[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "When one of you prays, let him not spit towards the qiblah (direction of prayer), for indeed, the qiblah is the direction of mercy, nor to his right, but rather to his left or beneath his left foot."  

أحمد:٥٧٤٥ – حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ تُجَاهَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَإِنَّ تُجَاهَهُ الرَّحْمَنُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى

ibnhibban:2267 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > ʿAbbās b. al-Walīd al-Narsī > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik > Nabī Allāh ﷺ

[Machine] The Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "When one of you is in prayer, he should not spit to his right or in front of him, for he is having a private conversation with his Lord. However, he may spit to his left or under his foot."  

ابن حبّان:٢٢٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلَا يَتْفُلْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَلَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ»  

suyuti:1543a –

Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw some expectoration on the wall of the mosque; he took gravel and scraped it off and said, "If anyone of you wanted to spit he should neither spit in front of him nor on his right but he could spit either on his left or under his left foot." (Using translation from Bukhārī 408)   

السيوطي:١٥٤٣a –

"إذَا تنخَّمَ أحدُكمْ فلا يتنخَّمنَّ قِبَل وَجْهِه ولا عنْ يمينه وليبصُقْ عن يساره أو تحت قدمِه اليُسْرى".
