[Machine] About the woman and the slave, did they each have a defined share when they confronted danger? He said, "Indeed, they did not have a defined share unless they were given from the spoils of the enemy."  

عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ وَالْعَبْدِ هَلْ كَانَ لَهُمَا سَهْمٌ مَعْلُومٌ إِذَا حَضَرَا الْبَأْسَ؟ قَالَ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمَا سَهْمٌ مَعْلُومٌ إِلَّا أَنْ يُحْذَيَا مِنْ غَنَائِمِ الْعَدُوِّ  

[Machine] So he wrote to him Ibn Abbas: "Indeed you have written asking me if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ waged war with women. He used to wage war with them to treat the sick, provide them with provisions from the spoils of war, but he never struck them with an arrow."  

فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّكَ كَتَبْتَ تَسْأَلُنِي هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْزُو بِالنِّسَاءِ؟ وَقَدْ كَانَ يَغْزُو بِهِنَّ يُدَاوِينَ الْمَرْضَى وَيُحْذَيْنَ مِنَ الْغَنِيمَةِ وَأَمَّا السَّهْمُ فَلَمْ يَضْرِبْ لَهُنَّ بِسَهْمٍ  

[Machine] I witnessed the event of Khaybar while I was a slave. I asked the Messenger of Allah to give me a weapon, so he gave me a sword and told me to keep it. He also gave me some provisions, but he did not give me any more weapons. Muslim narrated this hadith with this chain of narration about zakat, and this text is also authentic according to its condition.  

شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ وَأَنَا عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَسْهِمْ لِي فَأَعْطَانِي سَيْفًا فَقَالَ تَقَلَّدْ هَذَا السَّيْفَ وَأَعْطَانِي خُرْثِيَّ مَتَاعٍ وَلَمْ يُسْهِمْ لِي أَخْرَجَ مُسْلِمٌ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ حَدِيثًا آخَرَ فِي الزَّكَاةِ وَهَذَا الْمَتْنُ أَيْضًا صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِهِ  

Hashraj ibn Ziyad reported on the authority of his grandmother that she went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the battle of Khaybar. They were six in number including herself. (She said): When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about it, he sent for us. We came to him, and found him angry. He said: With whom did you come out, and by whose permission did you come out? We said: Messenger of Allah, we have come out to spin the hair, by which we provide aid in the cause of Allah. We have medicine for the wounded, we hand arrows (to the fighters), and supply drink made of wheat or barley. He said: Stand up. When Allah bestowed victory of Khaybar on him, he allotted shares to us from spoils that he allotted to the men. He (Hashraj ibn Ziyad) said: I said to her: Grandmother, what was that? She replied: Dates. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2729)   

أَنَّهَا خَرَجَتْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ خَيْبَرَ سَادِسَ سِتِّ نِسْوَةٍ فَبَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا فَجِئْنَا فَرَأَيْنَا فِيهِ الْغَضَبَ فَقَالَ مَعَ مَنْ خَرَجْتُنَّ؟ وَبِإِذْنِ مَنْ خَرَجْتُنَّ؟ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا نَغْزِلُ الشَّعْرَ وَنُعِينُ بِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَمَعَنَا دَوَاءٌ لِلْجَرْحَى وَنُنَاوِلُ السِّهَامَ وَنَسْقِي السَّوِيقَ فَقَالَ أَقِمْنَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَتْحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ خَيْبَرَ أَسْهَمَ لَنَا كَمَا أَسْهَمَ لِلرِّجَالِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهَا يَا جَدَّةُ وَمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَتْ تَمْرًا قَالَ الشَّيْخُ إِخْبَارُهَا عَنْ عَيْنِ مَا أَعْطَاهُنَّ دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى كَوْنِهِ رَضْخًا وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لَمْ يُضْرَبْ لَهُنَّ سَهْمٌ بَيَانُ ذَلِكَ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ وغَيْرِهِ فِي الْإِسْهَامِ لَهُنَّ بِخَيْبَرَ وَهُوَ مُنْقَطِعٌ لَا تَقُومُ بِهِ حُجَّةٌ
