[Machine] In the name of Allah, at its beginning and at its end. So I asked him about that and he said, "My grandfather, Umayyah ibn Makhshiyya, narrated to me that he was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ . There was a man who used to eat with the Prophet ﷺ but he would not mention the name of Allah before eating. Then, when he was in the last morsel, he would say, 'In the name of Allah, at its beginning and at its end.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The devil was eating with him until he mentioned the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end, and then the devil vomited out everything he had eaten.'"

Umayyah was sitting and a man was eating. He did not mention Allah's name until there remained the last morsel. When he raised it to his mouth, he said: In the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end of it. The Prophet ﷺ laughed and said: The devil kept eating along with him, but when he mentioned Allah's name, he vomited what was in his belly. Abu Dawud: Jabir bin Subh is grandfather of Sulaiman bin Harb from his mother's side. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3768)

[Machine] "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ sent me on a mission to the Quraysh, so I came to the area of Khushaba Khubayb. I was afraid of being seen, so I hid there for a while. Then I left and accidentally fell to the ground, so I leaned against something nearby. When I turned around, I couldn't see the area of Khushaba Khubayb anymore, as if the earth had swallowed it. There has been no trace of Khushaba Khubayb ever since."

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and he gave me a piece of land. He granted it to me and to Ibn As-Sabil, the first Rayyan. And he granted a water well in the valley known as Al-Jauniyah, which is a well where water is stored, but it is not fresh water. He also granted Iyas ibn Qatadah Al-Anzi the land of Al-Jabiyyah, which is below Al-Yamamah. All of us were given these lands and it was written for each of us in documents.
[Machine] "Do not wrap me in a stitched garment," so when he died and was washed, they sent to me asking me to send the shroud. So I sent it to them and they said, "This is a shirt." I said, "Indeed, my father forbade me to shroud him in a stitched garment." So I sent to the tailors and there was a shirt with the tailors, so they brought it and I dressed him in it and they took him away. Then I closed my door and followed him, but I returned and found the shirt in the house. So I sent to those who washed my father and asked them, "Did you shroud him in a shirt?" They said, "Yes." I said, "Is this it?" They said, "Yes."
[Machine] "Do you not go out and help me with these people?" He said, "Yes, if you wish, O my daughter, hand me the sword." So she handed him the sword and he placed it in its sheath. Then he took it and said, "Indeed, my beloved and your cousin Muhammad ﷺ commanded me that when there is a battle between two tribes of Muslims, I should take a wooden sword." So he took some of it while it was in its sheath and said, "If you wish, I will go out with you with this." He said, "I have no need of you."
[Machine] My friend, meaning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, advised me saying, "Verily, there will be trials and divisions. So when that happens, break your sword and take a sword made of wood." He also commanded his family, when he felt heavy, to shroud him and not to dress him in a shirt. So we dressed him in a shirt, and we found the shirt on a peg in the morning.
[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'If you see two men from my Ummah fighting each other over wealth, then at that time prepare a sword made of wood.'"
[Machine] When Ali arrived in Basra, he came to our house and asked, "Is Abu Muslim here?" We replied, "Yes," and he went out to him. Ali said, "Won't you help us with this matter?" Abu Muslim replied, "Yes, my neighbor, bring me that sword." So she brought him his sword, and when he inspected it, he found that it was made of wood. Abu Muslim said to him, "Indeed, your cousin, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, entrusted me that when there is a conflict among the Muslims, I should take a wooden sword. So, he turned away from me in anger and said, "We have no need for you or your sword." Yazid ibn Zurai narrated this story to me, and he had heard it from Yunus ibn Ubaid, who had heard it from this Sheikh before I met him.

[Machine] Ali came to his father, and he stood by the door and sought permission. He said, "O father of Muslim, what prevents you from finding and taking your rightful share in this matter?" His father said, "I am prevented from that by a pledge made to me by your uncle and cousin ﷺ. He commanded me that when the civil strife occurs, I should take a sword made of wood." So here it is with me, and if you wish, I will fight with it.

[Machine] To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Uhban, if you remain after me, you will see differences among my companions. If you live until that day, then make your sword from the branches." He said, "So I made my sword from branches. Then Ali came to me, took hold of my clothing, and greeted me. He said, 'O Uhban, aren't you going out?' I replied, 'By my mother and father, O Abu Al-Hasan.' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me, commanded me, advised me, or approached me himself.' Shak, the son of Zahdam, doubted, so he said, 'O Uhban, if you remain after me, you will see differences among my companions. If you live until that day, then make your sword from the branches.' [Machine] We said, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so performs great feats in battle?" He said, "He is in the Fire." We came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "So-and-so has been martyred." He said, "He is in the Fire." When the pain of his wounds intensified, he took his sword and placed it between his chest, then leaned on it until it came out from his back. I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah." [Machine] "I used to serve the Prophet ﷺ, and he said to me, 'O Aslam, come and show me how to do such and such.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have experienced a pollution (janabah) and he remained silent for a while until Jibril (Gabriel) came to him with the sand for dry ablution (tayammum). He said, 'Get up, O Aslam, and perform tayammum.' He said, 'Then the Prophet showed me how he taught tayammum. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ struck his hands on the ground and then shook them off. Then he wiped his face with them, passed his hands over his beard, and returned them to the ground. He wiped the ground with his hands, rubbed one hand on the other, then wiped his arms up to the elbows, both the outside and inside.'"

[Machine] "I was preparing the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a journey, when I experienced sexual impurity on a cold night. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to embark on the journey, but I disliked traveling with his camel while I was in a state of impurity. I also feared that if I were to perform ablution with cold water, I would fall ill or die. So, I instructed a man from the Ansar to take the camel and I arranged some stones to heat up water. I then performed ablution and caught up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Aslam, why do I see that your camel has been changed?' I replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I did not prepare it for the journey. A man from the Ansar did that.' He asked, 'Why?' I said, 'Because I experienced sexual impurity and I feared for myself from being harmed, so I instructed him to prepare it for the journey while I heated up water using stones and performed ablution with it.' Then Allah revealed the verse from 'O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated' to 'Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful'."

[Machine] He (the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) was called by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from behind the chambers, and he said, "O Muhammad, indeed my praise is good and my criticism is bad." He (the Prophet) said, "That is for Allah ﷻ (to judge)."
[Machine] He informed me that Al-Agharr, who was a man from the tribe of Muzaynah, had companionship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He had more auspicious dates than a man from the Banu Amr ibn Awf, and they had a dispute over it. He said, "So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he sent Abu Bakr As-Siddiq with me." He said, "And whenever we met someone, they greeted us, so Abu Bakr would say, 'Shouldn't I see people initiating the greeting of peace to you so that they would receive the reward? Therefore, initiate the greeting of peace to them and you will have the reward.'"
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to get some dates from a man among the Ansar, so I went to him and requested them. I spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, 'Go with him, O Abu Bakr, and take his dates.' Abu Bakr promised me at the mosque after Fajr prayer, and I found him where he had promised. We set off, and whenever Abu Bakr saw a man from a distance, he would greet him. Abu Bakr said, 'Do you not see how the people show their respect for you? None precedes you in greeting with peace.' So, whenever a person appeared, we would greet him with peace before he greeted us."
[Machine] On the authority of the younger companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , they said: "I prayed behind the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and he recited Surah Ar-Rum."
[Machine] He tells us about Al-Aghar, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ . He heard the Prophet saying, "Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times a day."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "O people, repent to your Lord! By Allah, I indeed repent to my Lord a hundred times a day."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "O people, repent to Allah and seek forgiveness, for indeed I repent to Him a hundred times every day."
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "O people, seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him, for indeed I seek forgiveness and repent to Him a hundred times a day or even more than that."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ he said, "Indeed, there is a veil upon my heart until I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: My heart is invaded by unmindfulness, and I ask Allah's pardon a hundred times in the day. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1515)
There is (at times) some sort of shade upon my heart, and I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day. (Using translation from Muslim 2702a)

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have woken up and have not performed the Witr prayer." The Prophet replied, "Verily, Witr is performed at night." The man persisted and said, "O Prophet of Allah, I have woken up and have not performed the Witr prayer." The Prophet said, "Then, perform the Witr prayer."
