nasai-kubra:6252ʿAmr b. ʿAlī > Yazīd > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever sets free his share of a slave, and he has sufficient wealth to set him free completely by paying the price of the slave, then he should set him free with his own wealth."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4699)  

الكبرى للنسائي:٦٢٥٢أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي مَمْلُوكٍ وَكَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَهُ بِقِيمَةِ الْعَدْلِ فَهُوَ عَتِيقٌ مِنْ مَالِهِ»

He who emancipates his share in the slave, it is his responsibility to secure full freedom for him provided he (the slave) has enough money to pay the (remaining) price, but it he has not so much money he would be emancipated to the extent that the first man emancipated.

muslim:1501hʿAbd b. Ḥumayd > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Sālim > Ibn ʿUmar

He who gives up his share in a slave, the remaining (share) will be paid out of his riches if his riches are enough to meet the price of the slave.

abudawud:3943Ibrāhīm b. Mūsá al-Rāzī > ʿĪsá b. Yūnus > ʿUbaydullāh > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

If anyone emancipates his share in a slave, he should emancipate him completely if he has enough money to pay the full price ; but if he has none, he will be emancipated to the extent of his share.  

أبو داود:٣٩٤٣حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى الرَّازِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا مِنْ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهُ فَعَلَيْهِ عِتْقُهُ كُلُّهُ إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَهُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ عَتَقَ نَصِيبُهُ  

abudawud:3946al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Sālim > Ibn ʿUmar

If a man emancipates his share in a slave, the rest will be emancipated by his money if he has enough money to pay the full price for him.  

أبو داود:٣٩٤٦حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي عَبْدٍ عَتَقَ مِنْهُ مَا بَقِيَ فِي مَالِهِ إِذَا كَانَ لَهُ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَ الْعَبْدِ  

tirmidhi:1347Bidhalik al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī al-Khalāal al-Ḥulwānī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Sālim from his father

"Whoever frees a portion of a slave he owns, then he can afford the remainder of the price, then he should free him with his wealth."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ṣaḥīḥ.
الترمذي:١٣٤٧حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلاَّلُ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا لَهُ فِي عَبْدٍ فَكَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَهُ فَهُوَ عَتِيقٌ مِنْ مَالِهِ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ

[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: Whoever frees a slave that belongs to him must free him completely, if he has the means to pay his value. But if he does not have the means, then he should free him according to what he can free."
