[Machine] She was married to a man from the Banu Makhzum tribe, but he divorced her immediately. She sent a message to her family seeking financial support, but they replied that they have no responsibility towards her expenses. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was informed about this, and he said, "They have no obligation to provide for you, but you must observe 'iddah (waiting period). Move to the house of Umm Sharik." Then he said, "Umm Sharik's brothers, who are among the early migrants, will visit her. Move to the house of the son of Umm Makhtoom, as he is a blind man. If you undress in front of him, he will not see anything. Do not burden us with your presence." When the waiting period ended, some men mentioned her to the Prophet ﷺ, asking, "Where is she in comparison to Usama?" It seemed that her family disliked this, so she said, "By Allah, I will only marry the one whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ chooses for me." Thus, she married him.
