[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to command Bilal, who would then call the people and they would bring their spoils of war. He would distribute and divide it, giving one-fifth of it as charity. Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Anzi informed me, Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi informed me, Mahboub ibn Musa informed me, I am Abu Ishaq al-Fazari, and this is narrated from Abdullah ibn Shawdhab by Aamir ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Waheed.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَصَابَ غَنِيمَةً أَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَنَادَى فِي النَّاسِ فَيَجِيئُونَ بِغَنَائِمِهِمْ فَيُخِمِّسُهَا وَيُقَسِّمُهَا أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثنا مَحْبُوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى أنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَوْذَبٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَذَكَرَهُ  

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the valley of Qura and he had a horse for sale. So, I asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the spoils?" He said, "Its fifth is for Allah, and four-fifths are for the army." I said, "Then, who is more deserving of it than anyone else?" He said, "Neither you nor anyone else can take it, just as an arrow you draw from your quiver is not more deserving of it than your Muslim brother."  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِوَادِي الْقُرَى وَهُوَ يَعْرِضُ فَرَسًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْغَنِيمَةِ؟ قَالَ لِلَّهِ خُمُسُهَا وَأَرْبَعَةُ أَخْمَاسٍ لِلْجَيْشِ قُلْتُ فَمَا أَحَدٌ أَوْلَى بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ؟ قَالَ لَا وَلَا السَّهْمُ تَسْتَخْرِجُهُ مِنْ جَنْبِكَ لَيْسَ أَنْتَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ مِنْ أَخِيكَ الْمُسْلِمِ
