[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a drink on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and he drank from it. Then he passed it to me, and I drank from it, while I was fasting. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I drank while I was fasting." He said, "Did you spill anything on yourself?" I said, "No." He said, "Then it does not harm you."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي فَشَرِبْتُ وَكُنْتُ صَائِمَةً فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي شَرِبْتُ وَكُنْتُ صَائِمَةً فَقَالَ «كُنْتِ تَقْضِينَ عَنْكِ شَيْئًا؟» قُلْتُ فَلَا قَالَ «فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ»  

[Machine] About his grandmother, Umm Hani bint Abi Talib, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah favored the Quraysh with seven qualities that no one before them had been given, nor will anyone after them be given. Allah favored the Quraysh by choosing me from among them, as prophethood is in them. And the honor of the Kaaba is in them. And the responsibility of serving the pilgrims is in them. And their victory over the people of the elephant. And they worshiped Allah for ten years with no one else worshiping Him. And Allah revealed a Surah of the Qur'an about them that was not revealed about anyone else."  

عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَضَّلَ اللهُ قُرَيْشًا بِسَبْعِ خِصَالٍ لَمْ يُعْطَهَا أَحَدٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا يُعْطَاهَا أَحَدٌ بَعْدَهُمْ فَضَّلَ اللهُ قُرَيْشًا أَنِّي مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ النُّبُوَّةَ فِيهِمْ وَإِنَّ الْحِجابَةَ فِيهِمْ وَإِنَّ السِّقَايَةَ فِيهِمْ ونَصَرَهُمْ عَلَى الْفِيلِ وعَبَدُوا اللهَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ لَا يَعْبُدُهُ غَيْرُهُمْ وَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِيهِمْ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ لَمْ تَنْزِلْ فِي أَحَدٍ غَيْرِهِمْ  

[Machine] "She came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was judging among the people, and he continued judging between them until the day started to rise. Then he stood up and performed the Duha prayer of eight units."  

«أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ حَتَّى ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and wore a white garment on the year of the conquest (of Mecca), then he prayed eight units (rak'ahs)."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ اغْتَسَلَ وَتَوَشَّحَ بِثَوْبٍ وَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ»  

Ibn ‘Abbas said “Umm Hani daughter of Abu Talib told me that in the year of the conquest she gave protection to a man from the polytheists. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned it to him. He said “We have given security to those to whom you have given it.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2763)  

حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهَا أَجَارَتْ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ وَأَمَّنَّا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet entered upon her and a vessel was brought to him, and he drank from it. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I was fasting, but I disliked to interupt your fasting." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If it is a make-up fast from Ramadan, then make it up another day. And if it is a voluntary fast, then complete it. And if you wish, you may break it."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فَشَرِبَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً وَلَكِنِّي كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ سُؤْرَكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كَانَ قَضَاءً مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَاقْضِيهِ يَوْمًا آخَرَ وَإِنْ كَانَ تَطَوُّعًا فَاقْضِيهِ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَلَا تَقْضِيِهِ»  

[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ and he was brought a drink. He drank from it and then handed it to me, and I drank from it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so seek forgiveness for me." He asked, "What is it?" I said, "I was fasting and I broke my fast." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were you fulfilling any obligations?" She said, "No." He said, "Then it does not harm you."  

كُنْتُ قَاعِدَةً عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِيهِ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَذْنَبْتُ ذَنْبًا فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِي قَالَ «وَمَا ذَاكَ؟» قُلْتُ كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً فَأَفْطَرْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمِنْ قَضَاءٍ كُنْتِ تَقْضِيهِ؟» قَالَتْ لَا قَالَ «فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ»  

[Machine] I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a drink was brought and he drank from it, then he handed it to me and I drank from it. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I only see myself in a state of impurity." He asked, "What is that?" I said, "I was fasting and I disliked returning your hand, so I drank." He said, "Were you making up a missed fast?" I said, "No." He said, "Then it does not harm you."  

كُنْتُ قَاعِدَةً عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا قَدْ أَتَيْتُ حَدَثًا قَالَ «وَمَا ذَاكَ؟» قَالَتْ كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ يَدَكَ فَشَرِبْتُ قَالَ «مِنْ صَوْمٍ كُنْتِ تَقْضِيهِ؟» قَالَتْ لَا قَالَ «فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ»  

[Machine] Narrated Umm Hani bint Abi Talib, who was his (i.e., the Prophet's) paternal aunt, said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, I used to pray a prayer which I now consider insignificant; so, guide me to an act which I can perform, and by which Allah, the Exalted, may reward me while I am in my house. He said: O Umm Hani', when you wake up in the morning, say: Subhan Allah one hundred times, and say: Al-Hamdu lillah one hundred times, and say: Allahu Akbar one hundred times, and say: La ilaha illallah one hundred times. For, indeed, these one hundred tasbihahs will be equivalent to one hundred camels, which will bring you (i.e., their reward) and which you will give away in charity, and one hundred takbirahs will be equivalent to one hundred horses, and you will give them to the fighters in the Way of Allah and one hundred tahmidahs (saying, "Al-Hamdu lillah" = All praise be to Allah) do not let any sin remain upon you before that (i.e., before saying "Al-Hamdu lillah") or after that.  

عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَهِيَ جَدَّتُهُ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي صَلَاةً ثَقُلْتُ عَنْهَا فَدُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمِلٍ أَعْمَلُهُ يَأْجُرَنِي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا قَاعِدَةٌ قَالَ «يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتِ سَبِّحِي اللهَ مِائَةً وهَلِّلِيهِ مِائَةً وَاحْمَدِيهِ مِائَةً وَكَبِّرِيهِ مِائَةً فَإِنَّ مِائَةَ تَسْبِيحَةٍ كَمِائَةِ بَدَنَةٍ وَمِائَةَ تَكْبِيرَةٍ كَمِائَةِ بَدَنَةٍ تُهْدِينَها وَمِائَةَ تَهْلِيلَةٍ لَا تُبْقِي ذَنْبًا قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا»  

[Machine] She entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest of Mecca. He presented me with a drink, so she took a sip from it and gave me a drink. She said, "I was fasting, but I disliked turning down your drink." He said, "Were you menstruating?" I said, "No." He said, "Then it does not harm you."  

أَنَّهَا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَأَتَانِي بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ وَسَقَاها قَالَتْ إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً وَلَكِنِّي كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ عَلَيْكَ شَرَابُكَ قَالَ «كُنْتِ تَقْضِينَ؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «لَا يَضُرُّكِ»  

[Machine] "I was listening to the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was on my roof, meaning his recitation in the night prayer." And Abu Al-Ala, who narrated this hadith from him, is Hilal Ibn Khabbab."  

لَأَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَرِيشَتِي يَعْنِي قِرَاءَتَهُ فِي صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ» وَأَبُو الْعَلَاءِ الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ مِسْعَرٌ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ هُوَ هِلَالُ بْنُ خَبَّابٍ  

[Machine] I hear the recitation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I am on my bed praying.  

أَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَرِيشِي أُصَلِّي»  

[Machine] "I hear the recitation of the Prophet ﷺ being reviewed in the depths of the night while I am reclining on my bed."  

أَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُرَاجِعُ بِهَا فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا مُتَّكِئَةٌ عَلَى عَرِيشِي»  

[Machine] On the authority of Badaam Abu Salih, the servant of Umm Hani' that Umm Hani' said, "I asked the Prophet ﷺ about this verse: 'And you are being intimate with the corrupt in your gatherings' (Quran 26:224). He said, 'They used to sit on the path and ridicule the travelers and make fun of them.'"  

عَنْ بَاذَامَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ أَنَّ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنْكَرَ} قَالَ «كَانُوا يَجْلِسُونَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَيَحْذِفُونَ ابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ»  

[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about his saying, "And you do not pass by any group of people but they will taunt them." He said, "They used to mock and make fun of anyone who passed by them on the road."  

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنْكَرَ} قَالَ «كَانُوا يَحْذِفُونَ مَنْ مَرَّ بِهِمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُ»  

[Machine] Ali, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he performed ablution and then prayed eight units of prayer that he had not prayed before that day or after it.  

«دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّهُنَّ قَبْلَ يَوْمِئِذٍ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ was brought water when he conquered Mecca, but they blocked his way. He performed ablution, then offered eight units of prayer that no one saw him offer again after that.  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ لَمَّا فَتْحَ مَكَّةَ بِمَاءٍ فَحَجَبُوهُ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ صَلَّاهُنَّ بَعْدُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ proposed to me, but I was not permissible for him because I had not immigrated. Then, Allah revealed: "And (also prohibited are) the wives of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who immigrated with you."  

خَطَبَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلَمْ أَكُنْ أُحِلُّ لَهُ لِأَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ هَاجَرْتُ فَنَزَلَتْ {وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّاتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالَاتِكَ اللَّاتِي هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ}  

[Machine] "I have never seen the stomach of the Prophet ﷺ without remembering the Qaratis, some of them overlapping with each other."  

«مَا رَأَيْتُ بَطْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَطُّ إِلَّا ذَكَرْتُ الْقَرَاطِيسَ بَعْضُهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to me, but I declined. He asked me why I declined, so I gave him my reasons. Allah then revealed the verse, "Indeed, We have made lawful to you your wives" until "and [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins. And [prohibited are] the daughters of your brothers and the daughters of your sisters" (Quran 33:50). So, I became permissible for him since I did not migrate with him. I was among those who were divorced.  

خَطَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاعْتَذَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَعَذَرَنِي فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {إِنَّا أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَاجَكَ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {وَبَنَاتِ خَالَاتِكَ اللَّاتِي هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ} فَلَمْ أَكُنْ أُحِلُّ لَهُ لَمْ أُهَاجِرْ مَعَهُ كُنْتُ مِنَ الطُّلَقَاءِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once passed by me and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have become old, so tell me of a deed that I can do while sitting." He said, "Say Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) one hundred times, for it is equivalent to freeing one hundred slaves from the descendants of Isma'il. Say Alhamdulillah (All praise be to Allah) one hundred times, for it is equivalent to increasing one hundred fast horses carrying warriors. Say Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest) one hundred times, for it is equivalent to performing one hundred accepted Hajj. Say La ilaha illallah (There is no deity but Allah) one hundred times, for it fills the space between the heavens and the earth, and no deed can surpass it except for the one who does the same."  

مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ كَبِرْتُ فَمُرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَعْمَلُهُ وَأَنَا جَالِسَةٌ فَقَالَ «سَبِّحِي اللهَ مِائَةَ تَسْبِيحَةٍ فَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ مِائَةَ رَقَبَةٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَاحْمَدِي اللهَ مِائَةَ تَحْمِيدَةٍ فَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ مِائَةَ فَرَسٍ مُسْرَجَةٍ مُلْجَمَةٍ تَحْمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَكَبِّرِي اللهَ مِائَةَ تَكْبِيرَةٍ فَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ مِائَةَ بَدَنَةٍ مُتَقَبَّلَةٍ وَهَلِّلِي اللهَ مِائَةَ تَهْلِيلَةٍ فَإِنَّهَا تَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُرْفَعُ لِأَحَدٍ عَمِلٌ أَفْضَلُ مِنْهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِمِثْلِ مَا أَتَيْتِ»  

[Machine] Ali, the Messenger of Allah, entered on the day of the conquest (of Mecca). He then performed ablution and prayed while he was veiled in a single garment. He prayed eight units of prayer. I (the narrator) said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have rewarded Hamway (a slave) and my mother's son claims that he will kill him, meaning Ali." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "O Umm Hani, we have already rewarded those whom you have rewarded."  

دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَاغْتَسَلَ وَصَلَّى وَهُوَ مُقَنَّعٌ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ وَإِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّي زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَقْتُلُهُ تَعْنِي عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ إِنَّا قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ»  

[Machine] She came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have rewarded my in-laws and Ibn Ummi claims that Ali killed him." The Prophet then said, "O mother of Hanin, we have already rewarded those whom you have rewarded." Then he poured water for her, covered her, she performed ablution, put on a garment with its ends over her shoulders, and then prayed four units of Dhuhr prayer.  

أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ وَزَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي تَعْنِي عَلِيًّا أَنَّهُ قَاتِلَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ» ثُمَّ سَكَبَ لَهُ مَاءً ثُمَّ سَتَرَ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ خَالَفَ ثَوْبًا عَلَيْهِ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ  

[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have divorced my wife and the son of my mother claims that he killed her referring to Ali. Muhammad said, 'We have divorced whoever you divorced, O Umm Hanea.' And Muhammad said, 'I have seen Abu Murrah.'"  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ فَزَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلَهُ تَعْنِي عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ «وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا مُرَّةَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ stayed at her house during the year of the Conquest. She said, "I entered upon him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have rewarded two men. Ali ibn Abi Talib claims that he killed Hamawayyi and Mutlif claims that he made his servant free.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'We have rewarded those whom you have rewarded.' Then he prayed eight raka'at of Duha prayer in a single garment, with a part of it covering one shoulder and the other part covering the other shoulder."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَزَلَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي دَارِهَا قَالَتْ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ زَعَمَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ حَمَوَيَّ ومُخْفِرٌ جِوَارِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ» ثُمَّ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُخَالِفًا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ  

[Machine] "And he said, 'Do you hire the polytheists?' So I said, 'By Allah, I will not kill them until they attack me first.' Then he left, and I said, 'Close the door behind him.' So I went to the Prophet ﷺ in the lower part of the mountain, but I did not find him. Instead, I found Fatimah, who was even more severe in her disappointment than her husband. She said, 'Why do you hire the polytheists?' Until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appeared wearing a single garment and said, 'Welcome, sister of Umm Hani.' So I said, 'What did I receive from the son of my mother? I hired two men from the polytheists to kill them, but they escaped from me.' He said, 'He had no authority to do that. We have only rewarded those whom you rewarded and granted security to those whom you granted security.'"  

وَقَالَ أَتُجِيرِينَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ؟ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ لَا تَقْتُلُهُما حَتَّى تَبْدَأَنِي قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَقُلْتُ أَغْلِقُوا الْبَابَ دُونَهُ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِأَسْفَلِ الثَّنِيَّةِ فَلَمْ أَجِدُهُ وَوَجَدْتُ فَاطِمَةَ فَكَانَتْ أَشَدَّ عَلِيَّ مِنْ زَوْجِهَا وَقَالَتْ لِمَ تُجِيرِينَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ؟ إِلَى أَنْ طَلَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ فَقَالَ «مَرْحَبًا بِفَاخِتَةَ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ» فَقُلْتُ مَاذَا لَقِيتُ مِنَ ابْنِ أُمِّي أَجَرْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ حَمَوَيْنِ لِي مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَتَفَلَّتَ عَلَيْهِمَا لِيَقْتُلَهُما فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ وَأَمَّنَّا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ»  

[Machine] "That I should kill them both, so I went to the Prophet, ﷺ , and the Prophet, ﷺ , said, 'We have rewarded those we have rewarded and granted security to those we have granted security.' Then he commanded Fatimah to pour water for him to perform ablution, then he covered himself and performed ghusl (ritual bathing). Then he stood up and performed eight units of Dhuha prayer, wearing a single garment that was wrapped between his two shoulders, which I had never seen him pray before or after."  

أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُمَا فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ وَأَمَّنَّا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ» ثُمَّ أَمَرَ فَاطِمَةَ فَسَكَبَتْ لَهُ غُسْلًا ثُمَّ سَتَرَ فَاغْتَسَلَ وَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُخَالِفًا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ لَمْ أَرَهُ صَلَّى قَبْلُ وَلَا بَعْدُ  

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of the conquest, but I did not find him. So, I waited for him until he entered. I said, "Ali ibn Abi Talib entered before me, and he wanted to kill my son Hubairah." I said, "I have given them protection." He said, "What right do you have to give protection to the polytheists?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We have given protection to whomever you have given protection." Then he said, "O Fatimah, bring me water for ablution." Then he performed eight units of prayer in one garment, alternating between the two ends.  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَلَمْ أَجِدُهُ فَانْتَظَرْتُهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ فَقُلْتُ دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ ابْنُ أُمِّي تَعْنِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَ حَمَوَيَّ ابْنِيْ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُما فَقَالَ مَا ذَلِكَ لَكِ تُجِيرِينَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا فَاطِمَةُ اسْكُبِي لِي مَاءً فَاغْتَسَلَ» ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her on the day of the victory, performed ghusl (ritual washing), and prayed eight rak'ahs of duha (forenoon) prayer in one garment, which he wore improperly. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have hired my son Hubayrah's wife, and my mother's son claims that he killed them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We have awarded alimony to the mother of Hane'."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ ابْنِيْ هُبَيْرَةَ وَإِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّي زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلُهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَارَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, who narrated from Bakr ibn Sahl, who narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf, who said that Malik narrated from Abu al-Nadr, the freed slave of Umar ibn Ubaydullah, that Abu Murrah, the slave of Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib, informed him that he heard Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib, say: "I went to the Prophet ﷺ during the year of the Conquest, and I found him performing ablution while Fatimah was covering him with a garment. I greeted him, and he asked, 'Who is this?' I replied, 'I am Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib.' He said, 'Welcome, Umm Hani'.' After he finished his ablution, he stood and prayed eight units of prayer while wrapped in a single garment. When he finished, I said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, my brother claims that he has slain a man whom I have hired, Fulan ibn Hubayrah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have hired the person you have hired, O Umm Hani'.' Umm Hani' said, 'That happened in the morning.'"  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ «مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ» فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانُ ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى  

[Machine] I heard her say, "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Ali bin Abi Talib narrated that the Qa'nabiyy narrated from Malik that Bakr bin Sahl narrated from Abdullah bin Yusuf that I, Malik, narrated from Ali bin Al-Mubarak As-Sana'ani, who narrated from Ismail bin Abi Uways, who narrated from Malik, who narrated from Musa bin Maysarah, who narrated from Abu Murrah, the freed slave of 'Aqil, who said: "I went to the Messenger of Allah on the day of the conquest, and I found him performing ablution while Fatimah, his daughter, was covering him with a garment. So I greeted him, and this was during the forenoon prayer. The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Who is this?' I said, 'Um Hani bint Abi Talib.' He said, 'Welcome, Um Hani.' When he finished performing ablution, he offered eight units of prayer while wearing a single garment, and then he left. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my mother's son claims that Fulan ibn Hubayrah has killed him, and I have given him refuge.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'We have granted asylum to those to whom Um Hani grants asylum.' This is how Ad-Dabari narrated from Abdur-Razzaq, from Malik, from Maymun bin Maysarah, and he misunderstood it. The correct narration is what Al-Qa'nabiyy and others narrated from Malik, from Musa bin Maysarah."  

سَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَنَا مَالِكٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ ثنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ وَذَلِكَ فِي الضُّحَى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» قُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ «مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ» فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ فُلَانُ ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ رَجُلًا قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَارَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ» هَكَذَا قَالَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ وَهَمَ فِيهِ وَالصَّوَابُ مَا رَوَاهُ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ  

[Machine] It was narrated that Umm Haneeth bint Abi Talib informed Ali that on the day of victory, two men from the Banu Makhzoom tribe sought refuge with her. When Ali entered, he said he wanted to kill them. When I heard him say that, I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was at the higher part of Makkah. When he saw me, he welcomed me and said, "What brings you, Umm Haneeth?" I said, "O Prophet of Allah, I had given asylum to two men who are my cousins, and Ali wants to kill them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We will honor those whom you have honored." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to perform his ablution, and Fatimah covered him. Then he took his garment and wrapped himself in it and prayed eight units of the Duha prayer.  

أَنَّ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفَتْحِ فَرَّ إِلَيْهَا رَجُلَانِ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ فَأَجَارَتْهُما دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُما فَلَمَّا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ فَلَمَّا رَآنِي رَحَّبَ بِي فَقَالَ «مَا جَاءَ بِكِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ كُنْتُ قَدْ أَمَّنْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَخْتانِي وَأَرَادَ عَلِيٌّ قَتَلَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ» ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى غُسْلِهِ فَسَتَرَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَاطِمَةُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ فَالْتَحَفَ بِهِ وَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى  

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ conquered Mecca, two men from the Ahma'i tribe of Bani Makhzum sought refuge with me. I hid them in my house. Then my brother Ali came and said to me, "Let me kill them." I closed the door on them and then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said, "We have granted security to those whom you have granted security, and we have protected those whom you have protected."  

لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَكَّةَ فَرَّ إِلَيَّ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَحْمَائِي مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ فَخَبَّأْتُهُما فِي بَيْتِي فَدَخَلَ عَلِيَّ أَخِي فَقَالَ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُما فَأَغْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا الْبَابَ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ وَأَمَّنَّا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ»  

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Makkah, two men from Ahmaa'i of Bani Makhzum came to me. They were staying under Hubaira ibn Abi Wahb. She said, "Ali ibn Abi Talib entered and said to me, 'I will kill them.' So I closed my door on them. Then I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the highest part of Makkah and found him taking a ritual bath in a vessel with traces of dough. his daughter Fatimah covered him with a garment. When he finished bathing, he took his clothing and wrapped himself in it. Then he performed eight units of prayer for Duha (forenoon), and then he came to me and said, 'Welcome, O mother of Hani! What brings you?' I informed him about the two men and Ali. He said, 'We have rewarded those you have rewarded.'"  

لَمَّا نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ جَاءَ إِلَيَّ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَحْمَائِي مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ هُبَيْرَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَهْبٍ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُما فَأَغْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا بَابِي ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ فِي جَفْنَةٍ فِيهَا أَثَرُ الْعَجِينِ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَلَمَّا اغْتَسَلَ أَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ فَتَوَشَّحَ بِهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي الضُّحَى ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلَيَّ قَالَ «مَرْحَبًا وَأَهْلًا يَا أُمَّ هانِي مَا جَاءَ بِكِ؟» فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ خَبَرَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ وَخَبَرَ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ»  

[Machine] She came with two men from the tribe of Makhzum on the day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Mecca. Ali entered upon her and said, "Who are these, O Umm Hani?" I will kill them." She said, "So I closed the door on them and then went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I found him performing ablution while his daughter Fatimah covered him with a cloth. He performed ablution, took the cloth, wrapped himself in it, and then prayed eight units of Duha (forenoon) prayer. Then he asked, 'What is wrong, O Umm Hani?' I said, 'I have taken in two men from my tribe and Ali wants to kill them.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have granted amnesty to those you have granted and rewarded those you have rewarded.'"  

أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِرَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ يَوْمَ فَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ؟ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُما قَالَتْ فَأَغْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَابْنَتُهُ فَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الثَّوْبَ فَالْتَحَفَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ؟» قُلْتُ إِنِّي أَجَرْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَحْمَائِي فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَمَّنَا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ وَأَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ»  

[Machine] I heard Umm Haneh, the daughter of Ali's father and mother and Ali's sister, say, "Ali entered on the day of the conquest, so he performed ghusl (ritual washing), then he prayed eight units (rak'ahs)."  

سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَهِيَ أُخْتُ عَلِيٍّ لِأَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ تَقُولُ «دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her on the day of the conquest, and prayed eight units of Duha prayer in one garment."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ»  

[Machine] "That on the day of Fath (Conquest), the Prophet ﷺ covered himself, performed ghusl (ritual purification), and prayed eight rak'ahs (units of prayer) in the forenoon, not knowing whether the standing (qiyaam) was longer or the bowing (rukooh) or the prostration (sujood)."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ سَتَرَ عَلَيْهِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فِي الضُّحَى وَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَا يَدْرِي قِيَامُهَا أَطْوَلُ أَمْ رُكُوعُهَا أَمْ سُجُودُهَا»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed tasbih during a journey, and I did not find anyone to inform me until Umm Hani bint Abi Talib informed me that he stood up on the day of the conquest and ordered a curtain to be placed, so he covered himself and performed ghusl, then he performed tasbih followed by eight rak'ahs.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَبَّحَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمْ أَجِدُ أَحَدًا يُخْبِرُنِي حَتَّى أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ قَامَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَأَمَرَ بِسِتْرٍ فَسُتِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَأَغْتَسِلَ ثُمَّ سَبَّحَ ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Dhuha prayer until I heard Umm Hani' saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came after the sun had risen on the day of the conquest (of Mecca) and ordered for a cloth to be spread, then he performed ghusl (ablution) and stood up and prayed eight units (rakats). I do not know if his standing, bowing, or prostrating in them was longer, all of that was close (in length). I did not see him performing any prayer before or after it."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ تَقُولُ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى بَعْدَمَا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَأَمَرَ بِثَوْبٍ فَسُتِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَا أَدْرِي قِيَامُهُ فِيهَا أَطْوَلُ أَوْ رُكُوعُهُ أَوْ سُجُودُهُ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ مُتَقَارِبٌ فَلَمْ أَرَهُ سَبَّحَهَا قَبْلُ وَلَا بَعْدُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Duha prayer. I did not find anyone to inform me except Umm Hani' bint Abi Talib, who told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came after the sun had risen on the day of the conquest (of Makkah). He commanded for a garment to be brought, and he covered himself with it. Then, he performed ghusl (ritual purification) and stood up to pray. He performed eight raka'ahs (units) of prayer, and I do not know if his standing, bowing, or prostration was longer. All of that was done close together. I did not see him performing it before or after that.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَبَّحَ سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى فَلَمْ أَجِدُ أَحَدًا حَدَّثَنِي غَيْرُ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَتْنِي «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى بَعْدَمَا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَأَمَرَ بِثَوْبٍ فَسُتِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَا أَدْرِي قِيَامُهُ أَطْوَلُ أَمْ رُكُوعِهِ أَمْ سُجُودِهِ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ مُتَقَارِبٌ فَلَمْ أَرَهُ سَبَّحَهَا قَبْلُ وَلَا بَعْدُ»  

[Machine] Regarding the Dhuha prayer, did the Prophet ﷺ pray it? I have not seen anyone claiming to have seen him do so except Umm Hani, as she claimed, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Fatimah while she was with her on the day of Jummah, the day of the conquest of Makkah. He washed his face with water and then prayed eight rak'at that we had not seen him pray before or after."  

عَنْ صَلَاةِ الضُّحَى هَلْ صَلَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ فَإِنَّهَا زَعَمَتْ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ وَهِيَ عِنْدَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَأَفَاضَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ نَرَهُ صَلَّاهَا قَبْلُ وَلَا بَعْدُ»  

[Machine] I asked the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about the Dhuha prayer, but I couldn't find anyone who could tell me about it until I came to Umm Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib. So I asked her, and she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to the house of Fatimah in Makkah on a Friday and asked for a room filled with water. He poured it over himself and Fatimah covered him. Then he performed eight units of prayer without praying before or after them."  

أَدْرَكْتُ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلْتُهُمْ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الضُّحَى فَلَمْ أَجِدْ أَحَدًا يُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْهَا حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ «أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْتَ فَاطِمَةَ بِمَكَّةَ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ فَدَعَا بِغَرْفَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّهَا ثُمَّ اغْتَسَلَ وَسَتَرَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed eight units of the Dhuha prayer in the highest part of Mecca."  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى الضُّحَى بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ»  

[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca, Fatimah and I entered upon him and Fatimah covered him. Then Fatimah washed (her hands) and prayed eight Rak'ahs of Duha."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حِينَ افْتَتَحَ مَكَّةَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَنَا وَفَاطِمَةُ فَسَتَرَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ»  

[Machine] "On the day of the conquest, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered my house and ordered for water to be poured into a bowl. He then ordered for a garment to be brought and covered himself. After that, he performed ablution, then sprinkled water around the house. He then performed eight units of prayer, in which he stood, bowed, prostrated, and sat, all equally close to each other."  

«دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ بَيْتِي فَأَمَرَ بِمَاءٍ فَصَبَّ فِي قَصْعَةٍ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِثَوْبٍ فَسُتِرَ ثُمَّ اغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ رَشَّ نَاحِيَةَ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ قِيامُهُنَّ وَرُكُوعُهُنَّ وَسُجُودُهُنَّ وجُلُوسُهُنَّ سَوَاءٌ قَرِيبٌ بَعْضُهُ مِنْ بَعْضٍ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Duha prayer. So I went out and met Ibn Abbas, and I said, 'Go to Umm Hani and enter upon her and say, 'Tell your cousin about the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, the Duha prayer.' So I narrated it to him, and he said, 'We interpret this verse as the prayer of the morning brightness, and it is the Duha prayer.'"  

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى» فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَقِيتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ انْطَلِقْ إِلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا فَقُلْتُ «حَدِّثِي ابْنَ عَمِّكِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الضُّحَى» فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَقَالَ «نُؤَوِّلُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ صَلَاةُ الْإِشْرَاقِ وَهِيَ صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى»  

[Machine] When the day of the conquest of Makkah came, Fatimah came and sat on the left of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and Umm Hani sat on his right. Then a vessel containing a drink was brought, and he drank from it. Then Umm Hani drank from it. Then she said, "O Messenger of Allah, I had already broken my fast and was fasting." He said, "Were you doing anything (voluntary fast)?" She said, "No." He said, "Then it does not harm you if it was voluntary."  

لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ فَجَلَسَتْ عَنْ يَسَارِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأُمُّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ شَرَابٌ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَقَدْ أَفْطَرْتُ وَكُنْتُ صَائِمَةً فَقَالَ «هَلْ كُنْتِ تَقْضِينَ شَيْئًا؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ إِنْ كَانَ تَطَوُّعًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ descended upon the highest place in Mecca on the day of victory, and I approached him. Abu Dhar came with a container containing water, and I said, "I see traces of dough in it." Abu Dhar covered it and performed ablution, then the Prophet ﷺ covered Abu Dhar and performed ablution. After that, he prayed eight units of prayer, and this was during the forenoon.  

نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَجَاءَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ بِجَفْنَةٍ فِيهَا مَاءٌ قَالَتْ إِنِّي لَأَرَى فِيهَا أَثَرَ الْعَجِينِ فَسَتَرَهُ أَبُو ذَرٍّ وَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ «سَتَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَبَا ذَرٍّ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ وَذَلِكَ فِي الضُّحَى»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take the sheep, for indeed, there is blessing in them."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «اتَّخِذُوا الْغَنَمَ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا بَرَكَةً»
