Abu Salamah bin ‘Abd Al Rahman reported on the authority of Fatimah daughter of Qais Abu ‘Amr bin Hafs divorced her (Fatimah daughter of Qais) absolutely when he was away from home and his agent sent her home barley. She was displeased with it. He said “I swear by Allah, you have no claim on us. She then came to Apostle of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He said to her “No maintenance is due to you from him. He ordered her to spend the waiting period in the house of Umm Sharik but he said afterwards “that is a woman whom my Companions visit. Spend the waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum for he is blind and you can undress. Then when you are in a position of being remarried, tell me.” She said “When I was in a position to remarry, I mentioned to him that Mu’awiyah bin Abi Sufyan and Abu Jahm had asked me in marriage. The Apostle of Allah ﷺsaid “As for Abu Jahm, he does not put down his stick from his shoulder, and as for Mu’awiyah he is a poor man who has no property; marry Usamah bin Zaid. I disliked him but he said “Marry Usamah bin Zaid. So, I married him. And Allah prospered him very much and I was envied.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2284)

[Machine] My husband divorced me, and he used to provide me with food that was bad. I was a woman with no one else, so I said, "By Allah, if I have any provision, I will seek it." So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "There is no provision or accommodation for you. Go to the house of Ibn Um Maktum, for he is blind. When you are released, inform me." So when I was released, I informed him, and he said, "Who proposed to you?" I said, "Muawiyah and another man." He said, "As for Muawiyah, he is a young man among the youth of Quraish who has nothing in his hand or anything for him. And as for the other man, he is a companion of evil. So marry Osama bin Zaid." I disliked it, but he said, "Marry him." So I married him.

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated on the authority of Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Amr, who narrated from Abu Salamah, who narrated from Fatimah bint Qays, that she was married to a man from the Banu Makhzum tribe. He divorced her instantly. She sent word to her family to seek financial support, but they refused, saying they had no responsibility towards her financial needs. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard about this, he said, "You are not entitled to financial support from them, but you must observe the waiting period. Go to the household of Umm Shareek instead." Then he said, "Umm Shareek will be visited by her brothers from among the Muhajireen. No, you must go to the household of Ibn Umm Maktum. He is a blind man; even if you were to uncover your clothing, he wouldn't see anything. And don't cause harm to yourself." When the waiting period ended, she mentioned that Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan and Abu Jahl proposed to marry her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Muawiya has no wealth, and Abu Jahl doesn't even remove his stick from his shoulder. Where are you in regard to Usama?" It seemed as if her family disliked that. She said, "By Allah, I will only marry the one to whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructs me to marry." So she married him.

[Machine] She was married to a man from the Banu Makhzum tribe, but he divorced her immediately. She sent a message to her family seeking financial support, but they replied that they have no responsibility towards her expenses. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was informed about this, and he said, "They have no obligation to provide for you, but you must observe 'iddah (waiting period). Move to the house of Umm Sharik." Then he said, "Umm Sharik's brothers, who are among the early migrants, will visit her. Move to the house of the son of Umm Makhtoom, as he is a blind man. If you undress in front of him, he will not see anything. Do not burden us with your presence." When the waiting period ended, some men mentioned her to the Prophet ﷺ, asking, "Where is she in comparison to Usama?" It seemed that her family disliked this, so she said, "By Allah, I will only marry the one whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ chooses for me." Thus, she married him.

[Machine] Her husband Hafsa bin Al-Mughira Al-Makhzumi divorced her three times during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then he went to Yemen. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "She does not have any maintenance and she must observe the waiting period." He sent a messenger to her and said, "Do not rush ahead of me in deciding for yourself." He ordered her to move in with her mother, Umm Sharik. Then he sent to her, "Umm Sharik will be visited by the first Muhaajiroon, so move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum." When her waiting period ended, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her to Usamah bin Zaid bin Harithah.

[Machine] Her husband divorced her during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, may ﷺ . He used to provide for her, but when she saw that he had stopped providing for her, she said, "By Allah, I will speak to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . If I have a provision, I will take what is sufficient for me, and if I do not have a provision, I will not take anything." So I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, "You will not have a place to live nor will you receive any provision."

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the final night prayer of Isha and then went out and said, "I was held back by a conversation that Tamim ad-Dari was having with me, regarding a man who was in one of the islands of the sea. He would have his hair pulled by a woman, and he would ask her, 'Who are you?' She would reply, 'I am a witch. Are you amazed by me?' He would say, 'Yes,' and she would tell him, 'Go to that palace.' So, I went to it, and I found a man with hair spread out like a net, chained up, his feet between the sky and the earth. I asked him, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'I am the Dajjal, the False Messiah. Did the Prophet of the Unlettered people come out?' I said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Have they obeyed him or disobeyed him?' I said, 'They have obeyed him.' He said, 'That is better for them. Have the waters dried up?'"
