Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the Zuhr and ʿAsr prayers together on journeys, and also used to offer the Maghrib and ʿIsha' prayers together. Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the Maghrib and the ʿIsha' prayers together on journeys.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ صَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ سَيْرٍ وَيَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

Whenever the Prophet ﷺ started a journey before noon, he used to delay the Zuhr prayer till the time of ʿAsr and then offer them together; and if the sun declined (at noon) he used to offer the Zuhr prayer and then ride (for the journey).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ يَعْنِي الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ

Nafi' reported that when Ibn 'Umar was in a state of hurry on a journey, he combined the sunset and 'Isha' prayers after the twilight had disappeared, and he would say that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a state of hurry on a journey, he combined the sunset and 'Isha' prayers.

أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed the noon and afternoon prayers together, and the sunset and Isha' prayers together without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey.

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلاَ سَفَرٍ

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Tabuk expedition, and he observed the noon and afternoon prayers together and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers together.

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined in the expedition to Tabuk the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the 'Isha' prayer. He (one of the narrators) said: What prompted him to do that? He (Mu'adh) replied that he (the Holy Prophet) wanted that his Ummah should not be put to (unnecessary) hardship.

جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ مَا حَمَلَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَرَادَ أَنْ لاَ يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the noon and the afternoon prayers, and combined the sunset and night prayers without any danger or journey. Malik said: I think it so happened during rain. Abu Dawud said: Hammad b. Salamah narrated it like manner from Abu al-Zubair, it has also been narrated by Qurrah b. Khalid from Abu al-Zubair. He said: It is so happened in a journey that we made to Tabuk.

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلاَ سَفَرٍ قَالَ مَالِكٌ أُرَى ذَلِكَ كَانَ فِي مَطَرٍ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a hurry to travel, he would combine Maghrib and 'Isha'.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Zuhr and 'Asr together, and Maghrib and 'Isha' together, when there was no fear and he was not traveling."

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا مِنْ غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلاَ سَفَرٍ

the Messenger of Allah joined Maghrib and Isha in Jam (Al-Muzdalifah).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بِجَمْعٍ

the Prophet joined Maghrib and Isha in Jam (Al-Muzdalifah).

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بِجَمْعٍ

It was narrated from Mujahid, Sa’eed bin Jubair, ‘Ata’ bin Abi Rabah and Tawus that Ibn ‘Abbas told them that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine the Maghrib and ‘Isha’ when traveling, although there was nothing to make him hurry and no enemy pursuing him, and he was not afraid of anything.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي السَّفَرِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يُعْجِلَهُ شَىْءٌ وَلاَ يَطْلُبَهُ عَدُوٌّ وَلاَ يَخَافَ شَيْئًا

It was narrated from Mu’adh bin Jabal that the Prophet ﷺ combined the Zuhr and ‘Asr, and the Maghrib and ‘Isha’ when traveling during the campaign of Tabuk.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فِي السَّفَرِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a hurry to travel, he would combine Maghrib and 'Isha'. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 598)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ»

the Messenger of Allah joined Maghrib and Isha in Jam (Al-Muzdalifah). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3026)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ يَعْنِي بِجَمْعٍ »

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine the prayers during travel, for Maghrib and Isha, and also Dhuhr and Asr.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وَالظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a state of hurry on a journey, he combined the sunset and 'Isha' prayers. (Using translation from Muslim 703a)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ combined the Maghrib and Isha prayers when he stayed overnight in Arafah.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ حِينَ أَنَاخَ لَيْلَةَ عَرَفَةَ

What prompted him to do this? He said: He wanted that his Ummah should not be put to (unnecessary) hardship. (Using translation from Muslim 705c)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ

Whenever the Prophet ﷺ started a journey before noon, he used to delay the Zuhr prayer till the time of ʿAsr and then offer them together; and if the sun declined (at noon) he used to offer the Zuhr prayer and then ride (for the journey). (Using translation from Bukhārī 1110)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ يَعْنِي الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ held congregational prayers between Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha in the Battle of Tabuk.

جَمَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was in the Battle of Tabuk, and he would not leave until it became cool. He would combine between Dhuhr and Asr prayers and between Maghrib and Isha prayers.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ لَا يَرُوحُ حَتَّى يُبْرِدَ يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

It was narrated from Mu’adh bin Jabal that the Prophet ﷺ combined the Zuhr and ‘Asr, and the Maghrib and ‘Isha’ when traveling during the campaign of Tabuk. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1070)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Da'ud ibn al-Husayn from al- Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ joined dhuhr and asr on his journey to Tabuk.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي سَفَرِهِ إِلَى تَبُوكَ

3 Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to join maghrib and isha together when it was urgent to travel."

قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zubayr al-Makki from Said ibn Jubayr that Abdullah ibn Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed dhuhr and asr together and maghrib and isha together, and not out of fear nor because of travelling."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلاَ سَفَرٍ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ combined dhuhr (midday prayer) with asr (afternoon prayer), and maghrib (evening prayer) with isha (night prayer) during travel.

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي السَّفَرِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Zuhr and 'Asr together, and Maghrib and 'Isha' together, when there was no fear and he was not traveling." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 601)

«صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلَا سَفَرٍ»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ combined Maghrib and Isha prayers by combining them.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بِجَمْعٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers during rain.

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي الْمَطَرِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine the prayers during travel.

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to combine the prayers during travel and non-travel time: combining Zhuhr and Asr prayers, and Maghrib and Isha prayers.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «جَمَعَ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine between the prayers while traveling, combining the noon and afternoon prayers and the evening and night prayers.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine prayers during travel, specifically the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers. He would not seek an enemy, nor would an enemy seek him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وَلَيْسَ يَطْلُبُ عَدُوًّا وَلَا يَطْلُبُهُ عَدُوٌّ»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ prayed Dhuhr and Asr together in Madinah without fear or travel.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ جَمِيعًا فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلَا سَفَرٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ performed the combined prayer of Dhuhr and Asr, and the combined prayer of Maghrib and Isha'.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the prayers of Dhuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha, while traveling or during the Battle of Tabuk.

«جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي سَفْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ combined the noon and afternoon prayers and the sunset and evening prayers during travel.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي السَّفَرِ»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the Dhuhr and Asr prayers in Madinah without any fear.

أَنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers in the Battle of Tabuk.

«جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , gathered during the Battle of Tabuk between noon, afternoon, sunset, and nightfall until we returned."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى رَجَعْنَا»

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Tabuk expedition, and he observed the noon and afternoon prayers together and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers together. (Using translation from Muslim 706a)

«خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ waged a campaign in Tabuk during intense heat, and he combined the prayers of Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.

«غَزَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ تَبُوكًا فِي حَرٍّ شَدِيدٍ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers during the Battle of Tabuk.

«جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ gathered between Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers in the expedition of Tabuk.

«جَمَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ»

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed in Medina seven (rak'ahs) and eight (rak'ahs), i. e. (be combined) the noon and afternoon prayers (eight rak'ahs) and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers (seven rak'ahs). (Using translation from Muslim 705f)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَبْعًا وَثَمَانِيًا الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ

the Messenger of Allah joined Maghrib and Isha in Jam (Al-Muzdalifah). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3026)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بِجَمْعٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to delay the Dhuhr prayer when he wanted to combine it with the Asr prayer while traveling, until the beginning of the Asr prayer time.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي السَّفَرِ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ أَوَّلُ وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the companions in the expedition of Tabuk between the times of midday and afternoon, and between the times of sunset and nightfall.

جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ
