The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is better for a man to fill the inside of his body with pus than to fill it with poetry."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ; said, "It is better for anyone of you that the inside of his body be filled with pus which may consume his body, than it be filled with poetry."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ رَجُلٍ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

It is better for the belly of any one of you to be stuffed with pus rather than to stuff (one's mind) with poetry.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

"If a man were to fill his stomach completely with pus until it destroyed him, that would be better for him than filling (his mind) with poetry."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

"If a man were to fill his stomach completely with pus until it destroyed him, that would be better for him than filling (his mind) with poetry." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3760)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is better that one of you fill his insides with puss than to fill it with poetry." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2851)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا أَوْ دَمًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا»

"If a man were to fill his stomach completely with pus until it destroyed him, that would be better for him than filling (his mind) with poetry." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3760)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is better for one of you to have his stomach filled with pus rather than be filled with hair."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is better for a man to fill his belly with oozing pus than to fill it with poetry."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ رَجُلٍ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is better for one of you to fill his belly with pus than to fill it with poetry."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا

"لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أحَدِكُم قِيحًا خَيرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا".

حم، خ، عن ابن عمر، حم، م عن أبي سعيد، ط، ت عن سعيد بن أبي وقاص،

"عن عمرَ قال: لأَن يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ الرجلِ قَيْحًا خيرٌ من أن يَمْتلئَ شِعْرًا".

" عَنْ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوفُ أَحدِكُم قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ لَه مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِىَء شِعْرًا ".

"عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: لأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِن أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا".
