[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike horses with marks. A mark is when a horse has a white spot on its right leg and a white spot on its left hand or in its right hand and its left leg.
“The best of horses are those that are deep black, with a blaze on the forehead, white marks on the legs and white nose and upper lip, and with no whiteness on the right foreleg. If not deep-black, then reddish-brown, with these markings.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2789)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you want to go to battle, buy a dark chestnut horse with a white blaze on its forehead, and its right leg is free from any markings. By doing so, you will be victorious and successful." This is what was said by 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I advise you to use whatever dye is black, whether it is henna or a different kind, and to avoid using any dye that is red."
The Prophet ﷺ said: Keep to every sorrel horse with a white blaze and white on the legs, or dark bay with a white blaze. He then mentioned something similar. Muhammad ibn al-Muhajir said: I asked him: Why was a sorrel horse preferred? He replied: Because the Prophet ﷺ had sent a contingent, and the man who first brought the news of victory was the rider of a sorrel horse. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2544)
The Prophet ﷺ said: The most favoured horses are the sorrel. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2545)
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to name the female horses as "farsan" and it was also narrated by Abdullah ibn Haroon from his father.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "There is no Arab horse but that it is called upon twice every day with a prayer, saying, 'O Allah, you have made me dear to whoever made me dear. Make me dear to his wealth and his family.'"
