[Machine] A man from the tribe of Makhzum divorced his wife on the spot. She then sent word to her family seeking financial support, but they refused to provide for her. So she went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of her situation. He told her that her family was not obligated to support her, but she must observe the waiting period. He advised her to go to Umm Sharik, who was a woman frequented by her brothers from the early Muslim migrants. She then should go to the son of Umm Maktoom, who was a blind man. If she were to undress in front of him, he would not see anything. The Prophet ﷺ added, "Do not put us in a difficult position." She replied, "When I am free of my obligations, men will want to propose to me." The Prophet then asked, "And what about Osama?" She did not like that suggestion and said, "I will only marry the one you mentioned." So she got married. Muhammad bin Amr narrated from Muhammad bin Ibrahim that Aisha used to advise Fatimah, saying, "Fear Allah, for I know what led to this."

And as for Abu Jahl, he is a man who never removes his cane from his shoulder. Where are you in regards to Osama bin Zaid?" It seemed like her family disliked it, so she said, "I will not marry anyone except the one to whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called me." So, she married him."

[Machine] She was under the authority of a man from the Quraysh tribe of Banu Makhzum, but he divorced her abruptly. She then sent a message to her family seeking financial support, but they informed her that they had no provision for her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of this, and he said, "You have no financial support, but you have an 'iddah (waiting period). Move to the house of Umm Sharik and do not burden us with your presence." Then he said, "Umm Sharik is a woman who is visited by her brothers from the Muhajirin, but move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum, for he is a blind man. If you take off your clothes, he will not see anything, and do not burden us with your presence." So she went to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum, and when she arrived, she remembered that Mu'awiyah and Abu Jahm had proposed to her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for Mu'awiyah, he is a man without wealth, and as for Abu Jahm, he does not take his cane off his shoulder. So where do you stand with regard to Usamah?" Her family seemed to dislike this, so she said, "By Allah, I will not marry anyone except the one whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has mentioned." Therefore, she married Usamah. Muhammad ibn Amr said that Muhammad ibn Ibrahim said, "O Fatimah, fear Allah, for you have known what this meant."

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated on the authority of Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Amr, who narrated from Abu Salamah, who narrated from Fatimah bint Qays, that she was married to a man from the Banu Makhzum tribe. He divorced her instantly. She sent word to her family to seek financial support, but they refused, saying they had no responsibility towards her financial needs. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard about this, he said, "You are not entitled to financial support from them, but you must observe the waiting period. Go to the household of Umm Shareek instead." Then he said, "Umm Shareek will be visited by her brothers from among the Muhajireen. No, you must go to the household of Ibn Umm Maktum. He is a blind man; even if you were to uncover your clothing, he wouldn't see anything. And don't cause harm to yourself." When the waiting period ended, she mentioned that Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan and Abu Jahl proposed to marry her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Muawiya has no wealth, and Abu Jahl doesn't even remove his stick from his shoulder. Where are you in regard to Usama?" It seemed as if her family disliked that. She said, "By Allah, I will only marry the one to whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructs me to marry." So she married him.
