمْ عَنْ عَيْنِ زُغَرٍ وطَبَرِيَّةَ وَعَنْ نَخَلَاتِ بَيْسَانَ ثُمَّ شالَ إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُمَا مُقَيَّدَتانِ فَقَالَ لَوْ قَدْ أُطْلِقَتْ هَذِهِ لَوَطَأْتُ الْأَرْضَ بِهَا إِلَّا مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةَ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, in your wealth, there is a right other than Zakat."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ فِي أَمْوَالِكُمْ حَقًّا سِوَى الزَّكَاةِ»

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing and using gold. A woman threw a gold bracelet, and it remained in the mosque for several days without anyone taking it."  

الطبراني:٢١٤٤٧حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ حُرَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي مَطَرٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لِبَاسِ الذَّهَبِ ونَظْمِهِ» فَرَمَتِ امْرَأَةٌ بِسِوَارٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَمَكَثَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَيَّامًا لَمْ يَأْخُذُهُ أَحَدٌ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke to me, so I apologized to him and he excused me.  

الطبراني:٢١٤٥١حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ

«خَطَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاعْتَذَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَعَذَرَنِي»

[Machine] I was passing by this verse and I didn't know what it meant. His saying "at evening and in the morning" until Umm Hani bint Abi Talib narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her and he called for ablution in a container. It was as if I was seeing the traces of dough in it. So he performed ablution and then stood to pray Duha and said, "O Umm Hani, this is the prayer of the morning brightness."  

الطبراني:٢١٤٥٢حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُجَاشِعِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ وَاسْمُهُ سَلْمَى عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَمُرُّ بِهَذِهِ الْآيَةِ فَمَا أَدْرِي مَا هِيَ؟ قَوْلُهُ {بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ} حَتَّى حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فِي جَفْنَةٍ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى أَثَرِ الْعَجِينِ فِيهَا فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ هَذِهِ صَلَاةُ الْإِشْرَاقِ»

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed eight Rak'ahs of Sunnah after the Sunnah of Duha prayer and he would conclude with Salaam after every two Rak'ahs."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى يَوْمًا صَلَاةَ سُبْحَةِ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ يُسَلِّمُ مِنْ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ»
