[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "Set out in the morning for surely it is greater in reward."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَسْفِرُوا بِالصُّبْحِ فَإِنَّهُ أَعْظَمُ لِلْأَجْرِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah loves a person, He protects him in this world just as one of you would protect his sick friend with water."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللهُ عَبْدًا حَمَاهُ الدُّنْيَا كَمَا يَظَلُّ أَحَدُكُمْ يَحْمِي سَقِيمَهُ بِالْمَاءِ»  

[Machine] Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah ﷻ completed His creation, He sat down and placed one leg on top of the other and said, 'It is not fitting for anyone from my creation to do this.' Abu Sa'id replied, 'Indeed, by Allah, I will never do it.'"  

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمَّا قَضَى خَلْقَهُ اسْتَلْقَى فَوَضَعَ إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى وَقَالَ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِي أَنْ يَفْعَلَ هَذَا فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ لَا جَرَمَ وَاللهِ لَا أَفْعَلُهُ أَبَدًا  

[Machine] Abu Muslim, a sheikh who used to be in the mosque of Hammam, narrated from Qatadah, from Muawiyah ibn Qurrah, from his father who said: "During the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , we used to be expelled (from praying) between the pillars."  

ثنا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ شَيْخٌ كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مَسْجِدِ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ «كُنَّا نُطْرَدُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ بَيْنَ السَّوَارِي»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about vessels? He said, "Verily, vessels do not prohibit anything, so choose what appears good to you and avoid everything intoxicating."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَوْعِيَةِ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الْأَوْعِيَةَ لَا تُحَرِّمُ شَيْئًا فَانْتَبِذُوا فِيمَا بَدَا لَكُمْ وَاجْتَنِبُوا كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I slaughter the sheep and I am merciful to it." He said, "And if you mercy the sheep, Allah will have mercy on you."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ وَأَنَا أَرْحَمُهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am taking the sheep to slaughter it, so I can be merciful to it." He said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, may Allah show mercy to you."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لِآخُذُ الشَّاةَ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَأَرْحَمَهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The superiority of ʿAisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid to other kinds of food . " (Using translation from Bukhārī 5419)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ»  

كَانَ أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ بَنُو أُبَيْرِقَ بِشْرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ وَمُبَشِّرٌ وَكَانَ بَشِيرٌ رَجُلًا مُنَافِقًا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ الشَّعْرَ يَهْجُو بِهِ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ يَنْحَلُهُ لِبَعْضِ الْعَرَبِ وَيَقُولُ قَالَ فُلَانٌ كَذَا وَقَالَ فُلَانٌ كَذَا فَإِذَا سَمِعَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ الشَّعْرِ قَالُوا وَاللهِ مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا الشَّعْرَ إِلَّا الْخَبِيثُ فَقَالَ أَوَكُلَّمَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ قَصِيَدةً قَالُوا ابْنُ أُبَيْرِقٍ قَالَهَا وَكَانُوا أَهْلَ بَيْتِ فَاقَةٍ وَحَاجَةٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ وَكَانَ النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا طَعَامُهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ التَّمْرُ وَالشَّعِيرُ فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا كَانَ لَهُ الْيَسَارُ أَكَلَ الْبُرَّ فَقَدِمَ طَعَامٌ مِنَ الشَّامِ فَابْتَاعَ عَمِّي رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حِمْلًا مِنَ الدَّرْمَكِ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي مَشْرُبَةٍ لَهُ وَفِي الْمَشْرُبَةِ سِلَاحٌ لَهُ دِرْعَانِ وَسَيْفَاهُمَا وَمَا يُعَلِّمُهُمَا فَعُدِّيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ اللَّيْلِ وَنُقِبَتِ الْمَشْرُبَةُ وَأُخِذَ الطَّعَامُ وَالسِّلَاحُ فَأَتَانِي عَمِّي رِفَاعَةُ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي تَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ عُدِّيَ عَلَيْنَا فِي لَيْلَتِنَا هَذِهِ فَنُقِبَتِ الْمَشْرُبَةُ فَذُهِبَ بِطَعَامِنَا وَسِلَاحِنَا فَتَحَسَّسْنَا فِي الدَّارِ وَسَأَلْنَا فَقِيلَ قَدْ رَأَيْنَا بَنِي أُبَيْرِقٍ وَاسْتَوْقَدُوا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَمَا نَرَى فِيمَا نَرَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ طَعَامِكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَنُو أُبَيْرِقٍ وَنَحْنُ نَسْأَلُ فِي الدَّارِ وَاللهِ مَا نَرَى صَاحِبَكُمْ إِلَا لَبِيدَ بْنَ سَهْلٍ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا لَهُ صَلَاحٌ وَإِسْلَامٌ فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ لَبِيدٌ اخْتَرَطَ سَيْفَهُ وَقَالَ أَنَا أَسْرِقُ وَاللهِ لَيُخَالِطَنَّكُمْ هَذَا السَّيْفُ أَوْ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّ هَذِهِ السَّرِقَةَ قَالُوا إِلَيْكَ عَنَّا أَيُّهَا الرَّجُلُ وَاللهِ مَا أَنْتَ بِصَاحِبِهَا فَسَأَلْنَا فِي الدَّارِ حَتَّى لَمْ يُشَكَّ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُهَا فَقَالَ لِي عَمِّي يَا ابْنَ أَخِي لَوْ أَتَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنَّا أَهْلَ جَفَاءٍ عَمَدُوا إِلَى عَمِّي رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَنَقَبُوا مَشْرُبَةً لَهُ وَأَخَذُوا سِلَاحَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ فَلْيَرْدُدْ إِلَيْنَا سِلَاحَنَا أَمَا الطَّعَامُ فَلَا حَاجَةَ لَنَا بِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَأَنْظُرُ فِي ذَلِكَ» فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ بَنُو أُبَيْرِقٍ أَتَوْا رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ وَكَلَّمُوهُ فِي ذَلِكَ وَاجْتَمَعَ لَهُ ثَلَاثُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الدَّارِ فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ قَتَادَةَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ وَعَمَّهُ عَمَدَا إِلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ مِنَّا أَهْلِ إِسْلَامٍ وَصَلَاحٍ يَرْمُونَهُمْ بِالسَّرِقَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ وَلَا ثَبْتٍ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَلَّمَتْهُ فَقَالَ «أَعَمَدْتُمْ إِلَى قَوْمٍ ذُكِرَ مِنْهُمْ إِسْلَامٌ وَصَلَاحٌ تَرْمُونَهُمْ بِالسَّرِقَةِ؟» فَرَجَعْتُ وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي خَرَجْتُ مِنْ بَعْضِ مَالِي وَلَمْ أُكَلِّمَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ذَلِكَ فَأَتَانِي عَمِّي رِفَاعَة فَقَالَ ابْنَ أَخِي مَا صَنَعْتَ؟ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ مَا قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ اللهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ فَلَمْ نَلْبَثْ أَنْ نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ {إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِمَا أَرَاكَ اللهُ وَلَا تَكُنْ لِلْخَائِنِينَ خَصِيمًا} بَنِي أُبَيْرِقٍ {وَاسْتَغْفَرِ اللهَ} أَيْ مِمَّا قُلْتَ لِقَتَادَةَ {إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا وَلَا تُجَادِلْ عَنِ الَّذِينَ يَخْتَانُونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ} بَنِي أُبَيْرِقٍ {إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَنْ كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمًا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ اللهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيَّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرْضَى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَكَانَ اللهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا هَا أَنْتُمْ هَؤُلَاءِ جَادَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَمَنْ يُجَادِلُ اللهَ عَنْهُمْ} الْآيَةُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا} أَيْ لَوْ أَنَّهُمُ اسْتَغْفَرُوا اللهَ لَغَفَرَ لَهُمْ {وَمَنْ يَكْسِبْ إِثْمًا} فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَكَانَ اللهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا وَمَنْ يَكْسِبْ خَطِيئَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِيئًا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُبِينًا قَوْلُهُمْ لِلَبِيدٍ {وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَهَمَّتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالسِّلَاحِ فَرَدُّهُ إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُ عَمِّيَ بِالسِّلَاحِ وَكَانَ شَيْخًا قَدْ عَمِيَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَكُنْتُ أَرَى إِسْلَامَهُ مَدْخُولًا فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُهُ بِالسِّلَاحِ قَالَ ابْنَ أَخِي هُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّ إِسْلَامَهُ كَانَ صَحِيحًا فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ لَحِقَ بَشِيرٌ بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ فَنَزَلَ عَلَى سُلَافَةَ بِنْتِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِيهِ {وَمَنْ يُشَاقِقِ} الرَّسُولَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْهُدَى وَيَتَّبِعَ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِ مَا تَوَلَّى وَنُصْلِهِ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيرًا إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا بَعِيدًا فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ عَلَى سُلَافَةَ بِنْتِ سَعِيدٍ رَمَاهَا بِأَبْيَاتِ شَعَرٍ أَخَذَتْ رَحْلَهُ فَوَضَعَتْهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ بِهِ فَرَمَتْ بِهِ الْأَبْطَحَ وَأَنَّهُ نَفَتَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْهُمْ لِيَسْرِقَ مَتَاعَهُمْ فَأَلْقَى الله عَلَيْهِ صَخْرَةً فَكَانَتْ قَبْرَهُ  

[Machine] I went out one night, while it was dark, and I said to myself, "If only I could go to the Prophet ﷺ so that I could pray with him and have a private conversation with him." So, I did just that. When I entered the mosque, the sky lit up and the Prophet ﷺ saw me and said, "O Qatadah, what has brought you here?" I replied, "I wanted to be comforted by you instead of my parents." He said, "Take this staff and use it as a walking stick, for it will light up ten steps in front of you and ten steps behind you." Then he said, "When you enter your home, strike it on the ground like the sturdiest stone on a person's chest, as that will repel the devil." So, I left and it illuminated my way, then I struck it on the ground as the sturdiest stone until the devil left my house.  

خَرَجْتُ لَيْلَةً مِنَ اللَّيَالِي مُظْلِمَةً فَقُلْتُ لَوْ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَشَهِدَتُ مَعَهُ الصَّلَاةَ وَآنَسْتُهُ بِنَفْسِي فَفَعَلْتُ فَلَمَّا دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ بَرَقَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَرَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا قَتَادَةُ مَا هَاجَ عَلَيْكَ؟» فَقُلْتُ أَرَدْتُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَنْتَ أَنْ أُونِسَكَ قَالَ «خُذْ هَذَا الْعُرْجُونَ فَتَحَصَّنْ بِهِ فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا خَرَجْتَ أَضَاءَ لَكَ عَشْرًا أَمَامَكَ وَعَشْرًا خَلْفَكَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِذَا دَخَلْتَ بَيْتَكَ اضْرِبْ بِهِ مِثْلَ الْحَجَرِ الْأَخْشَنِ فِي إِنْسَانِ الْبَيْتِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ الشَّيْطَانُ» قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ فَأَضَاءَ لِي ثُمَّ ضَرَبْتُ مِثْلَ الْحَجَرِ الْأَخْشَنِ حَتَّى خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِي  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and embraced Islam. He said to me, "O Qatadah, cleanse yourself with water and sidr (lotus) leaves and remove the hair of disbelief from yourself." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command those who embraced Islam to be circumcised. He was eighty years old.  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْلَمْتُ فَقَالَ لِي «يَا قَتَادَةُ اغْتَسَلْ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ وَاحْلِقْ عَنْكَ شَعَرَ الْكُفْرِ» وَكَانُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنْ يَخْتَتِنَ وَكَانَ ابْنَ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A servant will always remain in a state of soundness in his religion as long as he does not consume alcohol. However, when he drinks it, Allah will remove his covering (of protection) and the devil will become his guardian, leading him towards every evil and diverting him from every good."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَنْ يَزَالَ الْعَبْدُ فِي فُسْحَةٍ مِنْ دِينِهَ مَا لَمْ يَشْرَبِ الْخَمْرَ فَإِذَا شَرِبَهَا خَرَقَ اللهُ عَنْهُ سَتَرَهُ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلِيَّهُ وَسَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ وَرِجْلَهُ يَسُوقُهُ إِلَى كُلِّ شَرٍّ وَيَصْرِفُهُ عَنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ»  

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to me for my people, I took his hand and bid him farewell. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah increase your taqwa (piety), forgive your sins, and direct you towards goodness wherever you may be."  

لَمَّا عَقَدَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمِي أَخَذْتُ يَدَهُ فَوَدَّعْتُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَعَلَ اللهُ التَّقْوَى زَادَكَ وَغَفَرَ ذَنْبِكَ وَوَجَّهَكَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ حَيْثُ مَا يَكُونُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to fast the white days, which are the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of each lunar month, and he said, "It is the perpetual fast." "And their wording is one."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَصُومَ أَيَّامَ الْبِيضِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ وَقَالَ «وَهُوَ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ» «وَلَفْظُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ»  

[Machine] Narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet ﷺ used to command us to fast on the white days, which are the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of each lunar month. He would also say, "Fasting the lifetime or the similitude of fasting the lifetime." This was reported by Shu'bah from Anas from 'Abdul-Malik ibn Al-Minhall from his father. However, there is doubt concerning this narration, and the correct narration is the Hadith of Hammam.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِصِيَامِ الْبِيضِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ وَيَقُولُ «صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ أَوْ كَهَيْئَةِ صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَهَمَ فِيهِ وَالصَّوَابُ حَدِيثُ هَمَّامٍ  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ reciting in the morning, "By the fig and the olive."  

«سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ»  

[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in the first unit of the dawn prayer, and the palm tree had fresh, tender shoots."  

«سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلَعٌ نَضِيدٌ  

[Machine] "He prayed the Fajr prayer with the Prophet ﷺ , then he recited and the date palm trees are tall."  

«أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ» فَقَرَأَ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ  

[Machine] "I prayed the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (PBUH) and in the first Rak'ah (unit of prayer), he recited the Quran Majid."  

«صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْفَجْرَ فَقَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ»  

[Machine] "I prayed the Fajr prayer with the Prophet ﷺ, and he recited, 'By the fig and the olive.'"  

«صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْفَجْرَ فَقَرَأَ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting in the Fajr prayer: "Qaaf. By the Glorious Qur'an. But they marvel that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing. When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return" (Quran 50:1-3). So I said to myself, what is driving her?  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَى {وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ} فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي مَا يَسُوقُهَا؟  

" And the tall palm trees having flower spikes piled one above another" (Al-Qur'an 50:10). (Using translation from Muslim 457b)  

«أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ»  

[Machine] I prayed behind the Prophet ﷺ and heard him recite, "And by the date-palm trees with clustered dates, And by the grain with husk."  

«صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ»  

“And tall date palms, with ranged clusters” [50:10] in the Subh. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 816)  

«سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الصُّبْحِ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ»  

[Machine] I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the morning prayer, and he recited "Qaf. By the honored Qur'an. But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves..." until he reached "And the palm trees - its fruit clusters are hanging low." I started repeating it, but I do not know what he said.  

صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ فَقَرَأَ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ حَتَّى بَلَغَ {وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ} فَجَعَلْتُ أُرَدِّدُهَا وَلَا أَدْرِي مَا قَالَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the first rak'ah of the Fajr prayer  

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى ق»  

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, divert from me the evils of manners, actions, desires, and diseases."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي مُنْكَرَاتِ الْأَخْلَاقِ وَالْأَعْمَالِ وَالْأَهْوَاءِ وَالْأدْوَاءِ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, extend your hand so that I may pledge allegiance to you on behalf of myself and my daughter Al-Huwaisilah. Even if I were to lie to Allah, you would be deceived." He (the Prophet) said, and Khalid bin Al-Walid charged toward us on his horse, so we said, "We are Muslims." And we left and fought with him and his foolish companions. So we divided the spoils and filled our hands.  

قُلْتُ «يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ أُبَايِعْكَ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَعَلَى ابْنَتِي الْحُوَيْصِلَةِ وَلَوْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَى اللهِ خَدَعَكَ» قَالَ وَحَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فِي خَيْلَهِ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ فَتَرَكَنَا وَغَزَوْنَا مَعَهُ الْأُبُلَّةَ فَقَسَمْنَاهَا فَمَلَأْنَا أَيْدِينَا  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ breaking his fast when the sun sets."  

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُفْطِرُ إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ»  

[Machine] "Regarding the prayer between the pillars during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ,"  

عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَيْنَ الْأَسَاطِينِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ in a group from Muzaynah, and we pledged allegiance to him. I had my hand inside the pocket of his shirt, and I touched his ring. 'Urwah said, "I have never seen Mu'awiyah and his son wearing their Izars (waistcloths) in summer or winter, except that they always wear them." And this statement is according to the hadith of 'Ali ibn 'Abdul-'Aziz.  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ وَقَدْ أَدْخَلْتُ يَدَيْ مِنْ جَيْبِ قَمِيصَهِ فَمَسَسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ «» قَالَ عُرْوَةُ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلَا ابْنَهُ فِي شِتَاءٍ قَطُّ وَلَا حَرٍّ إِلَّا مُطْلِقَيْ إِزَارِهِمَا لَا يَزِرُونَ أَبَدًا «» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah and I touched the ring between his shoulders and kissed his hands. Then I came and he said, "Who are you?" I said, "From Muzaynah."  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَسَسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ وَقَبَّلْتُ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقَالَ «مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ؟» قُلْتُ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ  

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, if I lay down a sheep to slaughter it, and I feel compassion towards it?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, may Allah have mercy on you."  

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِ اضْطَجَعَتْ شَاةٌ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَرَحِمْتُهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»  

[Machine] To the Prophet ﷺ , someone said, "I slaughter a sheep and show mercy to it." He (the Prophet) said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, Allah will show mercy to you."  

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ شَاةً فَأَرْحَمُهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet sent his grandfather Muawiya to a man who married the wife of his father, and he had him killed and confiscated his wealth.  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ أَبَاهُ جَدُّ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ عَرَّسَ بِامْرَأَةِ أَبِيهِ فَضَرَبَ عُنُقَهُ وَخَمَّسَ مَالَهُ»  

[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on behalf of his father and said, 'Show me the ring.' I then put my hand into the pocket of his shirt until I placed my hand on it."  

عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ «أَرِنِي الْخَاتَمَ فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي جَيْبِ قَمِيصَهِ حَتَّى وَضَعْتُ يَدَيَّ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I put my hands in the folds of his garment, and I did not leave until he prayed for me. While I was touching the ring, I saw on his shoulders a mark similar to the mark of prophethood."  

«أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي فِي جُرُبَّانِهِ فَمَا تَرَكْتُ أَنْ دَعَا لِي وَأَنَا أَلْمَسُ الْخَاتَمَ فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَى كَتِفَيْهِ مِثْلَ السِّلْعَةِ خَاتَمَ النُّبُوَّةِ»  

[Machine] We traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a period of time, and we had no food except for black dates and water.  

عَبَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بُرْهَةً مِنْ دَهْرِنَا وَمَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ  

[Machine] "O my son, if you are in a gathering where you anticipate good, and a need arises for you, then say 'peace be upon you,' for you are a partner in what they receive in that gathering."  

«يَا بُنَيَّ» إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ تَرْجُو خَيْرَهُ فَعَجَّلَتْ بِكَ حَاجَةٌ فَقُلْتَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِنَّكَ شَرِيكُهُمْ فِيمَا يُصِيبُونَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fasting the white days is fasting for a lifetime, and its iftar (breaking the fast) is blessed."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صِيَامُ الْبِيضِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ»  

[Machine] A man used to come to the Prophet ﷺ, and with him was his son. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you love him?" He replied, "I love him for the sake of Allah as I love you." Then his son passed away, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "Where is so-and-so?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah, his son has passed away." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Does it not please you that you should not come to any of the gates of paradise except that he will open it for you?" They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, is this particular to him or for all of us?" He replied, "No, it is for all of you." [This wording is from the hadith of 'Amr ibn Marzouq']  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَخْتَلِفُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَتُحِبُّهُ؟» قَالَ أَحَبَّكَ اللهُ كَمَا أُحِبُّهُ فَتُوُفِّيَ ابْنُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَيْنَ فُلَانٌ؟» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاتَ ابْنُهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَ لَا يَسُرُّكَ أَنْ لَا تَأْتِيَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا جَاءَ حَتَّى يَفْتَحَهُ لَكَ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَهُ خَاصَّةً أَمْ لَنَا كُلُّنَا؟ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ لَكُمْ كُلُّكُمْ» «وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَرْزُوقٍ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There will always be people from my Ummah who are supported and protected. Those who betray and abandon them cannot harm them, until the Day of Judgment."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَزَالُ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَنْصُورِينَ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the people of Sham (Syria and its surroundings) are corrupt, there is no good in you."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا فَسَدَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيكُمْ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ wiped his head and sought forgiveness for him.  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ»  

[Machine] "He came to the Prophet ﷺ after having milked and tied his camel."  

«أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَقَدْ حَلَبَ وَصَرَّ»  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'By Him in whose hand is my soul, they both (referring to the father and mother) have greater weight on the Day of Judgment than anyone else.'"  

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُمَا أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ»  

[Machine] "My father said, 'When you pass by a gathering, greet its occupants, for if they are in a state of goodness, you will share in their reward. But if they are not, you will be rewarded for your own actions.' This is what I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say."  

أَبِي «إِذَا مَرَرْتَ بِالْمَجْلِسِ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ فَإِنْ يَكُونُوا فِي خَيْرٍ فَأَنْتَ شَرِيكُهُمْ وَإِنْ يَكُونُوا فِي غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ كَانَ لَكَ أَجْرٌ هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever utters a takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) at the time of sunset on the seashore, raising his voice, Allah will give him rewards equal to the number of drops in the sea: ten good deeds and erase from him ten bad deeds. He will also raise him in status by ten degrees, the distance of a hundred years in swift horses."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَبَّرَ تَكْبِيرَةً عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ عَلَى سَاحِلِ الْبَحْرِ رَافِعًا صَوْتَهُ أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ بِعَدَدِ كُلِّ قَطْرَةٍ فِي الْبَحْرِ عَشَرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَمَحَا عَنْهُ عَشَرَ سَيِّئَاتٍ وَرَفَعَ لَهُ عَشَرَ دَرَجَاتٍ مَا بَيْنَ الدَّرَجَتَيْنِ مَسِيرَةُ مِائَةِ عَامٍ بِالْفَرَسِ الْمُسْرِعِ»  

[Machine] We were with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when modesty was mentioned in his presence. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, is modesty part of religion?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Indeed, it is the entirety of religion."  

كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ الْحَيَاءُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الدِّينِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَلْ هُوَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ»  

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ and the concept of modesty was mentioned in his presence. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, is modesty part of religion?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Indeed, it is the entirety of religion."  

كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ الْحَيَاءُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الدِّينِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَلْ هُوَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ»
