"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, there is a man asking permission to enter your house.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'I think it is so-and-so the paternal uncle of Hafsah through breast-feeding.' 'Aishah said: If so-and-so (her own paternal uncle through breast-feeding) were alive, would he be allowed to enter upon me?' The Messenger of Allah said: 'What becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is that which becomes unlawful through birth.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3313)

[Machine] Her uncle, the brother of her father Al-Quais, came to seek permission from her after the veiling of women had been commanded. She refused to give him permission until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and sought permission for him. When the Prophet ﷺ came, she mentioned this to him, and she said, "My uncle, the brother of my father, came, and I kept repeating it until I sought your permission." He said, "Isn't he your uncle?" She said, "He breastfed me, but I was not breastfed by a man." He said, "He is your uncle, so let him enter upon you." Aisha used to say that what is forbidden by birth is also forbidden by breastfeeding.
