[Machine] "He heard Abu Huraira say: 'My beloved friend advised me with three things that I will never neglect. Firstly, to never sleep except after praying Witr (an additional prayer performed after Isha prayer). Secondly, to fast three days every month. And thirdly, to never abandon the two Rak'ahs of Dhuha (a voluntary prayer performed in the morning).' "
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Maghrib prayer is the Witr prayer of the daytime, so perform the Witr prayer of the night. The Witr prayer of the night is to be performed in sets of two units, and the Witr prayer consists of a single unit at the end of the night."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The night prayer is to be performed two by two, and when you fear the dawn, then perform one rak'ah. Indeed, Allah, the Most High, loves the odd number."
[Machine] He was on a journey when his companion stopped to rest. Ibn Umar asked him, "Why don't you ride?" He replied, "I am performing the sunset prayer." Ibn Umar said, "Is it not the case that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is a good example for you?"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah is One and loves the odd numbers. Nafi' said that Ibn Umar used to always perform acts of worship in odd numbers."
[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic phrase is: "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Witr prayer while he was riding."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said that the night prayer should be performed in pairs. And when the dawn approaches, complete your night prayer with an odd-numbered unit of prayer, which will serve as the Witr prayer for you. Abdullah used to perform the Witr prayer with only one unit.
[Machine] "And indeed, I was with both of them in the gathering; however, I was young, so I did not memorize the conversation. They said, a man asked him about Witr (an odd-numbered prayer), so he mentioned the conversation and said, 'Verily, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded to make the last prayer of the night Witr.'"
[Machine] "To pray at night, I used to offer one Rak'ah (unit of prayer) after the completion of my Witr (odd) prayer. Then I would pray two Rak'ahs (units of prayer) again and again. And when I finished my prayer, I would perform one Rak'ah of Witr. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that the last prayer at night be Witr."
[Machine] "A man said to Ibn Umar: Indeed, Abu Hurairah claims that Witr (an odd-numbered prayer performed after Isha prayer) is not obligatory. Ibn Umar replied: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the night prayer (Tahajjud). He replied: The night prayer is to be performed in pairs of two rak'ahs, and if you fear the approach of dawn, perform one rak'ah of Witr."
[Machine] That Abdullah used to pray at night and perform Witr (an optional prayer) while riding on his camel without caring about the direction he faced. He said, "I have seen Salim doing the same, and Nafi' informed me that Abdullah used to do it following the example of the Prophet ﷺ ."
[Machine] He used to pray the last night prayer in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then he would perform Witr prayer with one unit that he would not exceed. It is said to him, "Do you perform Witr with one unit that you do not exceed, O Abu Ishaq?" He would say, "Yes, indeed, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The one who does not sleep until he performs Witr is determined.'"
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Witr at the beginning of the night and in the middle and at the end, then he persisted in praying it at the end of the night.
At different times of the night the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Witr at the beginning, in the middle and at the end. Then he settled on praying Witr at the end of the night.
It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr when the adhan was given and he prayed two rakʿahs when the iqamah was given.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Witr at the time of the adhan and pray two rakʿahs of Fajr at the time of the iqamah.
The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr at the time of the adhan and pray two rakʿahs at the time of the iqamah.
