Yaʾjūj Maʾjūj will dry up Lake Tiberias by drinking its water

Rasūlullāh ﷺ mentioned: "... when Allah ﷻ revealed to ʿĪsá b. Maryam: 'I have already released servants from My servants (Yaʾjūj Maʾjūj) who you will not be able to fight, so take My salves for refuge to ˹mount˺ Ṭūr'. Then Allah ﷻ will send forth Yaʾjūj Maʾjūj, and they, as Allah ﷻ said: '...from every slope they will descend.' (Anbiyāʾ 21:96). Then ʿĪsá and his companions will implore Allah ﷻ, then He will send insects toward their necks, and they will turn into predator-prey (farsā) ˹and die˺ like the death of one person. ThenʿĪsá and his companions will get down ˹from mount Ṭur˺ and they will not find a place to stay on land except that it has been filled with a foul stench of their ˹rotting corpses˺. Then ʿĪsá and his companions will implore Allah ﷻ ˹again˺, then He will send forth birds with necks like thereof Bactrian camels (vultures?), and they will carry their ˹corpses˺ and throw them where Allah ﷻ wills." Ibn Jābir said, then Yazīd b. ʿAṭāʾ al-Saksakī narrated to me, from Kaʿb or other than him who said: "then they threw them in the ditch (abyss)". Ibn Jābir said: then I said, O Abū Zayd, and where is the ditch? He said: "Eastwardly..."

[Machine] People have differed regarding this matter. Some say it refers to the people of the Prophet's household, while others say it refers to those who obeyed him and followed his teachings. Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, believed that it means those who obeyed the Prophet. The scholar Abdul Razzaq said that it is more likely that it means the people of the Prophet's household. He supported his opinion by citing the verse in Surah Hud where Allah commanded Prophet Nuh to take his family on the ark, saying, "And he said, 'Embark therein; in the name of Allah is its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.' And it sailed with them through waves like mountains, and Noah called to his son who was apart [from them], 'O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers.' [But] he said, 'I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the flood.' Noah said, 'There is no protector today from the decree of Allah, except for whom He gives mercy.' And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned" (Surah Hud, 40-46). The scholar Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, responded to this interpretation by saying that the verse [But] he said, 'I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the flood' (Surah Hud, 46) shows that Noah's son was not among his family members who were commanded to board the ark. Instead, he was a sinner and was excluded from being considered part of Noah's family. This interpretation is supported by the verse, "And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers" (Surah Hud, 117). This verse indicates that Allah commanded Prophet Noah to take on the ark only those family members who had not yet been condemned to disbelief. Then Allah clarified the matter further by saying, "Indeed, he was a [committed] disobedient servant" (Surah Hud, 46).

"Gog and Magog people will be set free and they will emerge as Allah says: "swoop(ing) down from every mound."[21:96] They will spread throughout the earth, and the Muslims will flee from them until the remainder of the Muslims are in their cities and fortresses, taking their flocks with them. They will pass by a river and drink from it, until they leave nothing behind, and the last of them will follow in their footsteps and one of them will say: 'There was once water in this place.' They will prevail over the earth, then their leader will say: 'These are the people of the earth, and we have finished them off. Now let us fight the people of heaven!' Then one of them will throw his spear towards the sky, and it will come back down smeared with blood. And they will say: 'We have killed the people of heaven.' While they are like that, Allah will send a worm like the worm that is found in the noses of sheep, which will penetrate their necks and they will die like locusts, one on top of another. In the morning the Muslims will not hear any sound from them, and they will say: 'Who will sell his soul for the sake of Allah and see what they are doing?' A man will go down, having prepared himself to be killed by them, and he will find them dead, so he will call out to them: 'Be of good cheer, for your enemy is dead!' Then the people will come out and let their flocks loose, but they will not have anything to graze on except their flesh, and they will become very fat as if they were grazing on the best vegetation they ever found.'"

[Machine] Zaid ibn Thabit, I was sitting next to the Prophet ﷺ one day when revelation came to him. He was covered in tranquility and his thigh was pressing against mine when the tranquility overcame him. Zaid said, "By Allah, I never experienced anything heavier than the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Then it was hidden from him and he said, "Write, O Zaid." So I took a shoulder and he said, "Write {Those who remained behind from the believers} [Quran 4:95] and {and the mujahideen} [Quran 4:95], the entire verse until {a great reward} [Quran 4:95]." So I wrote that on a shoulder. Then Ibn Umm Maktum, a blind man, stood up when he heard it. He was a man who loved the virtues of the mujahideen. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who are unable to engage in jihad, such as the blind and others like them?" Zaid said, "By Allah, his words did not end before the tranquility overcame the Prophet ﷺ and his thigh pressed against mine again. I found it just as heavy as the first time. Then it was hidden from him and he said, ‘Read.’ So I recited to him {Those who remained behind from the believers} [Quran 4:95] and {and the mujahideen} [Quran 4:95]. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, {except those who are disabled} [Quran 4:95]. I added that by Allah, it was as if I could see its effect at the crack in the shoulder."

"We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: "O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing..." up to His saying: but Allah's torment is severe (21:1 & 2)." When his Companions heard that, they hastened to catch up with him, since they knew that he had something to say. He ﷺ said: 'Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam, send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the state of his Companions, he said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis.'" He said: "So some of the people's grief went away, and he ﷺ said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3169)

By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis.'" They will pass by a river and drink from it, until they leave nothing behind, and the last of them will follow in their footsteps and one of them will say: 'There was once water in this place.' They will prevail over the earth, then their leader will say: 'These are the people of the earth, and we have finished them off. In the morning the Muslims will not hear any sound from them, and they will say: 'Who will sell his soul for the sake of Allah and see what they are doing?' A man will go down, having prepared himself to be killed by them, and he will find them dead, so he will call out to them: 'Be of good cheer, for your enemy is dead!' Then the people will come out and let their flocks loose, but they will not have anything to graze on except their flesh, and they will become very fat as if they were grazing on the best vegetation they ever found.'" tirmidhi:3169Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Hishām b. Abū ʿAbdullāh > Qatādah > al-Ḥasan > ʿImrān b. Ḥuṣayn

Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'"

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

[Machine] I said, "Except that I passed by Uthman in the mosque and greeted him, and he filled his eyes with tears from me, but he did not return my greeting. Omar sent for Uthman and called him, saying, "What prevented you from returning the greeting to your brother?" Uthman said, "I didn't do anything." Saad said, "I said, 'Yes, he did.' Uthman said, 'Yes, and I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him. You passed by me unexpectedly while I was just mentioning a word that I had heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . No, by Allah, I have not mentioned it except that my sight is overcast and my heart is in a state of confusion." Saad said, "I will inform you about it. The Messenger of Allah mentioned to us the first supplication, then an Arab came and occupied him until the Messenger of Allah got up, so I followed him. When I feared that he would get to his house before me, I stamped my foot on the ground, and the Messenger of Allah turned to me and said, 'Who is this, Abu Ishaq?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Come here.' I said, 'No, by Allah, except that you mentioned to us the first supplication, and then this Arab came and occupied you.' He said, 'Yes, it is the supplication of Dhul-Nun (Yunus), when he was in the belly of the fish, 'There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.' [Quran 21:87]. No Muslim ever supplicates to his Lord with it in any matter except that Allah answers him."

There would be no harm if you do not (proceed) for Hajj this year, for we fear that there would be fight among people which would cause obstruction between you and the House, whereupon he said: If there would be obstruction between me and that (Ka'ba), I would do as Messenger of Allah ﷺ did. I was with him (the Holy Prophet) when the infidels of Quraish caused obstructions between him (the Holy Prophet) and the House. I call you as my witness (to the fact) that I have made 'Umra essential for me. He proceeded until he came to Dhu'l-Hulaifa and pronounced Talbiya for Umra, and said: If the way Is clear forme, I would then complete my 'Umra but If there is some obstruction between me and that (the Ka'ba). I would then do what Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done (at the occasion of Hudaibiya), and I was with him (the Holy Prophet). and then recited:" Verily in the Messenger of Allah, there is a model pattern for you" (xxxiii. 21). He then moved on until he came to the rear side of al-Baida' and said: There is one command for both of them automatically) (Hajj and Umra). If I am detained (in the performance) of 'Umra, I am ( automatically detained (in the performance) of Hajj (too). I call you as witness that Hajj along with 'Umra I had made essential for me. (I am performing Hajj and 'Umra as Qiran.) He then bought sacrificial animals at Qudaid and then circumambulated the House and ran between al-Safa' and al-Marwa once (covering both Hajj and Umra), and did not put off Ihram until on the Day of Sacrifice in the month of Dhu'l-Hijja.

[Machine] Abu Bakr As-Siddiq delivered a speech, praising Allah and expressing gratitude towards him for the qualities he possesses. He advised us to fear Allah and to praise him for his qualities. He also urged us to balance desire with fear, as Allah praised Prophet Zakariya and his family, saying: "Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear. And they were, to Us, humbly submissive" (Quran 21:90).

He then reminded us, the servants of Allah, that Allah has entrusted us with our own selves and has taken covenants from us. Allah has given us the opportunity to exchange the ephemeral for the eternal, by acquiring His book. The light of His book cannot be extinguished, and its wonders will never come to an end. Therefore, he advised us to seek guidance and enlightenment from the book of Allah, especially during darkness.

He stressed that we have been created to worship Allah, and that Allah has entrusted us as noble and honorable scribes who know what we do. He reminded us that we will eventually depart from this world, as our knowledge of the appointed time has been concealed from us. If we have the ability to fulfill our obligations while in the service of Allah, we should strive to do so, but only with the help of Allah. He encouraged us to hasten in performing our duties before the appointed time expires, in order to avoid returning to a state of evil deeds. He warned against emulating those who extend their appointed times to others, but forget themselves, and advised us not to follow in their footsteps.

He concluded by emphasizing the need to seek salvation and to seek safety. He reminded us that a seeker will always remain diligent and quick to respond.

quran:6:65

Say, "He is the ˹one˺ Able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet or to confuse you ˹so you become˺ sects and make you taste the violence of one another." Look how We diversify the signs that they might understand.

Say: ‘He has the power to send forth upon you a chastisement from above you, from the heaven, such as stones ˹cf. Q. 8:32˺ or a Cry ˹cf. Q. 11:67˺, or from beneath your feet, such as the causing of the earth to cave in ˹cf. Q. 29:40˺, or to confound you, to confuse you, in parties, sects with differing whims, and to make you taste the violence of one another’, through fighting. When this ˹verse˺ was revealed, the Prophet (s) said, ‘This ˹chastisement etc.˺ is easier and lighter’; but when the last statement was revealed, he said, ‘I seek refuge with Your Countenance!’, as reported by al-Bukhārī. Muslim reports the ˹following˺ hadīth: ‘I requested from my Lord not to make my community violent towards each other, but He denied me this ˹request˺’. In another hadīth, when it was revealed, he ˹is reported to have˺ said, ‘As for this, it will surely come to pass, even though its proper meaning has not yet come’. See how We dispense, ˹how˺ We clarify for them, the signs, the proofs of Our power, that perhaps they might understand, that they might realise that what they follow is falsehood.
