[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to come to us in Makkah twice a day. One day, he came to us at noon, and I said, "O Abu Bakr, this is the Messenger of Allah." Abu Bakr replied, "By my father and mother, he does not come at this time except for a reason." The Prophet ﷺ then asked him, "Did you feel that Allah has given me permission to leave?" Abu Bakr replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." Abu Bakr then said, "I have prepared two riding camels for this day since a while ago. Take one of them." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Buy it, O Abu Bakr." Abu Bakr said, "By my father and mother, it is for you, if you want." They then prepared a meal for them and tied the camels together. They stayed in the cave in the Thawr mountain. When they reached the cave, Abu Bakr entered it first and did not leave any hole in it without putting his finger in it, fearing that there might be a snake in it. Quraysh people lost track of them and began searching for them. They placed a reward of a hundred camels for capturing the Prophet ﷺ and they started to circle around the mountains of Makkah until they reached the mountain in which they were. Abu Bakr said to a man who could see them from the opening in the cave, "O Messenger of Allah, he has seen us." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, it is the angels that are covering us with their wings." The man sat down and pretended to be close to the cave. The Prophet ﷺ said to Abu Bakr, "If he had seen us, he would not have done this." They stayed there for three nights and ‘Amir ibn Fuhayrah, the servant of Abu Bakr, would come with their sheep to graze with the shepherds during the day and join them at night. ‘Abdullah ibn Abu Bakr would stay in Makkah to gather news and then come to them at nightfall to inform them  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَأْتِينَا بِمَكَّةَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ جَاءَنَا فِي الظَّهِيرَةِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَةُ هَذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي مَا جَاءَ بِهِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا أَمَرٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ شَعَرْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَذِنَ لِي فِي الْخُرُوجِ؟» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَالصَّحَابَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «الصَّحَابَةُ» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ عِنْدِي لَرَاحِلَتَيْنِ قَدْ عَلَفْتُهُمَا مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا انْتِظَارًا لِهَذَا الْيَوْمِ فَخُذْ إِحْدَاهُمَا فَقَالَ «بِثَمَنِهَا يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ» قَالَ بِثَمَنِهَا بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي إِنْ شِئْتَ قَالَتْ فَهَيَّأْنَا لَهُمْ سَفْرَةً ثُمَّ قَطَعَتْ نِطَاقَهَا فَرَبَطَتْهَا بِبَعْضِهِ فَخَرَجَا فَمَكَثَا فِي الْغَارِ فِي جَبَلِ ثَوْرٍ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيَا إِلَيْهِ دَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْغَارَ قَبْلَهُ فَلَمْ يَتْرُكْ فِيهِ جُحْرًا إِلَّا أَدْخَلَ فِيهِ أَصْبُعَهُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ هَامَةً وَخَرَجَتْ قُرَيْشُ حِينَ فَقَدُوهُمَا فِي بِغَائِهِمَا وَجَعَلُوا فِي النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِائَةَ نَاقَةٍ وَخَرَجُوا يَطُوفُونَ فِي جِبَالِ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى انْتَهَوْا إِلَى الْجَبَلِ الَّذِي هُمَا فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ لِرَجُلٍ يَرَاهُ مُوَاجِهَ الْغَارِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهُ لَيَرَانَا فَقَالَ «كَلَّا إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةً تَسْتُرُنَا بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا» فَجَلَسَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ فَبَالَ مُوَاجِهَ الْغَارِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ كَانَ يَرَانَا مَا فَعَلَ هَذَا» فَمَكَثَا ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ يَرُوحُ عَلَيْهِمَا عَامِرُ بْنُ فُهَيْرَةَ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ غَنَمًا لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَيُدْلِجُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِمَا فَيُصْبِحُ مَعَ الرُّعَاةِ فِي مَرَاعِهَا وَيَرُوحُ مَعَهُمْ وَيَتَطَأْطَأُ فِي الْمَشْيِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَظْلَمَ انْصَرَفَ بِغَنَمِهِ إِلَيْهِمَا فَيَظُنُّ الرُّعَاةُ أَنَّهُ مَعَهُمْ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يَظَلُّ بِمَكَّةَ يَبْطُشُ الْأَخْبَارَ ثُمَّ يَأْتِيَهُمَا إِذَا أَظْلَمَ فَيُخْبِرْهُمَا ثُمَّ يُدْلِجُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِمَا فَيُصْبِحُ بِمَكَّةَ كَبَائِتٍ ثُمَّ خَرَجَا مِنَ الْغَارِ فَأَخَذَا عَلَى السَّاحِلِ فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَسِيرُ أَمَامَهُ فَإِذَا خَشِيَ أَنْ يُؤْتَى مِنْ خَلْفِهِ سَارَ خَلْفَهُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ مَسِيرُهُ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَجُلًا مَعْرُوفًا فِي النَّاسِ فَإِذَا لَقِيَهُ لَاقٍ قَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ هَادٍ يَهْدِينِي يُرِيدُ الْهِدَايَةَ فِي الدِّينِ وَيَحْسَبُهُ الْآخَرُ دَلِيلًا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَا بِأَبْيَاتِ قُدَيْدٍ وَكَانَ عَلَى طَرِيقِهِمَا عَلَى السَّاحِلِ جَاءَ إِنْسَانٌ إِلَى مَجْلِسِ بَنِي مُدْلِجٍ فَقَالَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَاكِبَيْنِ نَحْوَ السَّاحِلِ فَإِنِّي أَرَى أَحَدَهُمَا لَصَاحِبُ قُرَيْشٍ الَّذِي يَبْغُونَ فَقَالَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ذَانِكَ رَاكِبَانِ مِمَّنْ بَعَثْنَا فِي طَلَبِهِ يُواسِ الْقَوْمَ ثُمَّ دَعَا جَارِيَتَهُ فَسَارَّهَا فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَخْرُجَ بِفَرَسِهِ وَتَحُطُّ رُمْحَهُ وَلَا تَنُصُبُهُ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ فِي قَرَارِهِ بِمَوْضُوعِ كَذَا وَكَذَا ثُمَّ يَجِيئُهَا فَرَكَبَ فَرَسَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فِي آثَارِهِمَا فَقَالَ سُرَاقَةُ فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُمَا حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ رَكَضْتُ الْفَرَسَ فَوَقَعَتْ بِمِنْخَرِهَا فَأَخْرَجْتُ قِداحًا فِي كِنَانَتِي فَضَرَبْتُ بِهَا أَضُرُّهُ أَمْ لَا أَضُرُّهُ فَخَرَجَ لَا تَضُرُّهُ فَأَبَتْ نَفْسِي حَتَّى اتَّبَعْتُهُ فَأَدْرَكْتُهُ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ الْمَوْضِعِ فَوَقَعَتِ الْفَرَسُ فَاسْتَخْرَجْتُ يَدَهُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى فَضَرَبْتُ بِالْقِدَاحِ أَضُرُّهُ أَمْ لَا أَضُرُّهُ فَخَرَجَ لَا تَضُرُّهُ فَأَبَتْ نَفْسِي حَتَّى إِذَا كُنْتُ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ الْمَوْضِعِ خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُصِيبَنِي مِثْلَ مَا أَصَابَنِي فَنَادَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أَرَى سَيَكُونُ لَكَ شَأْنًا فَقِفْ أُكَلِّمُكَ فَوَقَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبْ لَهُ أَمَانًا فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ لَهُ فَكَتَبَ لَهُ قَالَ سُرَاقَةُ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ جِئْتُ بِالْكِتَابِ فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ ونَادَيْتُ أَنَا سُرَاقَةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَوْمُ وَفَاءٍ» قَالَ سُرَاقَةُ فَمَا شَبَّهْتُ سَاقَهُ فِي غُرَرِهِ إِلَّا الْجُمَّارَ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ شَيْئًا أَسْأَلُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ ذُو نَعَمٍ وإِنَّ الْحِيَاضَ تَمْلَأُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَيَشْرَبُ فَيَفْضُلُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فِي الْحِيَاضِ فَيَرِدُ الْهَمَلُ فَهَلْ لِي فِي ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «نَعَمْ فِي كُلِّ كَبِدٍ حَرَّى أَجْرٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about menstrual blood staining the clothing. He said, "You should moisten it with water, then sprinkle it, and then perform prayer in it."  

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «تَقْرِضُهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَنْضَحُهُ وَتُصَلِّي فِيهِ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from Fatimah bint Al-Mundhir, from Asma' bint Abi Bakr, that she said: a woman asked the Prophet ﷺ, she said: "O Messenger of Allah, what should one of us do if her clothing becomes stained with menstrual blood?" He said: "If one of you gets blood from menstruation on her garment, let her borrow it, then sprinkle it with water, then perform the prayer."  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا أَصَابَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ»  

[Machine] She asked the Prophet ﷺ about menstrual blood that stains the clothing, so he said, "Rub it, then soak it with water, then wash it off."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ»  

[Machine] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about menstrual blood that stains clothing, so he said, "Rub it off, then rinse it with water, and then sprinkle it with water."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a garment that is stained with menstrual blood. He said, "Firstly, scrape off the blood, then soak it in water, and then you may pray in it."  

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ قَالَ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if one of us gets menstrual blood on her clothes, what should she do?" He said, "She should scrape it off and then rinse it with water."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ «تَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ تَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a garment that becomes stained with blood during menstruation. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rub it, then scratch it off, then rinse it, then perform prayer in it."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»  

[Machine] A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ and said, "One of us may be afflicted with menstrual blood on her garment." He said, "Let her narrate it, then rub it, then sprinkle it with water, and then pray in it."  

سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِمَاءٍ فَتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»  

[Machine] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about menstrual bleeding that stains the clothes. He said, "Take it off, then rub it, loan it to someone, and then sacrifice your remaining garment."  

أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَ إِحْدَانَا قَالَ «خُذِيهِ فَحُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ وَانْضَحِي بَقِيَّةَ ثَوْبِكِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about menstrual blood that stains clothing, and he replied, "Scrape it off, then soak it in water, then squeeze it out and wash it, and then perform prayer in it."  

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ وَصَلِّى فِيهِ»  

[Machine] A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ about a situation where menstrual blood gets on her clothing, so he said, "She should scrape it off, wash it with water, and then pray in it."  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضِ فَقَالَ «لِتَحُكَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّ فِيهِ»  

[Machine] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, one of us gets her menses on her garment and sees blood." He said, "If one of you sees that on her garment, she should soak it in water and then sprinkle it and pray in it."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ فِي ثَوْبِهَا وَتَرَى الدَّمَ فَقَالَ «إِذَا رَأَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي ثَوْبِهَا فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ولْتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»  

“We slaughtered a horse and ate its meat during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3190)  

«نَحَرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَسًا فَأَكَلْنَا لَحْمَهُ»  

[Machine] "We had a horse during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so we slaughtered it and ate its meat."  

«كَانَ لَنَا فَرَسٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَحَرْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَا لَحْمَهُ»  

[Machine] We had a horse during the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), so we slaughtered it and ate it.  

«كَانَ لَنَا فَرَسٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَبَحْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ»  

[Machine] "We sacrificed a horse in fulfillment of the Prophet's ﷺ covenant while we were in Medina, and then we ate it."  

«نَحَرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَسًا وَنَحْنُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ»  

[Machine] "We slaughtered a horse according to the covenant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ate it."  

«ذَبَحْنَا فَرَسًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ»  

[Machine] "We slaughtered a horse during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and then consumed it."  

«ذَبَحْنَا فَرَسًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ»  

[Machine] "We ate horse meat during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."  

«أَكَلْنَا لَحْمَ فَرَسٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] We had a horse during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so we slaughtered it and ate it. Chapter.  

«كَانَ لَنَا فَرَسٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَبَحْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ» بَابٌ  

[Machine] A woman from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have married Juwayriyah and she has become ill, causing her hair to fall out. Should we divorce her?" He replied, "May Allah curse the one who severs family ties and the one who is the cause of its severance."  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ جَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أَنْكَحْنا جُوَيْرِيَةً لَنَا وَكَانَتْ مَرِيضَةً فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُ رَأْسِهَا أَفَنَصِلُهَا؟ فَقَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»  

[Machine] About the Prophet (PBUH) that he was asked about union in poetry, so he cursed the connector and the recipient of the union.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الشَّعْرِ «فَلَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad Ad-Darawardi from Hisham bin 'Urwah from Fatimah bint Al-Mundhir from Asma bint Abi Bakr that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, my daughter is newlywed and she has been afflicted with measles, causing her hair to come out in patches. Should I use hair extensions?" He ﷺ said, "May Allah curse the one who gets hair extensions and the one who gives the extensions."  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ ابْنَتِي عَرُوسٌ وَقَدْ أَصَابَهَا حَصْبَةٌ فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُهَا أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ فَقَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»  

[Machine] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my daughter is a bride and she has been afflicted with this sore, causing her hair to fall out. Should I cut her hair short for her?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah curse the one who does hair extensions and the one who has it done."  

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ ابْنَتِي عَرُوسٌ وَقَدْ أَصَابَتْهَا هَذِهِ الْقُرْحَةُ فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُهَا أَفَأَصِلُ لَهَا قَصَّةً؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»  

[Machine] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, my daughter is a newlywed and she has caught the measles, causing her hair to fall out. Should I tie up her hair?" He said, "May Allah curse those who tie up hair extensions and those who have their hair extensions tied."  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنَّ ابْنَتِي عَرُوسٌ وَقَدْ أَخَذَتْهَا الْحَصْبَةُ فَتَسَاقَطَ شَعْرُهَا أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ فَقَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ cursed the one who connects and the one who asks for a connection. Chapter.  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ» بَابٌ  

[Machine] The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I entered upon Aisha in her room while the Prophet ﷺ was leading the people in prayer. I said, "O Aisha, what is the matter with the people?" She said, "Subhan Allah," and pointed with her hand. I said, "Is it a sign?" She said, "Subhan Allah," and nodded her head, indicating yes, and gestured with her head.  

كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ فَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا قُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ قَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا تَحْكِي أَيْ نَعَمْ وَأَوْمَأَ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ بِرَأْسِهِ  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik that Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi narrated from Abdullah bin Abd al-Hakam that Malik bin Anas and Mufaddal bin Fadala narrated from Hisham bin Urwah who narrated from Fatimah bint al-Mundhir who narrated from Asma bint Abu Bakr who said, "I went to Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , when the sun was eclipsed. The people were standing and praying, and she was also standing. I asked, 'What is happening to the people?' She pointed with her hand towards the sky and said, 'Subhan Allah!' I asked, 'Is this a sign?' She nodded and said, 'Yes.' I stood until I became faint, and then I poured water over my head. I praised Allah and His Messenger ﷺ . Then she said, 'There is nothing that I have not seen in my place except that I have seen it in this state, even Paradise and Hell. It was revealed to me that you will be tested in the graves like or similar to the trials of the Dajjal (Antichrist). I do not know which of them it is.' She said, 'A person will come and it will be said to him, 'What do you know about this man?' As for the believer or the convinced one, I do not know which of them it is, he will say, 'Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , came to us with clear signs and guidance and we responded and believed and followed.' He will be told, 'Sleep peacefully; we know that you were a believer.' As for the hypocrite or the doubtful one, I do not know which of them it is, he will say, 'I do not know, I heard people saying something and I said it too.'  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ وَمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ يُصَلُّونَ فَإِذَا هِيَ قَائِمَةٌ فَقُلْتُ مَا لِلنَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَقُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ وَأَشَارَتْ أَيْ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى جَاءَنِي الْغَشْيُ فَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي الْمَاءَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ كُنْتُ لَمْ أَرَهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَإِنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ أَوِ الْمُوقِنُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ فَيَقُولُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا وَآمَنَّا وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ لَهُ نَمْ صَالِحًا قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنْ كُنْتَ لَمُؤْمِنًا وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ فَيَقُولُ لَا أَدْرِي سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُهُ  

[Machine] She said, "The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was leading the people in prayer. I said to 'Aishah, 'What is happening to the people?' She said, 'Glorified is Allah,' and pointed with her head towards the sky. I said, 'Is it a sign?' She nodded her head in affirmation. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stood up and prolonged the standing until I started feeling dizzy and drew closer to join the rows. I untied my headcloth (that was around my waist) and began pouring water on my head while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was still praying until the sun appeared and a clamor was heard amongst the people. I silenced them and asked 'Aishah, 'What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do?' She said, 'He praised and glorified Allah, then said, 'Now, as for what follows, there is not anything that I did not see except that I saw it in my place (of residence) until I have witnessed both Paradise and Hellfire, and it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves soon, or it is the trial of the Antichrist (Dajjal).' One of you will be asked in his grave, 'What do you say about this man who was among you?' As for a believer, he will say, 'He is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, who came to us with clear signs and guidance, so we believed and followed him.' It will be said to him, 'We knew that you used to say that.' So sleep a good sleep like a bridegroom who is not awakened except by the closest of his family when he has finished his sound sleep (having a good dream) and as for a hypocrite and a doubtful person, they will say, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say.' It will be said to him, 'Neither did you know nor did you follow what the people said.'"  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ خُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَأَوْمَأَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ فَأَوْمَأَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ حَتَّى أَخَذَنِي دَوَارٌ فَدَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْقِرْبَةِ فَفَتَحْتُ رَأْسَهَا فَجَعَلْتُ أُصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى تَجَلَّتِ الشَّمْسُ وَلَغَطَ نِسْوَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَجَعَلْتُ أُسْكِتُهُنَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ قَرِيبًا أَوْ مِثْلَ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي قَبْرِهِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ مَا تَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي كَانَ فِيكُمْ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ فَيَقُولُ هُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ لَهُ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ فَنَمْ صَالِحًا وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ الْمُرْتَابُ فَيَقُولُ لَا أَدْرِي فَيُقَالُ لَا دَرَيْتَ فَيُغْلَظُ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ  

[Machine] I came to Aisha, and the people were standing, and she was praying. So I asked, "What is the matter with the people?" She pointed with her hand towards the sky and said, "Glory be to Allah." So I asked, "Is it a sign?" She nodded her head in affirmation and said, "Yes." Then I stood until I felt weak and then I poured water on my head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praised and thanked Allah when he departed and said, "I have seen everything that I have observed in this place, even Paradise and Hell, and it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in the graves, similar or close to it. I do not know which one." Aisha said, "Asmaa mentioned the trial of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) and said, 'One of you will be brought and it will be said to him, 'What do you know about this man?' So the believer or the one who is certain will say, 'I do not know which one.' Asmaa said, 'He will say, 'He is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah who brought us clear signs and guidance, and we believed and followed him.' Then it will be said, 'We know that you were a believer in him.' He will say this three times. As for the hypocrite or the doubtful one, I do not know which one.'" Asmaa said, "He will say, 'I heard people saying something, so I said it.'"  

أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ وَإِذَا هِيَ تُصَلِّي فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَقُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى تَجَلَّانِي الْغَشْيُ فَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي الْمَاءَ قَالَتْ فَحَمِدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اللهُ ﷻ وَأثْنَى عَلَيْهِ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ وَقَالَ مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ لَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَى أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ أَوْ قَرِيبًا لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَالْمُؤْمِنُ أَوِ الْمُوقِنُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ فَيَقُولُ هُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنْ كُنْتَ لَمُؤْمِنًا بِهِ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ فَيَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُ  

[Machine] I went to Aisha and found people standing, while she was praying. I said, "What is the matter with the people?" She pointed towards the sky with her hand and said, "Glory be to Allah." So, I said, "Is there a sign?" She nodded with her head, meaning, "Yes." So, I stood for prayer until I felt my legs strained. Then I poured water on my head and praised Allah and thanked Him. She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ praised Allah and extolled Him, and said, 'No one sees what I have seen, except that they will see it in this place of mine, even the Paradise and the Hellfire. And it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in the graves, similar to or almost like the trial of the False Messiah.' It will be said to one of you: 'What do you know about this man?' As for the believer, he will say: 'Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He brought us clear signs and guidance, so we believed and followed him.' It will be said: 'Rest in peace, for we have known that you were a believer in Allah.' As for the hypocrite or the doubting person, I do not know which of the two she said, they will say: 'I do not know. I heard the people saying something, so I said it too.'"  

أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ وَإِذَا هِيَ تُصَلِّي فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَقُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى تَجَلَّانِي الْغَشْيُ وَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ قَالَتْ فَحَمِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ وَقَالَ مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أُرِيتُهُ إِلَّا رَأيَتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ أَوْ قَرِيبًا لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ يُؤْتَىأَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ فَيَقُولُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ نَمْ صَالِحًا فَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ فَيَقُولُ لَا أَدْرِي سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُهُ  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi reported that Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad ad-Drawardi narrated from Hisham ibn Uruwah who narrated from Fatimah bint al-Mundhir, who narrated from Asma bint Abi Bakr, that the Prophet ﷺ instructed them to perform the release of slaves when the sun eclipsed.  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَهُمْ بِعِتَاقَةٍ حِينَ كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ»  

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ commanded the freeing of slaves during a solar eclipse."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِالْعِتَاقَةِ عِنْدَ كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ»  

[Machine] "We were ordered to emancipate the slaves at sunrise."  

«كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ بِالْعِتَاقَةِ عِنْدَ كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ»  

Some time was spent before we were able to find them. He (the Holy Prophet) chewed them and then put his saliva in his mouth. The first thing that entered his stomach, was the saliva of Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Asma' said: He then rubbed him and blessed him and gave him the name of Abdullah. He ('Abdullah) went to him (the Holy Prophet) when he had attained the age of seven or eight years in order to pledge allegiance to Messenger of Allah ﷺ as Zubair had commanded him to do. Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled when he saw him coming towards him and then accepted his allegiance. (Using translation from Muslim 2146a)  

عَنْ عُرْوَةَ وَفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا خَرَجَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ هَاجَرَتْ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَدِمَتْ قِبَاءَ فَنُفِسَتْ بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بِهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ حِينَ نُفِسَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِتَحْنِكَهُ «فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهَا فَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِتَمْرَةٍ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَمَكَثْنَا سَاعَةً نَلْتَمِسُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ نَجِدَهَا «فَمَضَغَهَا ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا فِي فِيهِ» فَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ دَخَلَ بَطْنَهُ لَرِيقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ «ثُمَّ مَسَحَهُ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَعْدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ لِيُبَايِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهُ بِذَلِكَ الزُّبَيْرُ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ رَآهُ مُقْبِلًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ بَايَعَهُ» بَابٌ  

[Machine] A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a neighbor who is always bothering me but I hate to say that she is bothersome. Is it sinful for me to pretend to be satisfied with something that I haven't been given?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who pretends to be satisfied with something he hasn't been given is like one who wears clothes of falsehood."  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لِي جَارَةٌ أَيْ ضُرَّةٌ فَكَرِهَتْ أَنْ تَقُولَ ضُرَّةً فَعَلَيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ بِمَا لَمْ أَعْطَهْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, I have a husband and a neighbor, so is it permissible for me to visit her and take from her what my husband has not given me?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded, "The one who seeks satisfaction from what they have not been given is like one who wears clothes made of falsehood."  

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي زَوْجًا وَإِنَّ لِي جَارَةً فَهَلْ عَلِيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ عِنْدَهَا بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطِنِي زَوْجِي؟ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a need. Is it permissible for me to satisfy myself with my husband in a way that he does not satisfy me?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "The one who satisfies themselves with what they have not been given is like someone who wears clothes made of falsehood."  

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي ضَرَّةً فَهَلْ عَلِيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ مِنْ زَوْجِي بِمَا لَا يُعْطِينِي؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "One who is satisfied with what he has not been given is like someone wearing two garments of falsehood."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One who is content with what he has not been given is like someone who wears two garments of falsehood."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who is satisfied with what he has not been given is like someone wearing two garments of deception."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One who is satisfied with what he has not been given is like someone wearing two false garments." Chapter.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ» بَابٌ  

[Machine] "When a woman in her menstrual period was brought to her, she would order water to be poured on her and she would say, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Cool her down with water, for it is from the heat of Hellfire.'  

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ الْمَوْعُوكَةِ أَمَرَتْ أَنْ يُصَبَّ عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءُ وَقَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ»  

[Machine] "When a woman used to be brought to the Prophet ﷺ, she would be given water to perform ablution, which she would pour on herself and between her sides. She would say, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to cool ourselves with water, for it is from the heat of Hellfire.'"  

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ دَعَتْ بِالْمَاءِ فَسَكَبَتْهُ عَلَيْهِ وَبَيْنَ جَنْبَيْهَا وَقَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُبَرِّدَ بِالْمَاءِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا مِنْ فَحِيحِ جَهَنَّمَ»  

[Machine] "It used to be that a woman in her menses would be brought, and then water would be poured on her side, while saying, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Cool her with water.' And he said, 'Indeed, it is from the heat of Hellfire.'"  

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُؤْتَى بِالْمَرْأَةِ الْمَوْعُوكَةِ فَتَدْعُو بِمَاءٍ فَتَصُبُّهُ فِي جَنْبِهَا وَتَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ» وَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا مِنْ فَحِيحِ جَهَنَّمَ»  

[Machine] "When Asmaa was brought a woman, she would pour water between herself and her side and say: 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to cool it with water.'"  

أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا أَخَذَتِ الْمَاءَ فَتَصُبُّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَنْبِهَا وَقَالَتْ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُبْرِدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, he narrated from Bakr bin Sahl, Abdullah bin Yusuf, Malik, Hisham bin 'Urwah, and Fatimah bint al-Mundhir that Asma bint Abi Bakr, when visited by a woman who had a fever, would take water and pour it between herself and the woman. She would say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with water.'"  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا أَخَذَتِ الْمَاءَ فَصَبَّتْهُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَنْبِهَا وَقَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَحِيحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ»  

[Machine] "That the name of the daughter of Abu Bakr used to be brought to the menstruating woman, so she would invoke blessings upon her and she would take water and pour it between her and her side, and she said, 'Verily, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded her to cool it with water.'"  

أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ تُؤْتَى بِالْمَرْأَةِ الْمَوْعُوكَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا أَخَذْتِ الْمَاءَ فَصَبَّتْهُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَنْبِهَا وَقَالَتْ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تُبْرِدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ»  

[Machine] "It used to be that a woman with irregular bleeding would be brought (to the Prophet). He would then command that water be poured over her, and he would say, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to cool it with water.'"  

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُؤْتَى بِالْمَرْأَةِ الْمَوْعُوكَةِ فَتَأمُرُ بِالْمَاءِ فَتَصُبُّ عَلَيْهَا وَتَقُولُ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُبْرِدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ»
