12. Remaing Anṣār (3/28)
[Machine] I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ and he was sad, so he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Uthman Ibn Umar, except that he said, "She has not come to me for three days."
[Machine] "To me, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , entered upon me and my companions entered upon him. He removed the veil and then said, 'May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their prophets as places of worship.'"
[Machine] He said: They entered upon him while he was wearing a cloak with patches, and he did not say anything about the Christians.
A daughter of Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him message while I and Sa'd were with him and I think Ubayy was also there: My son or daughter (the narrator is doubtful) is dying, so come to us. He sent her greeting, saying at the same time: Say! What Allah has been taken belongs to Him, what He has given (belongs to Him), and He has appointed time for everything. She then sent a message adjuring him (to come to her). So he came to her and the child who was on the point of death was placed in the hearts of those whom He wished. Allah shows compassion only to those of His servants who are compassionate. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3125)
[Machine] "Jafar, I love you for the sake of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . And Ali said, I love you for the sake of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . And Zaid said, I love you for the sake of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . So they said, come with us to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , so that we may ask him. Usama bin Zaid said, they came seeking permission from him, and he said, let them in. They entered and said, who is the most beloved to you? He said, Fatima. They said, we ask you about the men. He said, as for you, Jafar, your appearance is like mine and your manners are like mine. You are from me and I am from you. And as for you, Ali, you are my brother and my successor, and I am from you and you are from me. And as for you, Zaid, you are my freed slave and my cousin, and I love you for the sake of Allah."
[Machine] The translation of the passage into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said once, Usama informed me that he said, 'Interest in debt is forbidden.'
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came with Ummamah, the daughter of Zainab, and her pacifier rattled as if it was shaken in a vessel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For Allah, what He took, and for Allah, what He gave. Everything has a fixed term, and His eyes shed tears." Sa'd bin Ubada said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you weep even though you have forbidden weeping?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, this is mercy that Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants. Surely, Allah has mercy on those of His servants who have mercy."
[Machine] I went out as a pilgrim and entered the house. When I was near the Sariyatayn (two markers), I walked until I stepped against the wall. He (Ibn Umar) said: Then Ibn Umar came and stood beside me and prayed four (rak'ahs). I said to him: Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray inside the house? He said: Here. Usamah ibn Zaid informed me that he also prayed here. I said: How many (rak'ahs) did he pray? He said: I find myself blaming myself for not staying with him for a longer period and not asking him how many (rak'ahs) he prayed. When the next year came, he said: I went out as a pilgrim. He said: So I came to the spot where he was standing. Then Ibn Zubair came and stood beside me and kept pushing me until he made me move away from it. Then he prayed four (rak'ahs) in it.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays?" He replied, "Verily, actions are presented on Mondays and Thursdays before Allah."
I stood at the door of Paradise and I found that the overwhelming majority of those who entered therein was that of poor persons and the wealthy persons were detained to get into that. The denizens of Hell were commanded to get into Hell, and I stood upon the door of Fire and the majority amongst them who entered there was that of women. (Using translation from Muslim 2736)
[Machine] About the journey of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage, and I was a witness, he said: "His way of walking was like that of a camel, and when he found a gap, he would pass through it and I would be following behind him."
Why don't you visit 'Uthman and talk to him? Thereupon he said: Do you think that I have not talked to him but that I have made you hear? By Allah. I have talked to him (about things) concerning me and him and I did not like to divulge those things about which I had to take the initiative and I do not say to my ruler: "You are the best among people," after I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in Hell-Fire and his intestines will pour forth in Hell and he will go round along with them, as an ass goes round the mill stone. The denizens of Hell would gather round him and say: O, so and so, what has happened to you? Were you not enjoining us to do what was reputable and forbid us to do what was disreputable? He will say: Of course, it is so; I used to enjoin (upon people) to do what was reputable but did not practise that myself. I had been forbidding people to do what was disreputable, but practised it myself. (Using translation from Muslim 2989a)
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to a village called Ubna, and said: “Go to Ubna in the morning and burn it.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2843)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me a thick Coptic garment that he received as a gift from Dahyah Al-Kalbi. I gave it to my wife to wear, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, "Why didn't you wear the Coptic garment?" I replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I gave it to my wife to wear." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to me, "Tell her to put something under it, for I fear that it may describe the size of her bones."
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take me and sit me on his thigh, and he would sit Al-Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on his other thigh. Then, he would bring us close and say, "O Allah, have mercy on both of them, for I am merciful towards them."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ covered me with a thick garment that was gifted to him by Dahiya Al-Kalbi. I then wore it and my wife said to him, "Why don't you wear the garment?" So I told her, "I am wearing it." The Prophet ﷺ then said to her, "Show it to me." So she lifted it, and there was a goat under it, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Leave it. Put something under it, for I fear that it would harm her bones."
"Usamah bin Zaid told me: 'The daughter of the Prophet sent word to him telling him: A son of mine is dying, come to us. He sent word to her, conveying his greeting of salam and saying: "To Allah belongs that which He takes and that which He gives, and everything has an appointed time with Allah. Let her be patient and seek reward." She sent word to him adjuring him to go to her. So he got up and went, accompanied by Sa'd bin 'Ubadah, Muadh bin Jabal, Ubayy bin Kab Zaid bin Thabit and some other men. The boy was lifted up to the Messenger of Allah, with the death rattle sounding in him, and his eyes filled with tears. Sa'd said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is this?" he said: "This is compassion which Allah has created in the hearts of His slaves. Allah has mercy on His compassionate slaves." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1868)
[Machine] He (the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ ) continued (following him) on the Day of Arafah until he entered the valley, then he poured the water (for ablution), performed ablution, then he rode (his conveyance), and he did not perform the prayer.
"The Messenger of Allah used to be keen to fast on Mondays and Thursday." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2360)
[Machine] Two men from them stood up and asked him, so he said, "It is Dhuhr (midday prayer)." Then they went to Usama ibn Zaid and asked him, and he said, "It is Dhuhr (midday prayer). Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Dhuhr at the time of Hajir, and there would be no one behind him except for the rows and the Safwan from the people in their neighborhood and their trade." So Allah, the Almighty, revealed: "Guard strictly the (five obligatory) prayers, especially the middle prayer and stand before Allah with obedience." [Quran 2:238]. He (the Prophet) said, "Men should stop delaying, or else I will set their houses on fire."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "A man who used to be obeyed in committing sins against Allah the Exalted will be brought and thrown into the Fire. Then his intestines will spill out, and he will go around in the Fire as a donkey goes around the millstone. Then the people who used to obey him from among the people of his obedience will come to him and say: 'O so-and-so! What happened to you? We used to obey you in that which you commanded us.' He will say: 'Indeed, I used to command you to do good, but I myself used to oppose it.'"
"There is no Riba except in credit.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4580)
[Machine] About the دِينار (dinar) with دِينار (dinar) and between them is a surplus, and the درهم (dirham) with درهم (dirham). Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) permitted it. Ibn Al-Zubayr said, "Indeed, Ibn Abbas speaks of what he has not heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." The news reached Ibn Abbas, so he said, "I did not hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but Usamah Ibn Zayd narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Usury is only in the case of deficiency or delay.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5728)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought Umamah bint Zainab, and she was making a rattling noise like a baby in a cradle. He said, "O Allah, what did she take and what did you give?" and everything has its appointed time. Then his eyes became teary and Sa'd ibn Ubadah said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, do you cry even though you prohibited crying?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, this is mercy which Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants. Verily, Allah shows mercy to those among His servants who are merciful."
(Using translation from Muslim 2989a)
[Machine] I performed the Hajj pilgrimage and then I came until I entered the House (Kaaba). When I was between the two corners (of the Kaaba), I walked until I stuck to the wall. Then Ibn Umar came and prayed beside me. He prayed four (units of prayer). After he finished praying, I asked him, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray from the Kaaba?" He said, "Usamah bin Zaid informed me that he prayed here." So I said, "How many units of prayer did he pray?" He replied, "I see myself blaming myself because I stayed with him for a long time and never asked him how many units of prayer he prayed." Then I made Hajj the following year and came until I stood in his place. Then Ibn Zubayr came and stood beside me, constantly trying to push me away until he led me out. Then he prayed four units of prayer in that place.

Usamah bin Zaid said “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us with a detachment to Al Huruqat. They learnt about us and fled away. But we found a man, when we attacked him he uttered “There is no god but Allaah, still we struck him till we killed him.” When I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ he said “Who will save you from “There is no god but Allaah” on the Day of Judgment? I said “Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he uttered it for the fear of the weapon.” He said “Did you tear his heart so that you learnt whether he actually uttered it for this or not. Who will support you against “There is no god but Allaah”? He kept on repeating this till I wished I would have embraced Islam on that day. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2643)

"The Messneger of Allah departed from Arafat and I was riding behind him. He started trying to rein in his camel until its ears nearly touched the front of the saddle, and he was saying: 'O people, you must be tranquil and dignified, for righteousness does not come by making camels hurry.'"
[Machine] It is called "Ayyad," and Osama's daughter was under his care. It was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that a man had left one of the villages, and when he was close to the city on a certain path, he was struck by a plague. That news terrified the people, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "I hope that its veil, meaning the city, does not become apparent to us." Al-Hashimi and Ya'qub narrated this, and they both said that they heard it from Osama.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, this pandemic is a punishment that Allah has used to destroy nations before you. And there is still some of it remaining on the earth, it comes and goes. So when it happens in a land, do not leave it. And when you hear about it in a land, do not go to it."

Once the Prophet ﷺ stood over one of the high buildings of Medina and then said (to the people), "Do you see what I see?" They said, "No." He said, "I see afflictions falling among your houses as rain drops fall." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7060)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ continued his journey from Arafat. People said, "Our leader will inform us about what he did." Osama said, "When he descended from Arafat, he placed his hand on the neck of his camel until its head touched the ground or was about to touch it. He pointed to the people with his peaceful hand, saying, 'Calmness, calmness.' He continued until he reached a gathering, then he included Fadl ibn Abbas in his conversation. People said, 'Our leader will inform us about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did.' Fadl said, 'He continued to walk calmly, just like the way he did yesterday, until he reached a valley called Muhsir. He placed his staff in it until it stood firmly.'"

The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ returned from ‘Arafah. When he came to the mountain path , he alighted, urinated and performed the ablution, but he did not perform it completely. I said to him Prayer? He said “The prayer will be offered ahead of you.” He then mounted. When he reached Al Muzdalifah he alighted performed the ablution, performed it well. Thereafter iqamah for the prayer was called and he offered the sunset prayer. Then everyone made his Camel kneel down at his place. Iqamah was then called for night prayer and he offered it but he did not pray between them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1925)
