14. Addendum to the Anṣār
[Machine] "He (referring to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) was sitting with Ibn Umar at the market of the city, saying, 'The prayer of whoever misses it is as if his family and wealth have been taken away from him.' Ibn Umar said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ meant the Asr prayer.'"
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever misses the prayer, it is as if he has lost his family and wealth." Hashim said in his narration, "So I asked Abu Bakr, what is this? He said, it is the afternoon prayer." Yazid also said in his narration, "So I asked, what is this prayer? He said, I do not know." Al-Zuhri said, as for this hadith that we have narrated from Abu Bakr, who narrated it from his father, who heard it from the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever misses the prayer of Asr, it is as if he has lost his family and wealth."
" There is a prayer among prayers ('Asr) and one who misses it is as if his family and property have been ruined." (Using translation from Muslim 2886b)
