Surely, you all see me, but by Allah, I see what is behind my back just as I see what is in front of me."
[Machine] "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When one of you stands for prayer, let him not spit in front of him, for he is conversing with his Lord as long as he is in his prayer. Nor to his right, for there is an angel to his right. Instead, let him spit to his left or under his foot and bury it."

[Machine] The Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "When one of you is in prayer, he should not spit to his right or in front of him, for he is having a private conversation with his Lord. However, he may spit to his left or under his foot."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you stands up for prayer, he should not spit in front of him, as he is conversing with his Lord as long as he is in his prayer area. He should not spit to his right either, as there is an angel to his right. Instead, he should spit to his left or beneath his foot and bury it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you only knew the reward he has in walking to his brother, seeking to consult with him, while he is secluded in prayer with his Lord, he would have preferred to stand in that place for a hundred years rather than taking a single step."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When a man stands with the intention of saying prayer, or if any of you says prayer, he should not spit before him, nor at his right side; but he should do so at his left side, if there is a place for it; or he should spit under his left foot and then rub it off. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 478)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ secluded himself and addressed the people, saying, "Indeed, when one of you stands in prayer, he is conversing with his Lord, so let each of you know what he is conversing with his Lord about, and let not one of you pronounce his recitation in prayer loudly over another."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the people while they were praying and their voices were raised with recitation. He said, "Verily, the one who is in prayer is having a confidential conversation with his Lord, so let each one of you see what he converses with his Lord in, and do not compete with one another in recitation of the Quran."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ retired to the mosque. He heard them (the people) reciting the Qur'an in a loud voice. He removed the curtain and said: Lo! every one of you is calling his Lord quietly. One should not trouble the other and one should not raise the voice in recitation or in prayer over the voice of the other. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1332)
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , while he was sitting in the mosque one day, preaching to the people, admonishing them, and encouraging them. Then he said, "There is no one who prays except that he is conversing with his Lord, so none of you should raise his voice over another with the recitation of the Qur'an." [387] 3347 Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Hakam informed us from Shuayb from Layth who said: Ibn al-Had informed us from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim from Ata bin Yasar from a man from the Ansar from Bani Bayadah that he heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he mentioned a similar narration. 3348 Muhammad ibn Abdullah informed us from Shuayb who said: Layth informed us who said: Ibn al-Had informed us from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim from Abu Hazim, the freed slave of Ghifar, that he narrated this hadith from Al-Bayadi from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . Abu Abdur-Rahman contradicted him and narrated it from his master, Sa'id.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan and said, "When one of you is in prayer, he is conversing with his Lord, so do not raise your voices with the recitation of the Quran." Abu 'Abdur-Rahman differed with him, and Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated it from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Hazim.

Abu Abdullah Al-Rahman said that Ibn Al-Mubarak, Al-Laith ibn Saad, and Yazid ibn Harun narrated this hadith.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw mucus in the direction of the qibla (the direction of prayer) and disliked it until it was visible on his face. He then wiped it off and said, "Indeed, when one of you stands in prayer, he is actually conversing with his Lord, or his Lord is speaking to him in between himself and the qibla. Therefore, let him spit to his left or beneath his foot. Then he took hold of the corner of his garment, spat into it, brought some of it back to the other part, and said, "Or let him do like this."
The Prophet ﷺ saw some sputum in the direction of the Qibla (on the wall of the mosque) and he disliked that and the sign of disgust was apparent from his face. So he got up and scraped it off with his hand and said, "Whenever anyone of you stands for the prayer, he is speaking in private to his Lord or his Lord is between him and his Qibla. So, none of you should spit in the direction of the Qibla but one can spit to the left or under his foot." The Prophet ﷺ then took the corner of his sheet and spat in it and folded it and said, "Or you can do this. " (Using translation from Bukhārī 405)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "A faithful believer while in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord, so he should neither spit in front of him nor to his right side but he could spit either on his left or under his foot." (Using translation from Bukhārī 413)

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to the people while they were praying and their voices were raised in recitation, so he said: "Verily, the one who prays is having a private conversation with his Lord, so let him look towards what he is conversing with Him, and do not raise your voices over one another in recitation."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw some spittle on the Qibla of the mosque, so he wiped it with his hand. It caused him distress and he said, "When a person prays, they are conversing privately with their Lord between themselves and the Qibla. So if any one of you spits, let them spit to their left or under their feet, or do this," and he showed them, "and then wipe it off their clothes or rub it against each other." Yazid said, "Humaid saw us doing this."

"When any one of you prays, let him not spit in front of him or to his right, rather let him spit to his left or beneath his feet." Then the Prophet ﷺ spat like this on his garment and rubbed it. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 309)
