23. Chapter of Kāf (Male)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us from the mosque while we were a group of seven, four from the Arabs and three from the non-Arabs. He sat down and said, "Do you know what your Lord said?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Whoever observes the prayer at its proper time, and does not neglect it, will meet me on the Day of Resurrection with a covenant from me to enter Paradise. But whoever does not observe it at its proper time and neglects it, will meet me on the Day of Resurrection with no covenant from me. If I will, I may punish him, and if I will, I may forgive him."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came out to us while we were seven, three Arabs and four of his followers. He came out to us from one of his rooms and sat with us. He asked, "What brings you here?" We replied, "We are waiting for prayer." He then poked the ground with his fingers, then waited for a while and raised his head towards us and asked, "Do you know what your Lord says?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "He says, 'Whoever prays the prayers at their appointed times and fulfills their conditions, they will have a covenant with me to admit them into Paradise. And whoever does not pray the prayers at their appointed times and fails to fulfill their conditions, they will not have a covenant with me. If I wish, I will admit them into Hell, and if I wish, I will admit them into Paradise.'"
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day to the pulpit and said as he ascended one step, 'Ameen,' then he ascended the next step and said, 'Ameen,' then he ascended the third step and said, 'Ameen.' When he descended from the pulpit and finished, we said, 'O Messenger of Allah, today we heard from you something we had never heard before.' He said, 'Did you hear it?' We replied, 'Yes.' He then said, 'Verily, Jibril ﷺ came to me while I was ascending a step and said, "May Allah distance the one who does not have his parents reach old age and enter Paradise from both of them." I said, 'Ameen.' Jibril ﷺ then said, "May Allah distance the one in whose presence you are mentioned and he does not send blessings upon you." I said, 'Ameen.' Jibril ﷺ then said, "May Allah distance the one who reaches the month of Ramadan and does not have his sins forgiven." I said, 'Ameen.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ sent out a military expedition and he said, "If Allah grants them safety, then I will express my gratitude." Or he said, "O Ali, if Allah grants them safety, then I will express my gratitude." So they gained booty and returned safely. Then he said, "O Allah, to You belongs all praise, gratefulness, and all favors." The people expected him to do something but they did not see him do anything. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, you said to the one who said that?" He replied, "Did I not say, 'O Allah, to You belongs all praise, gratefulness, and all favors?'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ka'ab bin 'Ujrah, "There will be rulers after me, and their description is of tyranny. So, whoever enters upon them and believes their lies and supports them in their transgressions, then he is not from me and I am not from him. He will not be granted access to the Basin (on the Day of Judgment). But whoever does not believe their lies and does not support them in their transgressions, then he is from me and I am from him. He will be granted access to the Basin, O Ka'ab bin 'Ujrah. It is more deserving for meat that grows from unlawful sources not to enter Paradise, and the Hellfire is more deserving for it."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are of two types: a person who sets himself free and therefore finds salvation, and a person who sells himself and therefore becomes ruined."
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Ka'ab bin Ujrah, people are of two categories, those who redeem themselves and those who destroy themselves."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are merchants of themselves. Some set themselves free, while others destroy themselves.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs ablution and then proceeds to the mosque of Quba with the intention of nothing else, and does not carry any goods to trade except for offering the prayer in the mosque of Quba, and then prays four rak'ahs in it, reciting in each rak'ah Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Ikhlas, he will have the reward of performing Umrah."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prayed Maghrib prayer in the mosque of Bani Abdul Ashhal. After praying, some people started performing voluntary prayers. The Prophet ﷺ said, "You should perform this prayer in your homes."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man does not purify himself in his house, then go out, except that he is in prayer until he performs his prayer. So, do not let anyone among you interlace his fingers while in prayer."
[Machine] "We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , when a disguised man passed by. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There will be a group of people and differences among them, and this (man) and his companions will be upon the truth.' Ka'b said, 'I recognized him and kept looking at him until I knew him. We used to ask Ka'b about this man, but he refused to inform us. Then Ka'b went with Ali to Kufa, and he did not return until he died. It was as if we knew that this man was Ali.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions one day, "What do you say about a man who was killed in the cause of Allah?" They said, "Paradise, if Allah wills." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Paradise, if Allah wills." He then asked, "What do you say about a man who died in the cause of Allah?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Paradise, if Allah wills." He then asked, "What do you say about a man who died and two just witnesses stood and said, 'We only know good about him?'" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Paradise, if Allah wills." Finally, he asked, "What do you say about a man who died and two just witnesses stood and said, 'We don't know anything good about him?'" They said, "Hellfire." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is a sinner, and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
