[Machine] "A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ told me that they used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and then go back to their families and return to Bani Salamah while observing the places where spears were being thrown." This is narrated by Yunus from Ibn Shihab from Ibn Ka'b. A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ informed me.  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ «أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَيَنْصَرِفُونَ إِلَى أَهْلِيهِمْ وَيَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى بَنِي سَلَمَةَ وَهُمْ يُبْصِرُونَ مَوَاقِعَ النَّبْلِ حِينَ يُرْمَى بِهَا» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ يُونُسُ ? عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ? عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

[Machine] "A mother gave glad tidings to Ka'ab when he attended. She said, 'Read upon my son peace, meaning glad tidings.' So Ka'ab said, 'May Allah forgive you, O mother of glad tidings. Haven't you heard what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said? He said, 'Verily, the soul of a believer is suspended in a bird until Allah returns it to its body on the Day of Resurrection.' So she said, 'I seek forgiveness from Allah.'"  

أُمُّ مُبَشِّرٍ لِكَعْبٍ حِينَ حَضَرَ اقْرَأْ عَلَى ابْنِي السَّلَامَ تَعْنِي مُبَشِّرًا فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَكِ يَا أُمَّ مُبَشِّرٍ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعِي مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ» نَسَمَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ فِي طَيْرٍ تُعْلَّقُ فِي شَجَرِِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَهُ اللهُ إِلَى جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَتْ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The souls of the believers are like birds suspended in paradise until Allah returns them to their bodies on the Day of Resurrection."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَرْوَاحُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي طَيْرٍ مُعَلَّقٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرُدَّهَا اللهُ إِلَى أَجْسَادِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The soul of a believer is like a bird that hangs on to the trees of Paradise until Allah returns it to its body on the day of resurrection."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا نَسَمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَيْرٌ يَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَهُ اللهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُ»  

[Machine] "O Abu Abdullah, if you meet my son, convey my greetings to him." So he (Abdullah Ibn Abbas) said, "May Allah forgive you, O mother of Basheer, we are preoccupied with other matters." So Aba Abdullah said, "Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, the souls of the believers are mounted on birds that are attached to the trees of Paradise?'" He (Ibn Abbas) said, "Yes." She (the mother of Basheer) said, "Indeed, it is as you have mentioned."  

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنْ لَقِيتَ ابْنِي فَأَقْرِئْهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ فَقَالَ يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَكِ يَا أُمَّ بِشْرٍ نَحْنُ أَشْغَلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَرْوَاحِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي أَجْوَافِ طَيْرٍ تَعْلُقُ بِشَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ» قَالَ بَلَى قَالَتْ فَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ  

[Machine] When death approached him, the mother of the Prophet came to him and said, "Read the peace upon my son." He said to her, "Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The soul of the believer is a bird that hangs in the trees of Paradise until it is resurrected on the Day of Judgment?'" She said, "Yes, but I got scared."  

لَمَّا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ أَتَتْهُ أُمُّ مُبَشِّرٍ فَقَالَتْ اقْرَأْ عَلَى ابْنِي السَّلَامَ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَوَمَا سَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «رُوحُ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَائِرٌ تَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يُبْعَثَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» قَالَتْ بَلَى وَلَكِنْ وَهِلْتُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a believer dies, a bird attaches itself to the branches of Paradise until Allah returns it to its body on the Day of Resurrection."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَسَمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِذَا مَاتَ طَائِرٌ تَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَهُ اللهُ إِلَى جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
