that the Messenger of was offered the daughter of Hamzah bin 'Abdul-Muttalib in marriage, and he said: “She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding, and breastfeeding makes unlawful (for marriage) the same things that blood ties make unlawful.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1938)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُرِيدَ عَلَى بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا بِنْتُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ»
The Prophet ﷺ said about Hamza's daughter, "I am not legally permitted to marry her, as foster relations are treated like blood relations (in marital affairs). She is the daughter of my foster brother."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ لاَ تَحِلُّ لِي يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ هِيَ بِنْتُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
"What becomes unlawful through breastfeeding is that which becomes unlawful through birth."
لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلاَدَةِ
It was proposed that he (the Holy Prophet) be married to the daughter of Hamza, whereupon he said: She is not lawful for me for she is the daughter of my foster-brother, and that is unlawful by reason of fosterage what is unlawful by reason of genealogy.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُرِيدَ عَلَى ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا لاَ تَحِلُّ لِي إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَيَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّحِمِ
“Indeed Allah has made unlawful through suckling whatever He made unlawful through birth.”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ الْوِلاَدَةِ
"What becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is that which becomes unlawful through lineage."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ
"I heard 'Aishah say: The Messenger of Allah said: 'What becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is that which becomes unlawful through birth.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلاَدَةِ
"She is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding, and what becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is the same as that which becomes unlawful through lineage."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ»
‘Ali ؓ said: I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, shall I not tell you about the most beautiful girl of Quraish? He said: “who is she?ʿ I said: The daughter of Hamzah. He said: ʿDonʿt you know that she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding? Allah has forbidden (for marriage) through breastfeeding that which He has forbidden through blood ties.”
عَلِيٌّ قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَجْمَلِ فَتَاةٍ فِي قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ وَمَنْ هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهَا ابْنَةُأَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was told about the daughter of Hamzah, so he said, "She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding."
ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
"She is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding, and what becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is the same as that which becomes unlawful through lineage." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3306)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُرِيدَ عَلَى ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَإِنَّهُ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ
[AI] For the Prophet ﷺ in the daughter of Hamza and he noticed her beauty, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding." Then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Did you not know that Allah, the Almighty, has made unlawful through breastfeeding what He made unlawful through regular lineage?"
لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ وَذَكَرَ مِنْ جَمَالِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ ﷻ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Sulayman ibn Yasar and from Urwa ibn az-Zubayr from A'isha umm al- muminin, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, " What is haram by birth is haram by suckling."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلاَدَةِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ»
[AI] I said to the Prophet ﷺ , "Shall I not guide you to the best girl of the Quraysh?" He said, "Who is she?" I said, "She is the daughter of my brother from the nursing relationship."
قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَحْسَنِ فَتَاةِ قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ هِيَ؟» قَالَ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ»
[AI] Ali: O Messenger of Allah, do you have the most beautiful girl from your cousin's daughters in the Quraysh?
Prophet Muhammad: Don't you know that Hamza, my brother, is from the same foster mother?
عَلِيٌّ ؓ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ لَكَ فِي بِنْتِ عَمِّكِ أَجْمَلِ فَتَاةٍ فِي قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ «أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ؟»
It was proposed that he (the Holy Prophet) be married to the daughter of Hamza, whereupon he said: She is not lawful for me for she is the daughter of my foster-brother, and that is unlawful by reason of fosterage what is unlawful by reason of genealogy. (Using translation from Muslim 1447a)

[AI] The Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , mentioned that the daughter of Hamza was mentioned to him and her beauty was also mentioned. He said, "Do you not know that she is my foster brother's daughter? Do you not know that Allah has forbidden foster relationships just as he has forbidden blood relationships?"
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ ذُكِرَتْ لَهُ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ وَذُكِرَ مِنْ جَمَالِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ؟ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مِثْلَ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ؟»
[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What is forbidden by lineage is also forbidden by breastfeeding.'"

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَجْمَلِ فَتَاةٍ فِي قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ هِيَ؟» قُلْتُ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ «أَوَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ؟ وَأَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ؟»
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ had an interest in the daughter of Hamza and admired her beauty. He said, "She is the daughter of my brother from breastfeeding." Then, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Don't you know that Allah has made what is forbidden by lineage also forbidden by breastfeeding?" Sa'id did not hear it from 'Ali ibn Zaid.
لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ وَذَكَرَ مِنْ جَمَالِهَا فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ؟» لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ سَعِيدٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ
[AI] The Prophet, ﷺ , saw the daughter of Hamzah and admired her beauty. So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Is she not the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding? Did you not know that Allah has made unlawful through breastfeeding what He has made unlawful through lineage?"

ؓ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ

"إِنَّ الله تَعَالى حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرضاعةِ ما حَرَّم من الولَادَة".

"عن على قال: قلت لرسول الله ﷺ : أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَجْمَلِ فَتَاةٍ في قُريْشٍ؟ قَالَ: وَمَنْ هِىَ؟ قُلتُ: ابْنَةُ عَمِّكَ حَمْزَة، فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : أَوَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ أَخِى مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ؟ وَإنَّ الله حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ".
"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ابْنَة حَمْزَة أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَهَا، وَذَكَرَ مِنْ جَمَالِهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ، أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ".
