muslim:1539h – Ibn Numayr from my father > ʿUbaydullāh > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar > Zayd b. Thābit

Zaid b. Thabit (Allah be pleased with him) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ granting concession in case of 'ariyya transactions and that implies selling of (dry dates for fresh dates) according to a measure.  

مسلم:١٥٣٩h – وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا أَنْ تُبَاعَ بِخَرْصِهَا كَيْلاً  

muslim:1539j – [Chain 1] Abū al-Rabīʿ And ʾAbū Kāmil > Ḥammād [Chain 2] Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ Bihadhā al-Isnād

Nafi, reported this hadith with the same chain of transmitters stating that Allah's Messengtr ﷺ granted concession in case of 'ariyya transactions (for exchange of the same commodity) with measure.

The Prophet ﷺ gave license for the sale of 'araya for dried dates and fresh dates.  

أبو داود:٣٣٦٢ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِالتَّمْرِ وَالرُّطَبِ  

tirmidhi:1302 – Qutaybah > Ḥammād b. Zayd > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar > Zayd b. Thābit

From Zaid bin Thabit that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted selling in Al-'Araya by estimating it.  

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. The Hadith of Abu Hurairah is Hasan Sahih. And this is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge. Among them Ash-Shafi'i, Ahmad and Ishaq. They said Al-'Araya is an exception from the general scope of the prohibition of the Prophet ﷺ when he prohibited Al-Muhaqalah and Al-Muzabanah. They argued using this Hadith of Zaid bin Thabit and the Hadith of Abu Hurairah. They said that he may buy what is less than five Wasq. According to some of the people of knowledge, this means that the Prophet ﷺ wanted to make less restriction for them on this matter because they complained to him saying: "We dont by anything with dried dates except fruit." So he permitted them to buy less than five Wasq worth so they could eat fresh dates.

malik:31-14 – Yaḥyá > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar > Zayd b. Thābit

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar from Zayd ibn Thabit that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed the holder of an ariya to barter the dates on the palm for the amount of dried dates it was estimated that the palms would produce.

الطبراني:٤٧٦٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي بَيْعِ الْعَرَايَا بِخَرْصِهَا تَمْرًا»
